Sorry it’s took so long for the part 2 guys! But as you know I’ve been under the weather, 🤧 videos will now be more consistent.
Hope you all enjoy, all the best everyone!
Sam. I love the Mercedes engine cover badge. I've been trying to find one since owning the Clk. I'll be in touch soon for collection. Very happy man mate.
@@phil25051 no problem ive actully done ore bits and bobs since this video haha i cant help it
Cracking job guys and hope you enjoy your rejuvenated CLK Phil. It’s a cracking car
Sam. A 2xl SPR t shirt would be worn with pride, mate.😊
@@phil25051 You’ve done well for yourself there! All of the pillarless coupés age well aesthetically.
With the amount of parts replaced & the expert work/knowledge required, I think £6,700 was a bargain especially with the gearbox refurb for £1,200. The car will more than likely provide years of trouble free motoring to come. Glad to see a mechanic who cares about his work. Enjoyed the videos.
Yes this customer has a good solid rare! Low mileage AMG now with most thing covered
This, people, is why you need to take your car to a specialist. Glad you're over your health issues Sam.
I’ve got an R129 and I love watching you fixing these older Mercs. Well done fella’s 👏👏👏👏
Value for money from a company that goes the extra mile for its customers. A job well done and a car to be proud of.
No wonder you’re booked out, honest and highly skilled. Your apprentices will carry your workmanship on.
As an Australian owner of a nice Mercedes B200 CDI (2012 model) it is great to see your in-depth videos on Mercedes generally. They are professional, factual, and no stupid padding. Fantastic.
Refreshing you are prepared to reveal costs. Not many if any UA-cam repair channels do this.
What a great job.....and having that badge made for the engine cover just made the car complete......top work 👌👍
Hi Sam, Rolf from Australia nice to see your good work.I have a C 55 AMG 2005.Not many of them around
in Australia. 130...km. love it very much. Beeing an 74year ( old motor mechanic) I like to see your videos. Also appreciate
your honesty cheers good luck for the future.
Thanks rolf, I hope your still doing abit 🔧
C55 nice car 👌
Simply excellent content again Sam. You and Nathan are a hell of a team. Your customers are very privileged to have you. As a mechanic (non merc) and huge merc enthusiast who owns an S204 really appreciate the channel.
Much appreciated! Great to hear that from fellow mechanics. 🧰
Your work ethics remind me of how repair shops and mechanics worked decades ago. It was a mutual relationship towards maintaining a vehicles health. Kudos from across the pond..
I always fancied a nice Merc, but I would need to live near this garage to realise the dream. Excellent professional work done by those who are specialists. Very heartening.
My 2003 CLK 55 has a Valeo radiator and to be honest, it scared me a bit as they were known to have a factory defect and leak. However, it seems that the previous owner replaced the radiator because the date on it is 05/03/05, so I hope I won't have an unpleasant surprise.
i cant believe how rare parts become nowadays on mercs. back in the eighties i had a customer in sheffield that had a 500 gullwing and i could get the parts (sometimes with a bit of delay) quite readily.
Real professionals be proud of what you do I am proud of you guys being an engineer myself this is how it should be done. I would come from anywhere in the country to see you guys if I had a Merc
Appreciate that thank you 🙏
Happy memories, the arrival of the Snap Off van was a weekly treat (if your pocket could stand it).
Persuading your self the £200 ratchet is worth it for the free cup. 😂
Outstanding work as always Sam. The gearbox and torque converter rebuild was a more than reasonable price. Ending up with a beautiful Merc 🎉
Thanks 👍
from Australia, love your work Sam, thanks for the video, great content very well executed.
For all the work and passion that went into putting this superb car back on the road, a bill of £6,700 is in my mind, an absolute bargain!
As the saying goes Good mechanics are not cheap and cheap mechanics are not good, quality work as always and worth every penny 👌👌
Well said!
I had a 270CLK W209 CDI which I had for 5 years. Favourite Merc I have ever driven ,and I have had15 various Mercs.
It was nice to see someone else likes and understands them . Took me a while to work out what a rear end rattle on a rough road was {[roll bar bushes ! }
Just subscribed to this channel a few days ago. Always great to find a genuine specialist garage like this. Brilliant content. When I win the Euromillions and start my collection I'll be getting in touch!
A small price to pay to keep such a nice car on the road. Great work on a modern classic car :)
Every day is a school day - I honestly had no idea what a torque converter actually looks like 😂
Fabulous work, lovely CLK55, an underrated car in my opinion. I had one of these a few years ago in the same colour, always thought it could have used a 6 speed manual, it would have transformed the engine’s performance. However I also felt the auto gave them a muscle car feel which was enjoyable.
Well done SPR Autos. I really enjoy your videos and commentary.
Wonderful content and the explantions are on point
The more expensive a car was new, the more you need to spend to keep it on the road, no such thing as a cheap performance car. Great video series and hopefully loads of fun for the owner.
