Just watched this video. thanks. can you elaborate about using this type for "bullet time" result eventhough there is no bullet time option in the menu?
You can shoot at a lower resolution and a higher frame rate - I can’t remember how high the frame rate is - it may only be 50fps. You then swing it around (at your risk as it’s not recommended) and then you can edit using viewfinder mode or in snap mode and sit in a swivel chair and keep yourself in the middle of the shot. It is risky though which is why insta don’t promote it or have it as a feature.

Yes the export is so inconsistent with the app as well - I get offered max 720, then max 1080, as well as different maximum bit rate options. If you export from the story editor the resolution is higher but still only 1440 I think. And then in the desktop app it’s 4K. It would be great to have 4K export on the phone app.
In the studio you can export at 4K but in the app only 1080 - usually it’s a bit higher when you use the story maker at around 1440 I think but I haven’t tried it in stories with this camera
Hello there! The official website says the extendible selfie stick (3 metres), the power selfie stick and the invisibile plus tripod selfie stick are not compatible with this camera, but why?
I don’t think they want to encourage people to use longer selfie sticks and ones with tripods because of the camera weight. I haven’t tested the power selfie stick yet with this camera
Hi i’ve been using a One X and recently upgraded to One Inch 360. For both cameras when I edit / reframe and export from my mobile app, the quality looks good. But the max resolution is HD When I use the desktop studio, the export quality seems very bad, even with 75mbps or 100mbps bit rate. I’m not sure if i cropped too much during the reframing, i used the default options / views and didnt zoom in further Also for desktop studio there doesnt seem to be preset options for HD or 4K etc. i have to manually enter the resolution for myself. Would you know what’s the best options for the 2 issues I have? Thanks alot!
A couple of things - you can get higher resolution in the app by using the story editor to edit your clips - you can then export at a resolution of 1440. In the studio the resolution always looks terrible in the software until you’ve exported. Yes you have to import the 4K resolution manually. I export using pro res 422 as this seems to give the best quality. Make sure you haven’t only imported the LRV files as these are for previewing - import all of the files on your card. Hope this helps.
@@EatSleep360 got it thanks so much! Sorry one other question - in the desktop studio app, for the reframing - which is the best option? I usually click on this button that looks like a slanted rectangle, and it’ll straighten the edges. I dont usually zoom further in, just the default. Is this option ok? Or is that option too much zoom / crop in that affects the quality? May i know what’s the best “reframe / view” for best quality for linear videos with straightened edges?
@@EatSleep360 I see!! Thanks for the reply. Because I am hesitating between buying an external spatial mic for the one x2 or simply go for the RS 1 inch. What about the stitch line with people at 75cm distance? Seem pretty bad with the RS 1inch

