So cool. I tried to crochet years ago, even had my mother-in-law try to teach me, but it was one of those things that was beyond me. I'm gonna watch your videos and give it another go.
I tried to teach my daughters to knit, they didn't like it one bit😁 My oldest got into crocheting though, years later, and does amazing stuff, she even made me socks! Love them, but I keep knitting! 😊
I haven't crocheted in years, I used to knit too! I never made anything but my Aunt who taught me made all kinds of things. Thanks for the video you make it look so easy.
Those look very warm and cute! It's been so long since I've crocheted, and I barely knew anything. I'm going to have to take some time and go through your series the next rainy day we get. ❤
I was looking and looking for a leg warmer pattern in your playlist. I'm so happy that you did this video. I love leg warmers and now have my daughter wearing them. I've tried making them, but they never fit my thick calves. I'm starting this right now! Thanks for the love Hiedi! You are so appreciated!
Thanks Heidi! I'm working on some dish cloths but after I finish I think I need to make me some leg warmers. Have a blessed week and I look forward to your next video! :)
Very easy. Never realized how easy this is. I'm thinking I might make 1 for Mom's leg she lost just below knee. May have to adjust stitches up in # around as it's mainly thigh area & maybe not so many rows. Maybe half as many. Maybe only 15 rows. Thanks for the ideas.:)
I loved this video. Crochet is my thing! I love it. However I am not as fast as you. You have a very nice yarn bowl. I have so many things crochet but not that. By now I am usually well on my way to having a good amount of crochet items finished for our Harvest Festival that we have the first week of October. And so far all I have I not decided what to do for this year. I would love to do some leg warmers but it does not get that cold here. You are so multi-talented. You amaze me.
It may be best to watch and listen again because I will have to retype out my pattern to make it understandable as I abbreviate my own patterns quite a bit. It takes me a lot of time to do this so when I do, I then make them into a digital download that I sell on my store. I currently have two crochet patterns on my store but have been wanting to make time to type up more to list on there.
Love all of your videos and all of your tutorials Heidi, thankyou so much for taking the time to do all of this, would you consider doing tutorial for making a crocheted shawl like you make for the skirts, they are absolutely gorgeous ❤️
Hello i would like to ask u what u payed for your bowl u put the wool in like like it would like one to .Oh and i like your leg warmers they pretty to .Thank u so much .Thanks for showig us so nice how to make leg warmers i am greatful to u .💖🌷🌹🌼😘
Patrick made that bowl for me so I did not have to pay anything for it. He has thought of making them for our store but the time put into them would make them a bit expensive
Hi loved your video. So you make the adults all the same so size . Going to a vendor show in Nov and Dec and I would like to make some . If I want to make small , medium, large how would I change that Thank you
I do have a pattern for making the fingerless ones available on my Etsy store, it is something you just purchase and download through a link that gets emailed to you. Eventually I may to a how to video on that too when I get time :)
That's so cool! I had gifted to me some used leg warmers this winter. They were SO NICE! Especially with the -30 temperature we had this winter. It's made wearing skirts warmer than wearing pants. Question for you: do you ever have issue with static cling when you wear your frontier skirts with leggings/leg warmers. I made a couple frontier skirts based of your video (and LOVE them. They're my favorite!!!), but when I wear them with leggings, the static makes my skirt super clingy and I feel awkward. Have you ever had this trouble? If so, any thoughts? Thanks!
I have not really had much trouble with that myself but it could be that I hang my clothes to dry, this can make a difference. What I find most irritating is when we have to go to the store and it is windy and it makes the skirts blow between my legs so that I might as well just be wearing pants! hahaha! I can usually hold them out a little ways until I get into the store and that helps, but not always.
Variegated yarn is all different. Sometimes the colors are laid out in a certain way to make stripes but you would still have to figure just how many stitches and how tall of stitch you would need to use to get the stripes even.
Foundation chain is basically a single crochet and the foundation chain combined. I really do not care to make them because they take awhile but they can be worth it when needing more stretch at the foundation chain. I will try to do a video demonstration soon.
@@RainCountryHomestead so the only difference is the row attached to the first single crochet isn't a single crochet? I've never started a project without a foundation chain but didn't know there were differences
@@jaclynrichmond1049 I start my leg warmers with a foundation chain. The foundation single crochet is different than the foundation chain and is also different than a standard single crochet. As explained in this video, I chain 30, slip stitch in first chain to make a loop then either work double crochets or single crochets into the chain. The foundation single crochet is too complicated for me to try to explain in text. If you are wanting to learn that one, I will try to get how to video done on that soon but for now, just start with your standard chain like you normally would and work your stitches into that
@@RainCountryHomestead ok I get it. When you said foundation single crochet I just got confused because have never heard of it and wondered if my foundation chains have been wrong all along. Crochet language is hard to follow for beginners 😊 thanks so much for your help
It may be easiest just to listen and watch again than for me to take the extra time to type the full instructions here. It is really a matter of following the basic pattern and tailoring it to suit you
I did not drop stitches, what I meant was if you wanted to make them for very little girls, start with 25 stitches rather than 30. However, knowing how to decrease stitches is important for making other things and you can easily drop from 30 to 25 without holes. I will demonstrate this in a future video
It will depend on the size hook and how small. You can easily tailor it to suit whoever you are making them for and I believe I do cover that in the video
I am a small adult and the size shown here is what I make for myself. You still may have to adjust according to how tight your stitches are. If you are making it for yourself, you will be able to tell by trying it on as soon as you get your starting chain made to see if it will fit over the foot and fit on the ankle the way you want
Sometimes I cannot tell how things are going to look in the video, lighting can really play havoc on how things end up turning out, I initially thought the dark would show up better but that is why I also showed the stitching on the lighter colored items, however, as you can clearly see, that ended up being problematic with the lighting as well. As far as learning letter vs number vs mm sizes, there are free charts out there you can use. I always forget the number and mm sizes so I go by letter. Here is a chart so you can look up the sizes for yourself: www.crochethooksyou.com/crochet-hook-conversion-chart/
I do have it written down but need to finalize it before putting it up on my Etsy store. Maybe some time before I get to it as I am super busy right now but this is a video meant for visual learners that do not know how to read patterns
I never know when shooting these things how they will look in the light until I go to edit. Did the best I could and tried to show in a couple of different colors in case one was harder to see. Others have managed to use this video to make them though.
Love these, but it would be easier for us if you’d do the kids one separate or at the end or beginning and not going back and forth…took notes, but still confusing a bit.

Thank you for the quick and easy patterns.

Any worsted weight yarn will do

Do you sell your skirts anymore?
Yes, I try to get them up on the store as time allows but also do custom orders

Does anyone know how to get your stripes lined up with yarn that changes colors on its own , or should I not use that kind.
