There are boots being listed as "Goodyear-Welted" on Chinese sites that look to be high quality copies of Red Wing Iron Rangers going for around 100 dollars. Would be curious to see how they compare, as this is a bit biased as you often get what you pay for. 30 dollar Temu specials are going to perform like 30 dollar Temu specials....
There was a video on the channel, cutting open some $50 Red wing lookalikes, but the video has apparently been taken down. They were surprisingly well made, considering the price point, there are much nicer chinese boots available in Aliexpress, but unfortunately you can't find them here for now at least.
Appreciate the video. the problem with Temu is that they can say whatever they want about products and no one can do anything about them lying. Also I don't really know how much a good shoe (or whatever other product) is supposed to cost, the $300 shoe is going to be better than the $30 temu shoe, but how much of the expensive shoe goes into the materials and craftmanship, and how much goes into transport, logistics, margins, business expenses, branding and marketing etc... That obfuscation really works in temu's favor
You mean like this (cough cough) REVIEW? None of the listings on those claim to be leather. If you're not satisfied SEND THEM BACK, they pay the return shipping too!!
Boots 5-10x the price look better and will last a lifetime -BUT if you can't afford that just yet, don't be afraid to rock some cheap TEMU knockoffs for the short term.
I have bought lots of small stuff from temu. All with the 50% off coupons that always seem available. I'm pleased with the quality and price of the things I bought. Ofc I would never expect to get high quality shoes from there😂.
i wear boots that are supplied to kmart australia and cost $80Aus. I wear them most days and they last about 2 years before the sole splits. I admit that $700 boots would last longer but i'm not sure about 20 years. I have put orthopedia soles in and they are comfortable.

I used to work at Kohl's in the shoe department. I think that grayish one is identical to one that was at Kohl's a few years ago for more or less the same price. Not sure if that's an indictment on Temu or Kohl's
Kohls and other boutique retailers found out they can drop ship a shipping container of chinese shoes for $1,000, and then relabel those shoes with their own store brand, sell them at a 95% markup, and make over quintuple the amount back they spent on the original shipment. This happens already with a lot of appliances and vacuum cleaners sold under store brands.
Can you check out the Panama Jack boots? They are made in Spain and are the best bang for buck shoes ive ever had. Mine are 2 seasons old now and they barely look worn
Do you have an opinion on Redskins boots? I really like the style and the materials they use (some even have a zipper for convenience) but I don't know about their durability and long term comfort quality. Thanks!
honestly if these Chinese factories are taking time to add a fake stitch into the sole why not just get rid of that and actually stitch the sole to the upper like Jordan does on the Jordan 1?
Could you incorporate lead testing with these materials as well? You can get a lead reactive dye (marker) and use a blacklight to see the item has any lead in the item. Typically everything sold in dollar stores have a lot of lead paint/parts so I was wondering if this goes across the board for cheaper made materials.
Your videos are great, keep up the good work ! How about a video comparing the leather on the supposedly upgraded quality Air Force ones like the Nocta (Drake) or the white CPFM (cactus plant flee market) or the recent lil yachty pair (he claims the quality is better on those)
If you can do a review/cut up of the Keen Liberty. I'd like to see if they're viable outside of Thorogood's, Red Wing etc. Also look at Tecovas new line of work boots.
Teamy and Aliexpress are great for some nice Chinese brands. I used to buy Bona, for almost half the price of the local stores. Now I'm buying Hobibear, and it is also great. You just need to know, what brands you are looking for.
The difficult thing is, they do SAY it is leather. They even say it is leather on Amazon, when it is not leather, it is fake. It should be false advertising in the US to sell anything of non-advertised materials, which is why clothing has sewn in labels on fabrics stating percentages of cottons/polyester, etc. It isn't easy to shop for shoes. I've started getting very expensive handmade leather shoes and boots from Joes on Etsy, to combat this, but I don't even have a local cobbler anymore. I was lucky to find that seller.
There are some small gadgets from Temu that might be worth it but definitely not shoes.. For example, I both a windshield sun protector that works like an umbrella and beard trim apron that attaches to the mirror. Stuff that's very hard to mess up.
I’ve bought a few shoes like this for my kids. They wear them maybe 6 times to formal events and then they outgrow them. I also buy cheap winter boots because we’re only in the snow once or twice a season and so far they’re working out pretty well. I even got myself a pair of winter boots for $37 and they’ve lasted 3 seasons already without any sign of damage. My old high quality boots just simply aged out rather than wear. So I’m glad to have cheaper options like this.
probably still better than the new converse chucks i got that only lasted about 3 months, you pay almost $70 for garbage, im done with that brand never again

@@adamarzo559 you're so edgy!
