Last show of the tour in Auckland, New Zealand, the band were treated to a traditional Ngāti Whātua Maori haka poroporoaki (farewell haka) after they left the stage. The experience ended with the traditional Hongi greeting (touching of noses).
Ngāti Whātua's haka was performed by Eru Rarere-Wilton's group KaiHaka and supported by local stage technician crews Evitan and Kiwi Krew.
Ngāti Whātua is a local Auckland tribe who work throughout Auckland advocating for environmentally sustainable practices, cultural heritage protection and the recognition and use of native biodiversity.

Queen + Adam Lambert - Haka Auckland
/ queenofficial
Brian's face during the haka is priceless lol The rubbing of noses is called a hongi 😊 Thank you Queen for appreciating our culture. Love from NZ❤
love from nz to
@@tsukigalleta its like a greeting but u touch noses
BRIAN IS SO FREAKING ADORABLE WHAT EVEN,, I CANNOT BREQTHE I LOVR HIM
i cannot watch a hakka without crying.
as far as i remember it means different things but this one is, you are mighty, a worthy opponent, we respect you by showing you our great strength. we would be a good match in war
That's a beautiful Haka , thank you for explaining this, I'm sure Queen will remember that forever.
This is only the 3rd time I saw this and it is incredibly moving although I don't know the exact meaning I can see the raw emotions in every movement of their body and face. It is so wonderful to see they keep the culture alive and share it with us...magnificent
Um completely wrong that’s not what it’s about at all it was composed by Te rau para ha and he first performed after he was chased by a rival tribe and then survived by hiding in the Kumara pit the rival tribe couldn’t enter as a wahine (woman) was sat upon it and women are considered tapu and when they Ka mate Ka mate Ka ora he’s asking if he will live or die ora meaning life mate meaning death so uhh no it’s got nothing to do with war
@@finreti6315 i apologize. i am merely repeating what i heard at the haka i was taken to. is it correct to say there is a haka for different communications?
@@donnasheveleff8768 my interpretation wasn't correct. see below
Hahah what a nice surprise, and look at Adam's face!! :) He's enjoying the culture! :)
Adam Lambert Hungary They are all such gentlemen. Brian and Roger are very worldly and gracious men. Adam, Rufus and Neil are all sweet, enthusiastic and open minded. This is new to them. Such a wonderful and interesting experience for the younger band members. The bass Player Neil Fairclough had the sweetest smile and enormous dimples when touching noses with them.
Адам сначала стоит как м...дак. Он явно не пришей кобыле хвост в группе
I love it, big, loud, tribal men and Adam Lambert with his Tiara, all coming together as it should be. No judgement, just respect.
Omg, I know that a Hongi is part of their culture, but based on CoVid, I almost fell over. I hope everyone is well. It shows just what a grateful and PROFESSIONAL band Queen is. Look how happy Rufus is...well done Roger.
OMG I LOVE BRIAN "Are they going to kill us!?" I'm wheezing LOL!
@Lorayne Patricio hahaha
I mean, last time the Brits showed up didn't go so well LOL
How amazing and what an honor to receive such a greeting. Much love and respect to all. Long live Queen!
Proud to be a kiwi here
Who else is?
Agent 47 Gaming Yep. But I’m Samoan.
But still.
Yo
Sure are proud.
@@DumbCoconut So Sa's are naturally accepted as kiwi's. 😊
Here
I'm gonna file this under Things I Never Expected to See.
This is awesome. I love watching the people at the very back screaming as hard as they can. Amazing culture.
My first first thought as I watched was a typically Western one...WOW! Thanks for sharing with someone like me, too old and lacking in funds to travel outside my own country but charmed by the impressive and ebullient greetings! Thanking all the participants
Wow. What an honour to be welcomed with a haka. It always gives me goosebumps. Thank you Queen for being respectful of our Maori culture. Adam, your hongi was on point 😀
Monica Sherman on point what a fucken stupid trendy saying lol great haka proud to be a kiwi, hey bro
Wow this is so cool. I want to thank the person who managed to film this after the show. Absolutely sensational. It blew me away.
OMG Adam Lambert looks so so good !! He's wearing a crown like "bitch I'm queen singing with Queen"
love as Queen and Adam Lambert enjoyed with respect this amazing tradition !!!
Man I love the Moari people and New Zealand! Nothing like watching a Haka, always bring tears to my eyes. Such a powerful tradition. Wish I could live there!! ❤️🇳🇿
The power they display reminds me of Freddie performing, just a thought! The same magnetism! Fantastic
any one else got goosebumps watching this
It's so amazing of all the love folks have for Queen ,Freddie is smiling...
