Nice to see I'm not the only one who has made mistakes on the skill tree's Luckily I just leveled Engineering & haven't spent any points yet & can try to do that right. I will say to anyone who might feel discouraged because they've misspent points, don't be. I've made mistakes in probably every profession tree & yet still still netted a 1M gold profit last week as a part timer & I'm way behind some other folks. There's gold to be made even if you're not min/maxed. & eventually we will all have all trees filled out. Important to remember that we're all learning as the expansion unfolds & mistakes aren't going stop us from making gold, they might feel bad but hang in there. I may drop my gathering off my alts & swap them all over to tailoring just for cooldowns & shuffles. Loving the content Penguin, thx
Saetun! You are 100% right and really bring some good advice. We've all made mistakes and thats okay!!! Congratulations on the 1 million gold profit in a week! That is awesome. Keep it up! (P.S. If you arent gathering, change them! :P)
Thank you so much for this details guide. I'm just getting into wow again after a 7 year break, this is super helpful and I appreciate the time you've taken
at 16:01 in the video, you click search on your profession window and it updates the prices how did u you do that? I know you mentioned before in a previous video, auctionator but how do you have both windows open at the same time? Also what is going on with the awakened market, all the prices are tanking
You need the addons Blizzmove and Demodal to open both windows at the same time! (Technically you can have just Demodal but I recommend both). In terms of prices, there’s a lot of great farms right now with current world quests being up that makes farming them super easy. Also there was a buff to herb/mining in a recent hotfix!
Hello. I'm just starting to take a look at professions (for now I'm just playing one character going Enchanting/Inscription, no need to be the best combo or the best to make gold). Thanks for your video! Found out your channel couple days ago but just now I could watch this one and its helping me alot to understand the changes to profession :)
Actually engineering has inspiration dedicated node - its in the Mechanical Mind tree and its easy to miss! Novelties tree actually gives +1% additional skill on inspiration procs per point in this tree, which makes it +30% bonus skill for inspiration procs. Combining that with optimized efficiency makes it +50% skill on inspiration procs, just like you have on other professions.
A great tip! I wish they kept engineering the same as other professions instead of splitting the nodes up - but it does make it a bit more fun to figure out :P
That's awesome info! Thank you! I've been holding all my knowledge points before investing into anything. After I absolutely bombed enchanting/tailoring on my main char, I really didn't want to go down that road again lol.
One thing I’ve noticed on my server for Leatherworking is an interest in the Decayology mail boots, along with the Toxified armor patch to boost their effect. The proc on them hugely boosts your highest stat and simultaneously hugely reduces your lowest stat. This is actually a big boon to classes with a clear dump stat (often Versatility) and a pretty-clear favored stat. The pain is that you have to get the recipe and then do all the crafting at the Altar of Decay at the end of the Brackenhide Hollow dungeon, so you can’t do this in Valdrakken. The Altar IS a workstation, though, so you can access crafting orders from it.
Yea! theres definitely some good armor recipes out there (and the toxified is another great embellishment like the fang), just have to be willing to spec into it and find buyers. I tend to take the easier approach of just selling everything on the AH, but if you are into armor, those boots are a great tip! Thanks Brian!
I also rather like the aspect of having to go somewhere specific to do the craft, like the ur-example of having to use the Dark Iron Forge in Blackrock Mountain to work with dark iron in the WoW of yore.
The boots are BIS for nearly all mail wearers. The pain is having to go through the instance again every single time, even for recrafts. I've started charging 20k for when people want me to go do it straight away, as it gets incredibly tedious.
I dont think respecing is a good idea - in a matter of weeks, it wont matter since we can learn everything anyways - I can see them adding in a catch up system, but thats really it.
I'm a huge fan of the direction they went with professions; however, it can be quite daunting trying to tackle these specialization trees without being able to undo. Thank you for making these vids, they are very helpful and helped reduce the dizziness.
starting out in DF again and these profession changes are so overwhelming! One thing I don't understand is how people reached so many knowledge points yet. I have been playing daily and did all of the things mentioned in your earlier video and still only reached 60 points total for tailoring :( I feel so behind honestly. However, thank you so much for your videos! helps out a ton!!!