@@EatSleep360 yep, that's one side of the coin, the other would be basically keeping all the improvements from X to X2. I'm not a critic of R and the modularity, I just have no personal use or interest in it and prefer the slim and compact design of the X-series. The other thing would be a >250g photo (non racing) 360 drone...😉
nope... i think i will stay with my One X2 ... less things to go wrong and go wrong with.. Thanks for the review as always and for the info on this One RS.. Good thought of taking the One X2 and turning it modular.. but nah.. i dont like what they have done and the issues with the overheating, sd card placement and all the adapters needed that you have to buy additionally to line Insta360's pockets with hard earned money
Shoot in 4k 50 (I don’t think it goes slower) and then manually create the bullet time by adding key frames in the app. If you it in a chair and use viewfinder mode you can spin around more easily- hope this helps
I'm missing one important thing with this camera: a soft pouch, like the one you get with the X2. Anyone seen a pouch for the 1-Inch 360 edition or an alternative?
I haven’t tested under pure star light only ambient traffic and street light. The images produced natural contrast and were fairly clean but there was still noise in the darkest parts of the sky. But it looked like there were artefacts in the sky opposed to noise grain so this may be cleaned up with a firmware update
You can make tweaks in the app with basic colour, contrast, add filters etc but to do a proper grade you can shoot in log mode which you set on the camera and then you have maximum dynamic range and can add a lut using Insta360 studio or a professional edit software like Adobe premiere. You can download a lut from the Insta360 website under downloads.
nice review, however as a 360 motovlogger myself, I been using one x2 for long time, been hopeing insta360 will annouce one x2's next generation product, but after watching lots of review videos , I have to say insta360 one rs 1 inch is NOT for motovloging, insta360 even officially mentioned it on their purchasing page, that this camera is not for action or high speed, and it can not be used with fully extended selfie stick ( due to its weight I guess). Anyway this 1 inch is really a new era for 360 video making, for me I guess I will keep on waiting for " One X3"
Yes ONE X2 is definitely a better action camera and motovlog camera. I have used it on an extended selfie stick but you just put the camera at a greater risk. It’s super heavy compared to the X2 so not comfortable to hold for too long on a selfie stick. I hope the X3 isn’t too heavy and big when that comes out eventually.
Yes shoot in highest frame rate as possible which I think is only 50/60 at 4k I can’t remember - then just manually reframe it in the edit. The easiest way is to use view finder mode or snap editor mode and sit in a spinning chair to track the movement. You could also try deep track. Hope this helps
Yes it depends what 360 camera you have and what you use it for and what the spec is. For virtual tours it’s worth the upgrade if you are doing it to make money. For social media use then you could just stick with the camera you have.
I just don't know what the heck Insta 360 is doing any more.... The quality of the footage you shot with that new lens looks pretty crappy in my opinion. The focus of this new 360 lens should have been to create a 360 camera that shoots in 4k from both lens (8k) not 3k + 3k (6k). We are half way through the year 2022 now. 4k video has been the standard for at least 4 years now. Yes, 3k video looks OK for social media posts that are played on a phone. However, these larger, high-end, expense lenses are not really for that application. They should be more for professionals, At the very least, professional content makers for social media. What the market really needs is a 360 camera that shoots in 4k from both lenses and is not the size of volley ball like Insta's pro 360 cameras. There needs to be a model in the middle. And what the hell happened to the 180 dual lens module that was advertised with the One R for 2 years? Now that would have been useful to capture a good 4k image in 180 degrees.
Yes it does seem that the price is aiming towards higher end but the resolution isn’t following. I think the big problem is that there is no competition so insta are dominating the market. It would be great if GoPro could raise the bar and then everyone would have to follow. Maybe the X3 will be the game changer in terms of resolution if that happens. Thanks for your comment.
I have to agree with BikeRidez on this. The quality of the 360 video is terrible, especially the stitching. I've tried all of the stitching and calibration modes and I always end up with bad stitching. I've also noticed, recently with my One RS that part of my hand and forearm keeps showing when holding the selfie stick over my head. This never used to happen with my One R as far as I can remember. There really needs to be a 360 camera with 4k reframe ability. I too think 3k is useless by todays standards.
Agree - would have liked an 8k. I suspect that some of the image issues might be connected with early firmware and this will improve. If an X3 is going to be made I might hold off - but at the moment I do not know of a reasonable priced 360 that is better than this. You will not get too much from any blog currently as they are nearly all sponsored by Insta360 and do not want to rock the boat.....

The RS has a wider body and will have stitch line issues as you get closer to the camera and especially if you place your subject on the stitch line. The bigger distance between the two lenses means this issue is made bigger with the 1-inch lens so you have to be more mindful of distances and stitchline placement.
There aren’t any cameras this size yet with 10 bit capability unfortunately especially 360 cameras. I think the RX0 is the closest in terms of size but it’s not 360.
@@EatSleep360 True, though Kandao did it years ago, and 8K at that. Granted, those Kandao sensors weren’t 1-inch, but considering Insta360’s non-1” mods also aren’t 10bit, it seems to not be something they are concerned with, which is a shame.

Too pricey and too easily damaged. So easy to get a scratch or chip on the lenses of these cameras .Yes you can get covers but they screw the stitching line most of the time .

