Been really looking forward to this! Feel like my gold making strategy has been all over the place and haven't found anything super solid. Thanks Penguin!
Hope it helps! Thanks Sean!
Damn nice to see your channel blowing up Penguin, well deserved and about time.
Thanks so much Archvaldor! I hope you are doing well!
Thanks for pointing out CraftSim! I hate the new professions so doubt I'll craft anything with them, but it's better than manually having to put in mat values in TSM.
Hi Penguin, I love your videos! Are you able to please do a full guide on herbalism and mining/going through the skill tree for maximum money making/what items are best to gather/if any crafting needs to be involved. I have watched your video you did a month ago on gathering but still a bit confused and your videos are the only ones I can listen too :). Thank you, appreciate your time and effort :)
Great video!
Thank you so much for the quick run down of CraftSim! I've been using it, but wasn't quite clear on how it got its numbers, or what it was displaying regarding different qualities/averages. I think I've got a better handle on what it's telling me, now. If you made a full video on CraftSim I'd definitely be interested!
Sounds good! I’m letting the author have a bit more time with it since it’s very very new but I have a full tutorial written down on my to-do list!
Great video as usual. Cheers Happy New Year.
Thank you BigSquee!
Great video. Well explained.
Thank you brent!
Just found this channel. Very good guides. Also I involuntarily smile whenever you say " and so..." :D
Yea this is by far the best crafting channel I’ve seen.
Lakrin and Uriah, thanks so much!
Thanks for the CraftSim recommendation, I had wanted something like this. Not sure if TSM does it but didn't want to use that so now I don't have to manually do the calcs for profit.
No problem! TSM currently doesn’t have quality support which is why I’m personally not using it , once it’s fully updated I’ll likely return to TSM but we shall see!
you are the only genuine and honest youtuber in terms of making gold
Thanks so much Mow! That means a lot
@@Penguinr2gt you’re welcome 😇🥰😍
Recently I got really frustrated because I spent a lot of time, effort, Knowledge points on Inscription. I wanted to make the best high quality Vantus Runes and also Fauna Runes to sell. Then I realized that just because you maxed out the tree does not mean the quality will be guaranteed.
Your videos showed me better ways to make gold and understanding how the system works and I do appreciate it Thank you!
Thanks for watching Slyferz! Once you have your skill up, you will be in a great place! I wish I put my points into that tree instead of archiving
@@Penguinr2gt Yes is such a huge letdown Inscription is one or the only profession unable to reach level 100 at this time. Still as I said the tree for Runebinding does not actually provide an improvement on quality but more to save resources. I mean there is but still not as much as spending on Rune Mastery.
I have enchanting aswell, but was jebaitet into the disenchanting specialization… can’t seem to make any decent amount of gold with it! Only at 58/100 so considering to make a new toon with enchanting for different specialization - anyway; really good content!! Coming back everytime
Thanks Morten! I would definitely try to push your skill up if you can afford it, as you get more KPs you’ll be able to improve your other stats
Hey, low to mid-pop servers are kind of better IMO for server-specific gear. On high pop, you've got way more competition.
I specifically leveled a tailor on a mid-pop server and it does way better than on my main.
Thanks for continuing to give us good no bs info
Yea meds are super good for their high profit margins, but you trade it for the lack of sales... depending on the med/full pop, they can definitely work out to be better tho! Glad you found a med pop that works for you. Thanks for supporting and watching as always Gerry!
I'm all over with my enchanter/trailer like you lol. My poor mage. Time to level the other toon with those profs.
hahaha go for it! The more professions, the more gold!
It was hilarious being the only BS on Stormrage who specd into plate leg armor. Everyone went weapons. I made SO much gold charging 50k a pop to craft the embellish plate legs on day 2. Been making money now by selling 3* mats. Alloys, ores, etc. I made 2 of my other lvl60s miner/herb. One is specd into the actual gathering stuff. The other, however, is specd into being able to rank up mats. If I have a giant stack of 1* khaz ore, I'll just mail it over and combine and rank them up to 3* since people only want max rank mats.