You probably are missing some very easy one time rewards, I recommend making sure youve done your treasures, master, bought notes from the AC vendor, etc!
If you have been playing since start of DF you mustve missed something, my Scribe has the most points at this point and it's about 140 and I know people have a lot more at this point. And I'm just getting another 15 in.
a lot of people don't realize that "Insight of the blue" has a ton of inspiration with the primal side of the tree. Also, you need to have unlocked Primal Extraction to get the Glimmer drops from the Primal Invasions, which grant an additional 10 Knowledge Points.
100%! it’s definitely worth going into eventually, but I don’t recommend it as a first or second choice if you don’t have a decent way/enough gold to hit 100
Awesome video thank you! How do you level up enchanting from 80-100 tho without choosing the weapon knowledge route? I wanna go for the armor/ring enchants etc
What's the profit addon you're using? I've just been gathering waiting for TSM to update the profit but I don't think it's ever gonna happen, but notice you have something that says CraftSim Average Profit. WHat is that?
"I'm not the best role model." I think you are, but that aside, you give me at least a starting point to look at so I can judge how I want to do my trees according to my play style. For that, I appreciate you. Thank you for posting this. 🥰🥰
What would you recommend for Enchanting on an alt. I have an old char with lots of old world enchants that I don't want to skill out of. Is there anything useful to do for her akin to alchemy/tailoring CDs?
Theres not really any cooldowns for enchanting - you could spec it into a disenchanting shuffle toon if you dont plan to do much progression on her, but that shuffle requires you to actively shuffle and play
@penguinr2gt - Thanks for all of these helpful profession vids. Saved me hours upon hours (and points upon points) of wasted effort. I really hope they provide a way to reset the spent profession points for those of us that went down a profession build path that turned out not so good. They did it with the new talent trees, so it stands to reason they could figure out a way to let us respec profession builds too - maybe once a day to prevent exploits or whatever. Anyway - thanks again! Keep up the good work. :)
That is so awesome! Im glad the videos are helping - in terms of respecing, I think its good that we cant respec.... eventually we will learn everything so the only reason why it hurts so much now is because we are still in the early stages of KPs, as time goes on, it will feel better and better.
do you do anyrhing with old world crafts currently? im thinking about dropping some of my long time professions on my chars that have a lot of crafts to maximize DF profits, but not sure if i should due to having rare patterns learned. i dont want duplicates of DF professions is the reason im thinking about doing it
I wouldn't drop your old world, I have an old world toon who just posts my mass amount of old crafted transmog, random items, etc. that still brings in good daily profit with minimum effort. Even if you think you aren't using those recipes, you never know when you'll dive into those markets and regret losing all of your progress.
hi, do you think the regional market for commodities will steadily tank over time until the next season? i know prices tend to fluctuate throughout the week but this post-tues through thursday drop is the lowest i've ever seen for NA!
As the expansion goes on, prices fall - that is pretty normal. The reason why prices are tanking right now is due to alot of really good open world farms and buffs that came into the game. For example, there has just been a buff to titan orb drops which is why orbs have dropped a crazy amount in price. Also, with the current world quest rotation, there is a super good awakened/rousing air farm available which has drastically tanked those awakened prices the past few days... in terms of the orbs, they will likely stay cheap as farming them have become permanently easier... but in terms of the airs, we could see a price increase/jump this weekend when the world quest falls out of rotation and the farm disappears. Of course, once the world quest comes back, we will likely see another dip
I started just recently the DF, started lvling my Profs but i have like 20 or 30 Points Max in the Specialization by doing 1 time crafts and Map exploration, could you give me a tip on how to get more?
You’re probably missing a lot of easy points and your weeklies. Here’s a link to all sources and how to get them! www.wowhead.com/guide/professions/knowledge-points
I feel like the cooldown bug is still there. Can you tell me how long it takes to recharge chronocloth to 30 crafts. For me it happens in a week or less. Is this expected. I am afraid to craft those bolts. And I feel bad for having so many alts with tailoring. At this point I feel like the daily cooldown has no value and it is no better than crafting omnium draconics or vibrant wildercloth bolt.
