I would rather have this over a Golf GTI and I am german and I love german cars so it means something... The i30N looks great from the outside and from the inside and its something special. Here in germany you see a Golf GTI everywhere so it got kind of boring

Einzig die kupplung ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, die kommt echt ziemlich früh! Aber man gewöhnt sich dran! Der Innenraum kommt nicht ganz an vw ran aber ich könnte damit leben! In 6 Wochen bekommt der händler einen rein genau so wie ich ihn haben will, auch in Rot wie der im video! Wenn alles passt dann schlag ich wahrscheinlich zu! 😏
I am still impressed how Hyundai improved their car development in the last years. I like this I30 N. To be honest, it´s a great deal for the money and you do not see these cars that often as the almost boring GTI VW.
Hi AutotopNL, I like your reviews, your english is 1st class and I like the things you talk about,. Only thing i'd say in this review is that you went on for a while about the infotainment screen, I've just test drove the same car and its not that bad, resolution is very good and the colours are bright. Its also a decent shape, the ones in BMW's like like half the screen is stuck inside the cheap plastic. The screen does everything a modern car demands so don't hate it too much ;)
To be honest, most AWD hot hatches are FWD cars with a little rear wheel support. Yeah, it's cool, but this car with the LSD is probably pretty much as good as any AWD car in this class, and lighter weight.

The 300+ horsepower will come in the next edition. Biermann is no fool, he knows that to go after the STi. RS, Type R and Golf R ... first you need to get the platform out in the market. The increase required in horsepower is the easy bit. What I'm really curious is how this chassis would cope with slapping on the 3.3 V6 GDI with AWD. That would be a 400hp beast for perhaps around 40k while still carrying a 5-year warranty on it!
Don’t agree with the comments regarding the touchscreen, have no problems with the way it looks or operates, much better than systems used in some other manufacturers. The only slight negative for me is that it could have been a bit more sporty and special inside as it’s a bit drab, but overall this is a fantastic fun car.
100% agree. It doesn’t lag. The processor is fast so you’re not waiting ages for it to do something. It doesn’t have fancy transition animations, but that’s okay because it’s just a snappy, fuss-free system to use. The navigation system doesn’t get talked about enough. It’s got an incredible amount of information when you’re using it without being super confusing. It just works and that’s enough. Definitely one of the best systems out there.
Everyone banging on about the 308gti being either of better quality or superior performance are forgetting that this is Hyundai's first serious entry into the market whereas Peugeot have been in this game many years. In my opinion this is the first of many great machines to come! 👍
This car is ok but the good thing is that Hyundai N Department will continue to improve the car during the year. So, facelift version can be more impressive than this current version. Good job
That extra weight also makes the car more secure in collisions. So besides being a drawback in terms of handling has at least this advantage. Imagine how would be the second generation since they nailed on the first try xD

I'm buying a white one of these on Monday 😁 Also... I wreckon if it was raining and the windscreen was actually wet when the wipers were being used at top speed they wouldn't struggle that much, most wipers struggle on a dry wipe 🤷♂️
1.4T seems heavy but isnt a golf like 1.7T The trim on the side vents and gearbox is similar to the design of the steering wheel and the touchscreen sits just above like the dash which is clever
i love how u get thigh extenders and some leather in this, but in america the veloster N is complete plastic and cloth. they have to bring this to the states
1,400 kg or 3,086 lbs IS NOT heavy for a car in this segment. In fact it's on the lighter side. The golf gti is around 100 lbs heavier. The R being heavier than that. The Ford Focus RS is even heavier still.

Was sold on this review until old mate said he didn't like the hardware and software on the heads up display xD The i30 N isn't heavy compared to others in it's category which is why it's concerning to hear old mate in the video compare it to other hot hatches. So many pro's and so many con's to the video and the car!
I cant understand what is so bad about the N mode in suspension settings.Obviously it is built for race track and hard cornering but personally I would rather drive it in N mode in high speeds and hill climbs as in this setting the car is definitely safer and more accurate in handling.There is no such thing as high speed cornering and comfort.This combination is just an illusion and a very deadly one! if you think the N mode is very stiff then what about my car with Bilstein Pss14 driven on Greek "quality roads"!No people with herniated discs or neck problems are allowed in my car!!!
I'm very curious to see how much the engines can be pushed in terms of power. I believe RaceChip has a 320hp, 453nm i30N which is fantastic. I'd like to see 350hp and 500nm. Can't wait til mine arrives. Pearl White i30N Performance with Panoramic Sunroof and all the extra bells and whistles.
Wich car is less heavy and has this power or more? I compare all cars this class for a while. Hard to decide wich I should buy. Fiesta St worst brakes and just 3 cylinders. Others too expensive.

I would still get the mk7.5 GTI performance over this one. Just much more luxurious and comfy. AND you geht the DSG. But if you wanted a car as quick and nimble as the i30 N you would have to get the GTI Clubsport.
Love the car! Side note, I've never seen this kind of road. I noticed the car coming at 7:10 and freaked out, how does it work? You have the whole lane and if another car is oncoming you both swerve onto the side lane? We don't have this in Australia.
This is a fairly normal country road in Europe. There are also lanes, but they are not marked. In oncoming traffic you make room, if it is a larger vehicle you may have to stop and drive onto the grass.
I have to say, Hyhundai did above and beyond my expectations. The body design will get better in future refreshes. The only question I have is RELIABILITY, and the price is a litle too high IMO. Never buy 1st gen model!!!!!!!!
I would buy it whit a Duel Clutch Transmission. (Yes i know what you guys think but i think Automatic is always superior) But i could get used to it again.

We have the Veloster N in North America and it is a great car. The weight is not bad and I would still consider this light for a small car.

It has good acceleration and sounds very well. It's quite lacking though at high speed, this is probably due to the heavy weight and lack of torque.

best and probably the only variant of the i30 one should buy, hate my regular i30 with a passion just feels cheap as hell compared to a golf

I have one. You also have to take into account an average of 20mpg in town and tyres are around £140 each.

Wheel hop shows the difference between Hyundai and Honda. Wont get a twitch from the wheel in the Civic type R.
The touchscreen works perfectly fine in mine and strangely fast i would say. I can’ t understand why it does lag that much in yours :/