It's funny because I feel like for the reagent side of things more than ever being a goblin is an advantage because of inspiration builds and having the money to just throw 80% of what you crafted in the garbage to try and make a big profit, but then at the same time because they designed a profession system that makes every single player in the entire game want to participate the sheer volume of people frocking rank three stuff just by chance has made material prices fall through the floor much quicker than they normally would have I think,
Overall I think that's healthier for the game to have prices go down quicker and I think they found a way to make crafted gear relevant like it was in shadowlands, without it being so oppressively expensive
Would love a video on CraftSim
I have it on my to-do list! Thanks Mosh!
Penguin, your videos are great, love the straightforward nature. Do you use TSM at all or just auctionator?
Currently for Dragonflight items I only use Auctionator - once TSM has quality support for DF items, I’ll only use TSM!
Thanks for the guide. Being really struggling to make gold in DF. Spent point and gold unnecessarily
What other profession do you think that has potential to earn through out DF?
My best guess is enchanting + inscription.
All professions will do well throughout DF! There's really no best... whichever profession you choose to spend more time on will likely have more knowledge points which will mean more profitable items to sell
Great video as always, thanks for the content! I used to love enchanting on my main in the past but I kinda screwed myself by foolishly going Insight of the Blue at 50 skill instead of Rods, Runes, and Ruses for the Inspiration build. Now it feels so far (and expensive) away to get skill 100 without spending tons of gold on skilling up with enchants that have no way to go rank 3, and the rank 2's as you showed are going at a loss. What would you suggest doing at this point, power through and take the loss to level to 100 or wait it out and put the enchanter on hold until prices cool down? I'm even considering pushing another alt through to DF to just get enchanting to 50 and make that my main enchanter for the time being.
It really depends on your gold situation. If you can afford it, pushing to 100 will be your best option, of course your only option is to craft weapon devotions or primal illusions which will likely be pretty expensive, but that will unlock your 3rd tree. If you cant afford it and you really want to use enchanting, starting over can be nice but you will likely always be behind on knowledge points until a reliable catchup system comes in
@@Penguinr2gt thanks for the reply! I could afford it, problem is I'm just too cheap! But I guess as you said if I really want to start using enchanting I'll have to push to 100, it's only gold anyway. :)
Sometimes you just gotta spend some gold to finally start making some!
Hey quick question! How did you get that many knowledge points in Enchanting? I'm currently missing about 14 to set things up correctly and already collected ever single Open World treasure, talked to the Hidden Profession Master, did every first Craft bonus I had and got the first of the Consortium thingys that give knowledge. Did I miss something obvious or do I need to wait for reset?
You likely just need to wait if you’ve done all of your first time bonuses. Renown can get you more but that’s quite a grind
Hi what addons do you run? I'm unable to open my AH and Profession window at the same time and would love to!
DeModal and BlizzMove!
do you think enchanting and tailoring is a good combination for a main if you only have dual gathering on an alt? and mainly play one character? specifically a mage. i was thinking enchanting and jewellcraft but am uncertain.
Either pairing is completely fine. Every crafting profession is doing great right now
Hey! Love the video. How are you able to open the AH + profession page at the same time? Is it an add-on or setting that I'm missing? I'm also not able to freely move my windows like you do.
It’s the addons Blizzmove and DeModal! I talk about them more in depth in the cooking video if you want to see more about them
@@Penguinr2gt amazing, thanks!
Hello! how you get blue equipment in professions? I bought on AH the green versions but the blue is tone good and I can't find a guide, thank you and nice video like allways!
you need to order them thru the crafting order system
I made the 3/4 of Elemental Lariat of Sargeras/Garona/Nerz'hul-EU, we are 2 with the design, i made several millions xD
Very nice!
There is no difference if you are at begining of a lvl 2 craft or at the end of a lvl 2 craft if you count on your inspiration to have a lvl 3 ? we always take the cheaper reagan in this case ? :p
yep!
Hello! Love the content but was wondering if you have a guide or something to set the auctionator addon like yours? Downloaded it but the cost to make the items won’t update nor anything and I’m a little lost
I haven't done anything specific to set up Auctionator. You probably need to run a full scan which you can find on the main auctionator page once you open the AH, and see if that updates your costs. If it doesnt, make sure you have crafting costs turned on in the settings of Auctionator
Just use the search function on the item in profession window, that will update the crafting cost for that item.