Went to NZ last year in April and did a waka tour in Wellington and they did the Haka for us, can not go to NZ and not see a haka told my group but the did not join me we did traditional rowing in the canoe and did the calls and chant was most memorable.
wunderschön! ich kann keinen haka sehen ohne zu weinen!
we in Canada have a great respect for our Aboriginal cultures, the many Indian tribes and also the Inuit (formerly known as Eskimo) - the Inuit throat singers are mesmerizing, and yes, we clap after each performance as our way of showing respect and admiration
Brian’s reaction was so adorable
They all seem so sweet aww
adam looks so natural with this crown
Adam must be in LOVE
Beautiful !! What a treat
It’s so great that Nz showed some of our culture,
Love it how Adam says he is sick and has still managed to sing a full show of queen
adam lambert is just the best
I am in love with it...
What and absolute honour for both sides ❤️
I love seeing that powerful ceremony .
What a farewell, gave me goosebumps! Powerful warrior energy & strength. Amazing! Queen forever! 🎶🤴🎸💖
What a awesome greeting!
Con questo video è stata immortalata un'altra bellissima pagina della storia dei Queen :-)
Great to see that the crew did it as well - most respect
At 01:08. This senior citizen is in better shape than me.
Roger: “I’m very deaf.” 😂 No wonder.
LMAOO
True understandable
I love this. The first one I ever saw done was a school lost one of their teachers. It was beautiful.
What an honor!
@3:18 Roger is like WTF ARE YOU DOING!?
*Im very DEEF*
Roger has adorable round eyes, but man they turned into saucers.
I wish I were one of Haka to do the traditional Hongi greeting with Queen and Adam !!
2 words with an exclamation mark at the end. Very Cool! What a neat performance/tradition.
What an amazing experience to watch!! ❤️❤️❤️
Such an honour for the guys. This is supposed to be a good sign if visitors are treated to this Haka
I want these guys on my team
That was Brian saying in the beginning “they’re gonna kill us”. I’m Snow White over here and I still know, no they are going to honor you. Yes it can also be used in other ways, but they are welcoming & appreciating Queen. But I think once they started they got it a little bit more. Very moving and emotional as always. But yeah, I will admit “they’re gonna kill us” I did a big one of these 🙄.
Love it!
So cool
Loved it
Lovely 😊
Love this much needed today
Wow that was impressive. First time I've watched this.
Wonderful
Very Nice
Adam: oh we're not supposed to clap yet. ☺️
That was pretty awesome. :D
Aww, that was awesome!

Goodbye is as scary as hello and pass the salt haka. I love the Maori culture.
influential and infectious
Is the young bloke standing next to Brian May Roger Taylor's son who also plays the drums in the show?
Yes! That is Roger's son Rufus!
Very cool.
So cool!!! I loved it.❤
Freddie would of loved this!!
Please come Palau!!
Lovely tradition!!
Is this their way of showing how much Freddie's stage acts inspired them? :D
No?
Impressive!
Las mejores vibras para la banda y Adam.
Very cool!
How absolutely amazing!!! Be real, be brothers and sistas! 🥰
Queen
Scary but so impressive! 💛⚡💛
Adam do be vibing tho-
that was very touching haka
God save the Queen!
I love how even the union guys (in black in the back) knew it and were participating
Awesome!! Proud to be a kiwi! :)
divine....
To anyone not from New Zealand this is obviously very strange and I’m sorry but I can’t help but laugh but I do think it’s very impressive and is intimidating which it’s meant to be but it’s still funny seeing grown mean sticking there tongue out at Roger, Brian, Adam and Rufus 😂
awww hongi what a cute word😱😍
Brian : they'll kill us
Roger : what is going on?
Adam : okay hes kinda cute.
Was that Rufus that said "WTF is going on?!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Really Cool :-)
I can't watch a Haka without welling up.
Adam was sick that day!!!:)
lilian alcasid and a day later basically everyone in Auckland was sick😂☺️
I'd like to bump noses with Adam. For shore.
I’d like to bump a few other things with Adam as well 😉
Loved Brian's reaction! "They're gonna kill us!"
2:36 - Is the guy to the left of Brian with the band, too?
umm... directly to his left is Roger Taylor, the other original founding Queen member and legendary drummer, then Adam Lambert
That's Rufus Taylor, Roger's son, and yes he's in the band.
Cindy Charters
Okay, I meant OUR left, not Brian's, but Carenza Scott has let me know about how Roger's son, Rufus has joined the band, and that's who I was wondering about.
Thanks, though.
I thought that might be your question after I posted the comment and looked at the video again :)
Cindy Charters
No worries.
Wow
Mean Maori Mean 🙌🏻
Amo el respeto al otro ser...
watch it again , but with no sound lol couldnt stop laughing
Brian's face during the haka 😂.
That was awkward
That's how we say Good bye in Auckland...I guess few repeat tourists?
нацепил на себя корону и не снимает...надо же!а я не знала что он теперь король музыки,
I don't know what they were saying, but it was very scary. Good Guys....
It's a tradition thing in the Maori culture, at my old school our whole school had to do it to welcome and farewell visitors, I hated it. It is scary, that's the point cx
This made my eyes a bit wet...
Some of them poor guys have some major farmers tan issues. Lol