For this camera 8k would make sense because it’s being aimed at a higher end with a higher price point where 8k is needed - for most stuff where the editing is done on the phone 8k would be too power hungry unless they could implement proxy files of some sort.

Is the lens easy get scratched?
Yes the same with any 360 camera - this one is bigger and has no
Lens guards
good spec improvement but id prefer a higher resolution 360 camera after reframing
Yes the export is so inconsistent with the app as well - I get offered max 720, then max 1080, as well as different maximum bit rate options. If you export from the story editor the resolution is higher but still only 1440 I think. And then in the desktop app it’s 4K. It would be great to have 4K export on the phone app.
what is the resolution when 360 video is exported as flat ?
In the studio you can export at 4K but in the app only 1080 - usually it’s a bit higher when you use the story maker at around 1440 I think but I haven’t tried it in stories with this camera
Where did you get that tiny tripod?
From amazon - it’s a joby micro tripod but I can’t seem to see it on there now
@@EatSleep360 thx for replying
Does it have a removable battery?
Yes
🤙🏼 *Quick & to the point* 👏🏼🤙🏼
Hello there! The official website says the extendible selfie stick (3 metres), the power selfie stick and the invisibile plus tripod selfie stick are not compatible with this camera, but why?
I don’t think they want to encourage people to use longer selfie sticks and ones with tripods because of the camera weight. I haven’t tested the power selfie stick yet with this camera
@@EatSleep360 thanks for your reply. I'd like to buy the Power selfie stick and the tripod, I hope they work! 😓
Does it have an action cam mode like the One X2 and if so, does it output in 4k?
No it doesn’t
Thank you
Hi i’ve been using a One X and recently upgraded to One Inch 360. For both cameras when I edit / reframe and export from my mobile app, the quality looks good. But the max resolution is HD
When I use the desktop studio, the export quality seems very bad, even with 75mbps or 100mbps bit rate. I’m not sure if i cropped too much during the reframing, i used the default options / views and didnt zoom in further
Also for desktop studio there doesnt seem to be preset options for HD or 4K etc. i have to manually enter the resolution for myself.
Can I use my ONe R Core with this I wonder
Yes it should have been update yesterday when the camera launched
How's the audio? Compared to the One X2?
I haven’t done a side by side comparison but it seems to be the best audio yet and you can adjust the input level which is a great feature
@@EatSleep360 I see!! Thanks for the reply. Because I am hesitating between buying an external spatial mic for the one x2 or simply go for the RS 1 inch. What about the stitch line with people at 75cm distance? Seem pretty bad with the RS 1inch
Awesome camera, but definitely not meant for action. I hope to one day see a Go 360 😁👍🏼
It’s not but you can get some great action shots if youre careful mounting it.
@@EatSleep360 that's totally right, but in my case I do enduro mountain biking, so I need it to be really water proof and need some sort of protection for the lenses. That's why I got the One X2 with the premium lens guard, all thanks to your reviews and advise. Keep up the great work! :D
might be a hint what to expect for a possible X3...
Honestly I'd sign in for such one (X2 1" 6k edition)
Yes I just hope they keep the slim design like the X2 - no bigger than theta x for example
Great review!
nope... i think i will stay with my One X2 ... less things to go wrong and go wrong with..
I think there will be a one x3 and this is just another RS add-on - but yes it’s not for everyone
@@EatSleep360 Thanks for the reply and yeah.. totally agree with you!
Great vid!
Can you tell if this camera supports GSV (Google street View)
I don’t think it does but this may come as a future update
Do you know if there is any way to get GPS data into the 1inch360 like we could on the 360 R. Many thanks.
I haven’t tried it but doesn’t it just connect with the app and activate gps that way?
So they are reconfiguring bits and selling them on at a steep price, think I'll stick with my one X2, great review Rich
How did you do bullet time with one re 1nce. Can’t seem to figure it out lol
Anyone seen a pouch for the 1-Inch 360 edition or an alternative?
how about night noise?
I haven’t tested under pure star light only ambient traffic and street light. The images produced natural contrast and were fairly clean but there was still noise in the darkest parts of the sky. But it looked like there were artefacts in the sky opposed to noise grain so this may be cleaned up with a firmware update
how do you go about grading
You can make tweaks in the app with basic colour, contrast, add filters etc but to do a proper grade you can shoot in log mode which you set on the camera and then you have maximum dynamic range and can add a lut using Insta360 studio or a professional edit software like Adobe premiere. You can download a lut from the Insta360 website under downloads.
@Eat Sleep 360 but would you grade it first then take it to insta 360 or vice versa?
Thank you! Why didn't they just make a One X2 1" ? (that's almost a password) Or do you think that's next?
That would be The One X3!
I would imagine that is what they’ll focus on next - this is launched on the back of the RS mod
Sadly, there is no inbuilt GPS receiver and (currently) it's not compatible with Insta's own GPS Smart Remote 😞
Shame it’s not compatible with the remote - hopefully that will be updated at some point
nice review, however as a 360 motovlogger myself, I been using one x2 for long time, been hopeing insta360 will annouce one x2's next generation product, but after watching lots of review videos , I have to say insta360 one rs 1 inch is NOT for motovloging, insta360 even officially mentioned it on their purchasing page, that this camera is not for action or high speed, and it can not be used with fully extended selfie stick ( due to its weight I guess).
Brilliant
Is there a hack to do bullet time on the 1inch
Yes shoot in highest frame rate as possible which I think is only 50/60 at 4k I can’t remember - then just manually reframe it in the edit. The easiest way is to use view finder mode or snap editor mode and sit in a spinning chair to track the movement. You could also try deep track. Hope this helps
I was waiting for live streaming for launch
Dual 1" sensor... that's huge.
What is the maximum resolution if you export it to 16:9?
I’ve only exported via the desktop which is 4K (3840 x 2160). I need to test more with the app but it will probably be restricted.
I get it has a bit better low light performance, but if you have a 360 camera already i can't see much to upgrade for? Comments?
@@EatSleep360 do you have any info about a release date?