I got 55 points in insight the blue and the rest thrown into armor enchanting. Runes is not unlocked yet so it is almost impossible to get to 100 skill for me… i could do rank 1 weapon enchants, but the skillpoints are not worth 1 million gold … so i am kinda stuck with enchanting :(
You can farm for the illusion primal recipes, they are alot cheaper. Theyve also recently just turned BoE, but they will likely be very expensive on the AH for a while
@@Penguinr2gt yeah, i farmed this for 1-2 hours and always looked for the respective rares, but no luck yet. Also, i cant really be bothered as i need absoutely nothing from the invasions, other than the recipe… I havent checked the AH yet, since the recent hotfix, but iwill tomorrow ;) By the way; Thanks for all the videos you do
@@Penguinr2gt I meant, which specialization for each to focus? My goal is to make gold but I am currently poor. Hard to decide which tree to choose to make gold
Gotcha sorry! You generally need to pick multiple specialization trees to make gold. Can’t go wrong with Enchantment and Rods with enchanting. And can’t go wrong with textiles and mastery in Tailoring!
Completely, COMPLETELY went the wrong way on my alchemist/enchanter. I'm wondering if it'd be wise now to take another druid i have, and start again, and make that one my main? What are the catch up mechanics if any for professions? I know I can get fast rep up to level 10 at least.
In terms of restarting it really depends, if you are stuck and cannot add points to where you need to be… for example you locked yourself out of a tree you really need and you know you can’t max out the profession, it’s something to think about. If you just need more KPs, it’s better in the long run to just stay with your current setup. There’s currently no catch up mechanics so you will have to start all again
it seems impossible to make gold off enchanting now? i have a similar build in trying to proc rank 3 enchants but they just keep crashing in price every day now.
Im still making a ton of profit off enchants... one of my biggest sources atm. It does vary day by day but overall its been very good. I recommend checking out your profession tool stats + enchants. Having your tool have +inspiration and an inspiration enchant can up your %s a ton
@@Penguinr2gt i currently have 28% with an incense up, what is yours around? i dont have a lot of gold to spend up front on orbs to proc rank 3 devotions though. any other enchants you find good?
Unfortunately this was the first time i tried making gold with professions, and I went deep into alchemy. Its made me some gold ~1 mil in like 1-2 weeks but I would've definitely had more profit had I gone other professions. I am now expanding into enchanting after seeing your previous video, hoping that makes me some real profit. I do want to ask though; I went full potion making, max inspiration etc, rn im at a crossroads; do i go into multicraft reagent tree (and make my own reagents for the regular potions) or fully max out potion mastery which unlocks the use of optional reagents (gives upto 5% insp + 4.5% multicraft for pots) or even do i go into resourcefulness? just wondering if you (or any1 else) has any tips on this
also, any tips regarding enchanting? I was initially tempted to go into wep devotions considering the massive profit from rank 3 (and also for my own, its on my main and ive been holding off of the big enchants cuz of the price) but with your video it seems like the 'miscellaneous' side is better, afterall even though they make less each, there are plenty more gear slots and ppl change those more frequently than weapons
I would probably go into resourcefulness first - even though I dont have any personal experience with high end alchemy (as you could clearly see xD), the resourcefulness trait is a powerful one across all professions. Someone with a bit more alchemy experience may offer some better advice though
With Enchanting, I would be careful of weapon enchantments if you dont have a ton of gold, I know you mentioned 1 million but you need to be comfortable with spending alot. Enchants depend on procs meaning you need to craft in bulk to see a good avg return... at the prices right now, you will be spending about 400-500k per 100 crafts, so if you arent comfortable with dropping that much gold, all of the other enchants are performing very well
Damn.. alchemy is my mains prof. I have my phials maxed and Im working on inspiration to proc phial of elemental power. There really is only a small handful of phials and potions that turn profits and they aren't all that great. :-/
I started playing again after 10 years, sole few old stuff, made my main a lock lvl 70, and had 50k , so decided to try to gear up/BIS gear other then LFR.. almost made 3 different bis, . Simc .. and mow have like 6k gold left. Miner/skimg on a warlock.. now alt needs to make money back, at lvl 41 . Enchanting, not sure for 2nd, what good 2nd profession, JC simce main is miner.. or alchemy but priest is alchemy and herbalists. also lvl under 40. Mage 38 miner/tailor from 10years ago. Need a money maker.