Wow what a job and that’s some amount of work you have done to the car. And only for the bill to come in at £6,700 you could have well over charged for that like so many other garages would have done. Just shows that you’d are genuine guys and are not out to rip people off. I have a £5.800 bill coming for a Bank 1 and Bank 2 manifold rebuild on my SQ7 If I got the bill of £6,700 for all that work I would gladly pay it and not even query it one single bit.
i am lucky to have an honest Service rep/ and mechanic at my local Mercedes dealer here in Florida. They are honest like you guys. Really enjoy watching these videos. Your customers are so lucky to have a mechanic like you.
Much appreciated! thank you
Great channel. No BS presenting/filling. You can’t run a good car without a good specialist.
I absolutely loved wathcing this video and its inherently clear that you guys take enormous pride in the work that you do. The customer must be over the moon with the end result, i know i would be if i was lucky enough to own this beauty. Keeep up the good work 👍
Another very informative and enlightening video. I also echo a previous post, £6.700 for all that work, I was fully expecting the total to be a fair bit more. I consider myself very fortunate that you guys will be looking after my new to me Clk 55.
Another clk 55 🙌
Wow! Where can I find a mechanic like you in Australia 😊 Your attention to detail is amazing.
Oh no! You and Steve diagnosed a failed Valeo radiator in my 2003 W211 E270. Unhappy memories! The cost was too high at the time so I traded it in to the dealer that sold it to me. I have never done that before or since but that car was the most unreliable motor of my entire life. It was at your place so often that I had forgotten to MOT it!
Bargain job, sounds like gearboxes might be cheaper to rebuild now, I hope that you are now in fine fettle yourself 💪
My 2011 w204 c300 suffered this at 120k mls. Replaced radiator, torque converter, clutches, tcm, and reprogrammed the tcm. Cost: $8k for parts and $1.8k for module and $500 for merc tech mobile programming. After 2k mls car runs good but trans 94% as smooth as it used to be
AMG's are superb and nice cars from Mercedes, I love them, nice service as always guys!
I guessed at £6-6500 so pretty close. The customer has now got a lovely, low mileage car in great condition. Happy days!
I will definitely be bringing my c63 c205 for a service B.
As a Dutchman watching you buying petrol by the liter but expressing efficiency in mpg makes me smile.
It makes sense to Englishmen 😀😀
There is a screw missing but there is also a Loose Nut standing directly behind the two front Wheels!
Seriously Sam, the Best Mercedes Mechanics out there and Seriously funny Mechanics let's all be honest🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
P.S. Smiles per Gallon..................................😂😂😂😂
6700£ Nice work Super car ! Thanks You brou 🙏🏻🙌🏻☝🏻
Awesome, i hope you are feeling better.
That moment we all love on a Monday morning when the Snap On Man arrives and he think did i really get paid on Friday? 🤓🤓🤓
Excellent video again. 🤝
Awesome job. Greetings from Johannesburg 🇿🇦
The same thing happens to lexus ls430 and mk3 gs430, but not a low mileage, it usually happens around 100000 miles or slighly over, what people do to prevent it from happening is either replace the radiator just before it hits 100k or put a separate cooler on it
Quality video and work 👍
23:29 He’s telling the truth… always doing free stuff for me when my car is in. If Sam was a plastic surgeon, you’d go in for your appendix and wake up looking like Cher.
😂
😂
This is why I’m going to take my futur Mercedes Benz from Newcastle Upon Tyne to him. He’s incredible.
Rumours abound that Chers Piss Flaps,, Beef Curtains ,,, were used by her plastic surgeon to reconstruct Nicki Laudas ears...
Or heaven Forbid, Madonna .but in realty it would be more like Nancy Pelosi.
If all mechanics had your professionalism and integrity the world would be a better place
£6,700!
Was fully expecting around the £10k mark to be honest.
With all that work and such low mileage, I think the car will be worth that much more, or at least £5k more.
Cracking job
September 2003 is the changeover date for later radiator which equates to around VIN 80000 for coupe and 12000 for convertible, always base on build date not reg, 53 plate doesn't mean its safe, that particular car was built in April which is why it suffered.
@@iangriffiths985 good info thank you
Great Knowledge
Loving your video Steve
On when you can’t fix something and especially spot that before it bites you.
You are working to your abilities in respect of the backup you can’t get sadly.
I would love for you to take my S212 om640 13 plate. Full no expense spared history we have kept up 167k miles. I’ve had 2 sprinters over 350k miles btw. Look after them and they look after you. As with tools.
Keep up the great work, don’t overstretch your business but put me on your list when available. I will always have a MB. As with Makita tools, they invented the battery screw/drill driver in 80s as MB did with cars. Sad about the Renault connection, I think it’ll bite them though. New Renault vans was when I invested in Sprinters. Most comfortable vans I have ever driven 600+ miles a day and still fresh.
The reason I sometimes go on and waffle is ADHD. I apologise.
Keep up the fantastic informative work.
Love to meet you sometime. 👍
great stuff . . . again !