this lens has stitch line issue but very few people are discussing, most paid youtuber are not showing this flaws
The RS has a wider body and will have stitch line issues as you get closer to the camera and especially if you place your subject on the stitch line. The bigger distance between the two lenses means this issue is made bigger with the 1-inch lens so you have to be more mindful of distances and stitchline placement.

Needs to be 10-bit, otherwise more of the same with bigger sensors.
@@brianwilliams4686 yes that’s so true how Kandao were way ahead of the game - they just didn’t have the backing to keep it going

Guess it's time to sell my organs.
i personally dont think the video with this new camera looks good at all compared to the one x2, the stich line is horrendous
Yeah the one x2 stitching is inevitably better because of the narrower body
Too pricey and too easily damaged. So easy to get a scratch or chip on the lenses of these cameras .Yes you can get covers but they screw the stitching line most of the time .
The problem is not Insta360, the problem is my billings ... sad
First !
Yet another HARD pass for me. Insta360 isn't making much headway with thier releases. Looks very not worth the crazy price they're asking. 👎
I'll stick with my ONE X 2
動きのある動画で誤魔化しているだけ
8K無いのでキツイ
so its another One Rs series ....
Unfortunately I think another relative fail whatever the paid hype boys say. video doesn't look any different on my monitors playing stuff from the x2 side by side. insta doesn't seem to listen as it seems to me the overwelming comments seem to be what 8K
For this camera 8k would make sense because it’s being aimed at a higher end with a higher price point where 8k is needed - for most stuff where the editing is done on the phone 8k would be too power hungry unless they could implement proxy files of some sort.
@@EatSleep360 well I don't know what phone you have but my 2 odd year old phone records 8k and I just to see if it works have edited it on it without any real problems, other than screens to small, so do it all on my desktop or laptop
Insta360 is shady company. The shipment is still at the airport and it’s been 1 month. Dumbest company with worst customer service. Please don’t buy and deal with struggle and lots your money. Horrible company.