Hey penguin, have you done any spreadsheets for DF so far? I’m curious if it would even be possible with all the different ranks and prods and stuff. Would be pretty difficult so I haven’t tried.
The spreadsheet that I have available is the first spreadsheet link in the description! It’s not done and mostly info with a few calculation sheets but I’ll be updated throughout the expansion
@@Penguinr2gt you’re the best!
Hey maybe a dumb question but how do you keep the AH and Enchanting tap open? when i open the ah my enchanting closes
Its the work of two addons - BlizzMove and DeModal!
can i ask what addon are u useing for quests
Kaliel's Tracker!
Craftsim looks so good, sadly its not working for non-english clients. Hope author will add support for other languages because its functionality is extremely useful.
I believe the author made a note saying it’s on the to-do list! So hopefully it comes out soon!
he has a discord to share his work and for localization he said
"I am currently working on a big change where the addon gets all stats from the prof spec trees and such and not from the UI this will make localization also easier"
I've tried to take your advice i got 2 tailors up (1 is 60 and other is 56 tailoring, one trying to make azureweave, and 1 for chronocloth, to try to make a little profit each day. Should I be trying to use quality 3 vibrant wildercloth?
It depends on if it will help you. If the extra cost of the quality 3 vibrant will push you over the edge you to need to make more profit, go for it! If it doesn't help you, no need to spend extra gold
@@Penguinr2gt It seems like unless you went all in on maxing tailoring from the beginning making 1 cloth per day is generally a break even or a loss, but I suppose it is worth it to try for a higher quality. I made these 2 chars as a a way to make a small profit per day similar to mission tables seems like transmute much better for that. Thank you for the response.
There’s definitely a market available to you but right now prices are rough. Alchemy transmutes were disabled for almost a week due to exploits and even though they are back, it was never announced meaning many people probably haven’t started them up again. Also many open world farms got nerfed. This caused the prices of awakened/rousing items (mostly Air) to go crazy. As more people are producing these items and we get more supply, we should see these costs shift back down lowering our cloth cost!
I've spent so much time and effort for alchemy but seeing very low profits, any tips on that? I feel like its too late to drop it now (i have like 150+ knowledge in it)
Sadly alchemy is in a pretty rough spot - try to get your multicraft and inspiration as high as possible and thats really where the profit is right now
would you have been able to get to 100 skill with out the points in garmentcrafting?
Yep! I didn’t use garmentcrafting at all - I unlocked the master fishing cap thru dragonscale renown and used that to level all the way to 100
Is there a way to check how much skill different ingredient quality combos will give you? Currently I have to buy all qualities to check and it can be pricey sometimes :(
The addon CraftSim has Simulation Mode which does that exact thing for you!
@@Penguinr2gt yeah, but it's really broken on certain recipes sadly. It's a good addon, but much work left :( Tbh this functionality should be built in by blizzard
Yes the addon is still super super new. The only information I can give you for calculating it yourself is that the reagents grant up to 25% skill of the recipe difficulty. So for example, if you use all quality 3 mats, and the recipe difficulty is 80, you will gain the full 20 skill thru quality (20 is 25% of 80)… the part that I can’t tell you is how each individual item is designed since there’s an internal table that blizz uses. So for example, a quality 1 of 1 material paired with a quality 2. Not sure if that’s helpful, but in general, reagent quality can produce up to 25% skill of the recipe difficulty
How do u open the AH and the profession page together?
The help of addons! Demodal and Blizzmove
hey, which addons are you using for mini map and quest log? I really like them
Kaliel's Tracker and SexyMap!
@@Penguinr2gt a sexy map indeed :) thanks penguin, keep up making great videos
Thank you Vasilij!
where is the +22 skill coming from? mine says +6 and its only from my profession tool.
You need to BiS (Blue version) profession tools, you can order them through the crafting order system. The Blue tool gives you +10 and each accessory gives you +6
How do you get the craft cost? Mine is not displaying correctly.
It is the addon Auctionator. If you dont see it, you may need to run a full scan through the main Auctionator button on your AH menu, or enable crafting costs in your auctionator addon settings
Ive found a niche. I had been a goblin in Wotlk a nd just started playing DF. I was bleeding gold for a bit. But have been flipping 500-3000 gold in, 8500-15000 gold out.