Why are iphones not made in the US
@@winterwatson6437 lmao that one will fly over their heads
Is anyone really buying boots on Temu, expecting to get leather?
If you are, Rose should put your head on the belt
Awesome vid!
Thursday boots have a few new boots with stacked leather apparently. The challenger, the brawler and another I think
I have bought lots of small stuff from temu. All with the 50% off coupons that always seem available. I'm pleased with the quality and price of the things I bought. Ofc I would never expect to get high quality shoes from there😂.
I would love to see a video of H&M-Zara sneakers. They feel like absolute trash but are you actually getting something decent?
Same sweatshop, different materials?
I'd love to see you cut open a pair of eytys angels, they're a swedish brand and I've always thought they had great quality.
To be fair being plastic they are probably 100% water proof and is you were to wear them with thick wool socks you may get a lot of use out of them
i wear boots that are supplied to kmart australia and cost $80Aus. I wear them most days and they last about 2 years before the sole splits. I admit that $700 boots would last longer but i'm not sure about 20 years. I have put orthopedia soles in and they are comfortable.
I have bought lovely shoes on temu.
I’m not expecting leather for the price
It would be awesome if you offered an adjustable clip on purse strap!
have you done any of the aliexpress/dhgate redwings iron ranger style boots
I get bits and bobs on there and I've been happy with 90% of the things i have purchased. Some of it literally identical to things my friends have paid 4x the amount in the UK
This comment brought to you by the thousands of Chinese and South East Asian netizens that are paid to defend Chinese industry and the CCP on the internet.
These will be fine for a couple of years.....
I used to work at Kohl's in the shoe department. I think that grayish one is identical to one that was at Kohl's a few years ago for more or less the same price. Not sure if that's an indictment on Temu or Kohl's
I wouldn't doubt that
The indictment is on Kohl's
Kohls and other boutique retailers found out they can drop ship a shipping container of chinese shoes for $1,000, and then relabel those shoes with their own store brand, sell them at a 95% markup, and make over quintuple the amount back they spent on the original shipment. This happens already with a lot of appliances and vacuum cleaners sold under store brands.
I really appreciate the work but you should probably be more cautious with the fumes coming out of those temu things
No one cares about the product to the company it’s just a number
Because doing it right would increase cost.
Functionally a sneaker stitch is not great for boots because it makes them less water resistant - which these, being 100% plastic - are.
I found barefoot boots on Temu for $22. I could buy 10 pairs for about $230 and not need to buy another pair for five years. 🤷
I like the brute band saw only cut in half.
Could you try cutting apart some Bright Shoemakers boots? Combat Boot maybe. They seem like decent quality.
You get whatever you don't find anywhere else. Actually!
Would love to see you take a look on "Panama Jack" made in Spain.
i fw u bro keep it up
I bought a pair at Marks Work Warehouse, exactly the same
Could you incorporate lead testing with these materials as well? You can get a lead reactive dye (marker) and use a blacklight to see the item has any lead in the item. Typically everything sold in dollar stores have a lot of lead paint/parts so I was wondering if this goes across the board for cheaper made materials.
Your videos are great, keep up the good work ! How about a video comparing the leather on the supposedly upgraded quality Air Force ones like the Nocta (Drake) or the white CPFM (cactus plant flee market) or the recent lil yachty pair (he claims the quality is better on those)
Thanks ❤
If you can do a review/cut up of the Keen Liberty. I'd like to see if they're viable outside of Thorogood's, Red Wing etc. Also look at Tecovas new line of work boots.
you get most of the time what you pay for, I paid $270 for my work boot, 5 years still have them
Teamy and Aliexpress are great for some nice Chinese brands.
Even if there's potential lead and heavy metal contaminants?
@ am I eating my boots?
No, but it's making contact with your sweaty feet through wool socks.
i still have arizona boots that i bought in 2003. cut grass in them. don't hurt my feet to this day.
Nice Tyler Childers hoodie
Not sure about shoes (never bought any) but I bought a good amount of bits and bobs and they were good for the price
I'll never complain about shopping locally for my shoes, ever again 😂
probably still better than the new converse chucks i got that only lasted about 3 months, you pay almost $70 for garbage, im done with that brand never again
In Finland we used to say that "the poor can't afford to buy cheap". Same with TEMU
