Best way to work with the files is just pull the sd card from your 360 cam, plug it into your card reader, copy the files to your raid or whatever then drop it into Premiere or whatnot and you an use GoPro Reframe and the game is on. It's easier than you think. I thought I wouldnt use these things but I'm sold
It took me a year to figure out that ANY punch-in with this camera is not worth it unless absolutely neccessary, so I started planning to just do shots that are as wide as possible. I don't mind the elaborate workflow as long as I get the shots I need with as little fuss WHILE shooting.
Thanks as always! I sold mine for reasons you mentioned. The workflow was more than I was willing to commit to. Someone with more skill will make videos that look amazing with this camera.
I understand your frustration completely 🤣, I had the camera listed on offer up for a few minutes, before reevaluating and trying again. Been using it off and on, have a lot of footage at this point, and it's been growing on me despite owning for a year lol. Second chances sometimes work out 😅
Good video and explanations! I sent mine back shortly after buying as the battery was drained while turned off. Realized I didn't need a 360 cam anyway but the biggest drawback was no 4K for one side recordings. Kept the 3 meter selfie stick though as it makes cool shots with the pocket 2
i think the battery drain was fixed via fw. there was another issue with fast start recording(which isnt all that fast) and the memory card. that was also fixed, it is an improving device, however the workflow will always be a little slower. i swear it took 20-30 minutes rendering out some clips i did over the weekend.
That shot all by itself seems like a compelling reason for me to look at buying this thing! I hear what you are saying in that its a lot of work in managing/editing the footage. What about the image quality from the 1in. Sensors, low light, the 360 degrees views? Do these features wear thin in comparison to all you have to put up with? Are you going to keep it?
the image quality is well below 1" cameras, however, when corrected and reframed, it's almost at the level of modern action cameras, it is low, however the angles it can do, and the fact that no other device can do said angles, that's what makes it amazing, a makeshift drone, super easy hyperlapses, etc. I'm keeping it for sure, especially now that I've figured out how to edit it extremely fast in a proper editor. My biggest issue now is comparing it both the action 4 and pocket 3. Will be going to a lunar new year celebration tonight and very likely taking the big camera along with the 360, for the simple fact that I can leave it near the stage, get crow reaction, get an ultrawide low angle stage, all with one camera. The other larger camera for A roll. I can definitely get better IQ + timecode with the pocket 3, but I dont have two, it's more fragile, and it gets me one view......... Anyhow, there are flaws other than what I've mentioned, but insta fixed some via firmware, and an upcoming cage fixes the weight balance issue, which I'll describe in a future video.
@@CharlieVNI see thanks for explaining. The application you are planning for the concert sounds like an awesome idea. From what you are saying it does have strengths but also qirks😮.
360 cameras are amazing as accident recorders due to reframing in post production. Especially, in bicycles, motorbikes but cars as well. I still use X2 though. How does One RS 1" Edition record in low light conditions?
I have the same camera but when it is very sunny the image is completely burnt out. I have to increase the shutter speed to the maximum (and sometimes it's not even enough) because I can't find an nd filter for this camera. What do you usually do to record in very bright conditions?
sorry, insta laughs at channels my size, they pretend I dont exist when I speak with them. My guess would be no since this is more of their flagship style camera, which gets less frequent updates. Only a guess.
@@CharlieVN yes UA-cam is a hard market to break into now. Hard when you enjoy spending time making a videos on and then no one gets to see it because it doesn’t make them money advertising. Like the old saying the rich get richer 🙂🙂. Been really tempted with the x4 as my first 360; just finding it hard to press the purchase button 🙂🙂
all of the late model insta360 cameras have a mode where you can shoot conventional, and using as a 360 camera, I dont have issues with, it's the proprietary file system that is really bothersome, I love the flat file that comes after converting those files, but I'd rather skip a step if possible.
take a look at the X3, they're latest model, it allows you to film with one side at a time. The demand for it exits, people often use this as an action cam replacement, which would be a more normal/conventional filming method.
Bruh....when you record in such high ress😢😂❤it's nice...but your right about the bag of chips, and saving the data in your phone and editing, editing creates more data needed and the app will have these edits saved in some memory too😢😢😢😢witch makes my phone have less space in the storage memory😢😮😂fml

From my understanding, the x3 version can record 1 camera at a time. Another thing is that you don’t have the “flat” file from the get go, have to convert via app to get that file.
@@JeanKader-k7s I am referring to the "flat" footage, the equirectangular footage that needs to be exported in order to use on a proper editor. That should be the default footage rather than the pair of proprietary files, which has to go into the 360 studio

I work with final cut and exporting 360 footage is the only way that works? Yeah, it’s a great little device as long as you can manage the workflow.

Put the near camera to the window almost touching, turn to tiny planet mode, it’s not actually outside as most viewers think 😂, an optical illusion.