I was quoted in France 1400 euro to recon a vauxhall vivaro gearbox so you did really well
Not a single ray of sunshine in 2 half hour videos :D
Great work. I bet hourly rates are crazy in UK for this kind of work
Great story, well told and that dead-pan humour 😂😂😂 keep 'em coming!
My W210 E55 was a one owner car for 17 years came with a full main dealer history as far as I could tell it's gearbox lasted 250,000 miles with only two fluid changes. It was getting a bit sluggish to change gear when I had it though.
Awesome work and more than reasonable, thank you for sharing.
Stunning car and absolutely worth spending the money on.
Awesome job by you guys
Well done nice job
I was wondering when you were going to disconnect the gear lever! 😂😂😂 modern cars eh?
Love the videos 👍 wish you were closer to me in Kent..
Absolutely quality content as always. That car is now even more of an absolute gem thanks to you guys 👊
Great job, just shows that these cars are made to be driven.
I live in Ireland and would be tempted to get the ferry over for you to work on my car excellent work.
Thanks for pointing out part 2 with the gearbox work.
Jeep use a graph showing the fill level at different temperatures for their 722.6. Are you at liberty to divulge who does your Tranny and Torque Converter repairs please? It may come in useful in future.
That is great value considering the amount of parts and labour. All the best.
Lovely job, saved a great car there. Glad your keeping better that’s the most important part
I promise I hadn't seen this one but very excited that I called the pick up pipe!! UA-cam desktop mechanic pro status lol. I don't think £7k is out of the way for all that work and to know you've got a fantastic car. Great video mate 😊
Great content and workmanship as always 👍🏽
Fabulous work to bring this rare gem back to factory health. You could tell it was a labour of love. Congratulations, new subscriber to the channel but fascinating to watch and learn. Thank you for the excellent content.
Thank you and welcome. Yea I real did enjoy getting this one back on the road, customer was a pleasure to deal with also which makes things easier.
Love the humour! Cheers
Good value to that customer. Shows your love of the 'special ones'
Thanks for the video, I had the same gearbox issue back on my CLK270 in October last year, ruined my day! Good stuff.
The 3 pointed star is a nice touch. For the w210 E55 we retrofit the rear trunk emblem off the S Class, because they always fall off.
That’s great info 🙌👍
Great video once again!👍👍👍
Nice touch at the end aswell well done lads 👍
Your vids arre so great and fun to watch. Please never stop or surrender.
Great video
A very reasonable price for what has been. You do things properly and do not cut corners. Cost effective quality is how i would describe what you do.
New subscriber.
W208 55AMG and 430 Convertible owner.
M113 Engine is incredible.
Learned loads.
Thanks.
Thanks for the sub! And glad you’re learning along the way.
Hope you're back to full health now Sam. Excellent video as always, such care for detail and pride in work is a rarity these days. Well done.
Why didn't you replace the rear main seal when there?
Hi! Cool video! What oil did you use in rear differential please and what quantity? Cheers
Sounds a lot of cash, but considering how much work has been done it’s really very good value. Great job done!
You guys are top professionals
Faulty radiators allowing coolant into the trans. were Valeo , used in cars built up to Sept 2003 . After that they should be unaffected.. Behr are the better ones.
Select carbon filter on the AC and it won't click.
Great work ,,the car will now run well for years to come.
thank you for the update. keep getting well. you are irreplaceable.
Great video Sam, I wish all garages operated with such honesty, integrity and enthusiasm. Love the deadpan humour and I am sure your channel will just grow and grow. Hope your ill health problems have now been resolved as well. Any more collabs coming up with Matt from High Peak Autos - another person who is a credit to the car trade (cant believe I said that!).
Many thanks, plenty more to come, and more deadpan humour 😂
Nothing planned but I’m sure we will work together at some point.
Excellent rehab of a worthy example
I just bought a cls500 382hp and I thought 75000 miles would be good on a gearbox, tempted to get it serviced now
Another fantastic video well worth the wait and great to see artisans at work ...well done lads ....cant wait for a new episode 🏆👍
Absolute Bargain. I left Bury North Manchester in 2010. Now Living in Mississauga Ontario Canada. I Dream of the Day we can have you Brits over here as Mechanics. By the Way which Tesco's did fill up from ?
The transmission refurb was pricey but it is peace of mind for the customer. Genuine Mercedes parts can sometimes be pricey but they're always money well spent as I found out with the front control arms I bought for my 2009 W204 C200. That is a beautiful CLK and the money spent will help to maintain the value of the car.
I have missed your videos. I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell but hope that you are on the mend now. 😢
Oh yeah. 6700q is honest and fair price for the work to get a basically brand new AMG.
Cracking job that. Quality costs. Nothing unreasonable about that at all.
Another great video, very informative, good project, look forward to more!
Another great video. I think on how much it cost is a bargain considering the mileage and condition and all the work done.
Was in Tameside Trans sent gearbox for overhaul ??? Most used box repair centre here Manchester. They're not cheap.
Yes but didn't you clean the ashtray 3 months ago? It was fine until you did that
Great content again, keep up the good gents