Any recommendations for someone who feels they misspent their specialization points for enchanting after seeing your guide? :)
You taking too long is why you didn't make gold. Not her guides fault.
What did you put your points into? It can vary based on your current setup
@@Penguinr2gt 40 Draconic Enchantment and 15 insight of the blue
is there any knowledge point simulator available online. Its hard for me to tell where to invest 20 knowledge points. I don't want to use my alts to test it and do it properly on my main
You will need to read the tooltips to see what you gain, but you can plan paths with this: www.wowhead.com/profession-tree-calc
@@Penguinr2gt Does it show your skill inspiration etc.. in this wowhead page. I mean as you put points in. Thats what I was looking for. Basically I was not sure if I shd put points in inspiration first or Base skill first. To hit t3 cloth for example.
how are you able to open the AH and craft window at the same time? Thanks
It’s the addons Blizzmove and DeModal!
@@Penguinr2gt Thankyou
Am I having this problem only? When I open my echanting while i got the AH open. It automatically closes the AH. Vice versa too ;/
You need the addons Blizzmove and DeModal to rescale and open multiple videos. I show them off more in-depth in the cooking video!
@@Penguinr2gt Thanks
my goal this addon was to farm 1x goldcap, sofar I'm 1,4m in xD after 2 weeks
Greetings - So I'm looking at your example of Enchant Bracer - Devotion of Speed where you calculate all cost and profit, but the one thing I notice you fail to ever mention is the AH listing cost. Currently on my AH realm 1240 pieces are available - Of the 62 pieces you had, did you list them all on the AH at once? What was the cost to list (if they didn't sell), how many sold? How long did it take you to recoup your expenses? The listing price for a non-sale needs to be addressed in your profit calculations. (After going out an creating this item, the listing price for 48 hours is 3g which is reasonable, but not all items are like that.) Regards,
You should never dump them all on the AH at once. All of these items I mention are region-wide commodities meaning you are competing with alot of people, and to reduce deposit costs, etc. you should post in small stack sizes. Normally I do anywhere between 2-15 per post depending on quality, competition, how long im leaving the AH etc. I breakdown this sort of thing in my cooking video (heres a link: ua-cam.com/video/0ZWTS3nXIcI/v-deo.html), and that breakdown still applies. In terms of selling out, I sold all of the enchants and linings within that day, less than 12 hrs. I lost some gold due to deposit costs, that happens with any sale, but because the deposit costs are so minor, and I post in small batches, its just not something I worry about. Good questions! Let me know if you have anymore
@@Penguinr2gt Do you post in 12 hour increments or 24/48 hour?
Only 12 hr, You need to be cancel scanning these items if you want the best sales, so posting for any longer is just a waste of deposit costs - Here's a video on Cancel Scanning if you havent done it often - ua-cam.com/video/Z0Xzc2g2eAQ/v-deo.html
So, just to be sure i got it, you are not using, actually, TSM for auctioning and evaluating your potrncial profit in crafts?
Nope! TSM is only used for mailing and tooltips rn
Hey! How did you achieve to get 290 skill points? Seems so impossible to me
Specialization Points, Leveling Enchanting to max and blue tools!
I used all my knowledge point can i reset the my craft talent?
There is no way to reset your trees, all skill points are permanent
I'm 90% certain I see you standing at that mailbox every day when I login to gold make xD
haha, next time you see me, say hello :P
@@Penguinr2gt definitely will, if it's you lol I don't wanna say hello and someone wonder who I am rofl. However I wouldn't think there are many who just sit there on an AH mount
How do u get 290 skill in Devotion of speed?
My specialization points and load out! I highlight my exact trees and gear in the video
Does craftsim require TSM ?
It either requires TSM or Auctionator to grab prices
Is it worth to start a new profission rn?
100%, better late than never!
13:31 doo doo lmao
How did you get to 100? Having a really hard time without blowing all my knowledge points.
In enchanting I crafted weapon devotions until i reached max, you can now use Primal Illusions to do the same thing if you can get the recipe. For Tailoring I unlocked the fishing cap through renown and it was a pretty cheap way of getting my tailoring leveled up. Im not max with any others yet
How do people have so many knowledge points. I'm rocking like 50 and feeling starved and in this video you've got like 140.
