    These are great. I used this idea for trees on my group's table. I used floral wire to create the branches.I twisted them up and coated them in hot glue. I wish I could have found the nice plastic leaves you have here.

    Great solution to the eternal problem of tabletop trees! The usual ones either lose foliage in a flash (as you mention) or break and are difficult to store (if they are made of hard plastic). I've alway wondered why no one is making soft-leaf gaming trees.

      Sorry to bother you, but when I make these, I seem to have problems. Do you fully coat your trees in hot glue, or only partially? My TP also seems to fall away from the tree. This might be because of my lack of watered down glue. Any tips?

    If you really want to give that feel of super thick forest with a dense canopy you can make walls of trees with the sparse leafs on one side and thick solid canopy on the other just like they do in some computer games.

    I really liked your "flat trees" from way back due to their simplicity, but I always felt they were a bit too suggestive, almost like a "tree token" if you will. THIS latest version though looks to be the best version yet! Have you given any thought to coniferous or tropical trees yet?

  • @knghtbrd
    @knghtbrd 3 роки тому

    Hey Scotty, I often wonder about these things … That tree looks really dark on my screen, and in fact most crafts made by most crafters really do in videos. I wonder because a lot of people want wood to look old (so dark and weathered) and dungeons are supposed to be dingy and grimy… And with some crafters I'm pretty sure 50 shades of black is a style choice 😁 but still… I know that a key to making things work at mini scale is contrast, more than you think you need. So I just gotta figure it's not showing up on my screen.

    • @theDMsCraft
      @theDMsCraft  3 роки тому

      I agree with that statement. It could be your screen but many crafters I feel make things too dingy and they just look washed out on the table.

    I have a heat gun (not as awesome as it sounds) which basically just blows heated air at things, i know for some crafts i can't use it because its too hot and melts some things (like foam). Do you know how these would react to a heat gun?
