I can not accurately describe the feeling I get from these videos or just hearing John Davis's voice. It takes me back to a simpler time in my life, when the bills didn't pile up on the table or more accurately today in the inbox. The way I feel when watching this stuff is actually more elusive than can be explained by someone with my limited emotional self-awareness. All I know is that it runs deep within me and is a positive escape in an otherwise very hectic day. Thank you MotorWeek,

Had to deliver this car in red to Bon Jovi in NJ back in 2007 or 2008 when I worked at Ray Catena Mercedes. Its an awesome machine.
Not one mention that it is a pillarless coupe. Guess they didn’t realize pillarless coupes would be phased out.
People these days see a clean CLK with windows down and can’t help but stare. It’s gorgeous.
This car is a classic
One of the best looking MB’s and AMG ever. Absolutely a beast! Sad to see those days are long gone.
I have a 2006 clk 55 AMG with 130K miles and I just took it to a guy to get the interior restored, completely replacing the driver’s seat, finally upgrading the stereo to update it with a more modern interface. We just got the top replaced 5K bucks). Probably more work then it’s worth however it still drives like a beast due to regular maintenance and all 32 computers in it are still going strong
Edit: double checked the top replacement it was 3K

My 2005 CLK 55 AMG Avantgarde Sport Coupe just cracked 182k the other day with zero check engine lights on since I replaced the MAF Sensor when I bought her recently with 179k miles and she's been maintained rigorously all her life. Runs like new still, it's weird how Mercedes and AMG can make something so powerful so reliable. These are going to go up in value once people realize what they are and what they do. It's just that these AMG CLK's are rare-

Man that car still looks amazingly beautiful by today’s standards! And great performance too!
This has aged so well, hard to believe this car is 16 years old already! I remember when it came out and thought it was badass, now it definitely seems way more enticing than it was new!
Clarkson used to own this car
I had one of these cars. I loved it. Brutal power and lots of torque. Not as finesse as the Porsche 911 but docile enough to drive daily at low speeds.
This was a grand slam for Benz! That engine/exhaust roar and vicious body work on a compact chassis were genius. 🔥
Those and the c6 z06 were absolute missiles back then and still is today.

@@AK_Russki I think he was strapped for cash after BBC sacked him and his wife divorced him. So much that he had to move to a flat (apartment) in London and downgraded from the CLK 63 AMG BS to a VW Golf GTI.
@@CynicalBastard511 But surely he would've still received royalty payments from all the work prior to getting the sack, no?... Like a musician who hasn't recorded in years, but still gets money from record sales, and actors from DVD/digital purchases...

The last of the great AMG's in my opinion. All of the "Black Series" cars were legendary creations.

Back when car brands had character and style. These days you can hardly tell any brand apart, and when you can they are seemingly competing for the most ugly car award.

never been in one but those things rocked especially on a open road, that exhaust sound can over take the freeway.
The braking is nuts, it looks like a video game, completely flat

This was the near end of the golden era of amg. Now it’s basically just half to third the displacement and 2-3 times the turbos