Make sure you’ve done all of your first time bonuses and rewards
On my server bronze and silver items have no value at all. So you need to invest a lot of money and only count on procs as you will be a ta huge loss if it doesn't proc.
Yep, Thats how it goes sadly. All stackable items are region wide meaning theres lots of competition and supply bringing down the prices
*hungry goblin noises*
Would you like to become friends on WoW? I admit that I'm fishing for knowledge, but I also have free time I can contribute to a group! I understand if not due to you being busy. :D
You can find my battletag in our discord if you want to add me on bnet
Tailoring craft for the embelleshment is already dead, AH selling them for 10k while charging 10k for bolt of azureweave
Not sure how the market on EU looks, but NA it is still profitable for me currently! Sometimes it does fade in and out of profit, but thats what happens when you are dealing with items that are region-wide
@@Penguinr2gt Must have just been a bad time to check the prices
@@Penguinr2gt Ah my bad I thought you needed rank 3 Azureweave bolt
@@FirstLast-xk6fd no problem at all! Hope you are able to make some gold!
Only two enchants make profit for me lol
It all depends on your skill and Inspiration.. as you get more and more, things will become more profitable!
@@Penguinr2gt the more points he gets so do the others... i did fine early on with armor kits. Now i returned to buying/sellings mats on reset day. Too many idiots think that afk crafting all day will give them perma profit so they undercut 24/7 till the whole thing becomes bad for every crafter involved.
@@Penguinr2gt none of the cheap enchants make profit, only two from these more expensive writs and I'm still 23 points away from making epic writs which is not that bad, I'll have to double check if I picked up all treasures but I should be able to get it on next next reset:)
@@Penguinr2gt I meant epic devotions
I don't see how crafting in dragon flight is for anyone other than hardcore players. Your "easy" example needs significant investment to start, and as you say only tier 3 crafts make any profit.
You don't need as many KPs as me to get started, lots of my knowledge points are giving me additional skill which is not technically needed if you invest into Inspiration.... Also theres plenty of first time bonuses that help you jumpstart your crafting, it varies between professions but just with treasures you can get +24 KPs, then +5 from talking to your profession master, then you will get +15 from your weeklies and then you have all of your first time craft bonuses. Professions in this expansion takes more time compared to previous expansions since you have to dedicate time to weeklies, etc, but you dont need to be a hardcore player
This doenst work for me. Professions are very boring and complicated to understand.
Does the average player even deal with that volume of gold or just people with no life? Buy that I mean dont have to work and can just play games all day. Am i just severely behind the curve, cause it seems like a fantasy to be able to play round with that kinda gold. Like having to spend even 1k on something feels like a big deal. Sittin on 9 million gold, has a 5 million gold mount, like ok? Ive never seen more than 200k before.
ive never understood the whole gold making, you have in your bag on making this Video 9 million gold. what are you going to do with it? its not like you can spend it in the real world so whats the big thing about aquiring so much gold ???
I actually just broke 100 million at the end of SL! Goldmaking started off as a way to pay for my wow sub like most people - I havent had to pay for any monthly sub or new expansion since legion, but as time goes on you get addicted and you just start enjoying the process (at least I have). So theres not really any monetary or specific goal for me anymore, its just what i like to do in WoW. Some people love pvping, some people love raiding, I like goldmaking!
im too late for this game proffesions are garbage
You are never too late
@@Penguinr2gt well any advice on where shoud i start if i got a fresh 70?good profesion combo?
@@mitkokurekov8452 double gathering is doing fine. If you have some gold saved up to fund leveling crafting professions, use auctionator and craftsim to look for profitable crafts
If youve never done professions before, then Guilherme is completely right, I recommend gathering to gain some initial gold since it just takes time to make gold, instead of having to invest gold to make more. After you have a good amount stored up, you can transition into crafting
Try going tailoring the a gathering profession then go into the textile spec in tailoring put all point into the unraveling and you can unravel the frosted decayed and singed cloth into rousing and sell that made close to half a mil this past week and a half doing it.
I sell shovels 🥲
Nothing wrong with that!