You are probably missing a ton of the one time rewards! This is a great guide that gives you a rundown of all the point possibilities! www.wowhead.com/guide/professions/knowledge-points
@@Penguinr2gt Okay skill is like your raw stats and inspiration is like a crit. I think I get it. I've been stopping at level 50 on professions. thank you!
Literally the only thing that makes money for alchemy is the transmutes. Everything else is a loss because it's more efficient to use experimentation to proc potions/flasks to sell. Which leads to the problem of running out of mettle on the first day you get more
I give all my alt alchemy with full transmute and it make good amount of gold per day with current awakened fire and frost price Thanks for every tips you give it was very helpful since im not sure what profession to give to my alts except alchemy
Just FYI Insight of the Blue tree has Inspiration for enchants in it! So if all enchants are maxed out this is the way to go. How people are doing it is max out Inspiration, put enough points to unlock some enchants then go for Resourcefulness tree. Insight only gives you 2% Inspiration or something like that so I feel like the entire Resourcefulness tree is worth more than that? But that's the way to go if you have everything else maxed out. Having more recipes just means you have more diversity but the only way to increase profits is either reduce cost or have more Inspiration.
Yes you are right! Insight is eventually good to get into but I can’t recommend it as a first or second choice in terms of tree. The other ones are just way more important. I agree with you that I would also max out resourcefulness before focusing on it (leaving it as a last resort really)
@@Penguinr2gt I think that's what I'm gonna do, unfortunately I'm behind in Enchanting and still cant make profit on it despite throwing tons of gold for leveling. I have Inspiration maxed out and three devotion enchants unlocked but still need about two weeks to hopefully make profit. I went for devotion thinking this has the most potential to make big profit and the least amount of competition (still there isn't a lot of people in this market compared to other enchants). And sadly I went kinda the same route as you in Inscription, I went for the missives/contracts tree and while I made some early profit on missives this market died very quickly. If I put points into inks and resources I would've made tons of gold. I just almost maxed out resources tree and that + blue gear makes a huge difference. Just basically spamming Runed Writherbark now and they sell within seconds although needs some cancelling. Oh well it's definitely not easy to figure what to do first and I neglected my alts so now I'm kinda behind on everything. I'm gonna push to max out at least couple of things in JC and Enchanting, I'm speced into chrono in Tailoring and prob not gonna bother with rest of the professions except for PvP gear. Eng seems like it has potential but I don't have time or energy to get into it.
I don't understand how you're making money off alloys at all. Even if I multi proc it would be worth more to sell raw mats. I thought it would be profitable too, and it was the first thing I specced into. Literally cheaper to just buy other people's and sell the raw mats. Of course if the awakened order market crashes maybe that will change.
The cheapest alloy flows in and out of profit for me. The frostfire used to be very good but it’s fallen out profit. Alloys are sadly not as good as they used to be.
What i highly dislike in this kind of videos is having the UA-camr basically go here is how i spent my gazilion points. Im pretty sure people who have your points, and did the profession shuffle before blizz removed it for consortium rep, also did the rep grind and all the other cool stuff, already knew what they were doing and this video is pointless for them. In my opinion the video should be more like : As you level profession x, First put points in A to achieve this Second put points in B to achieve that Etc
I did not use any sort of exploits, rep hacks, shuffles or anything to obtain these points. All of these are from playing the game how everyone is “suppose to”. If you are looking more for beginner step by step tutorials, I recommend checking out my previous videos. This video is a bit different as it is really a personal update of where I stand with all of my progress!

@@Penguinr2gt can u recommend which trees to level in both?
That depends on you - my paths are making me gold but if you don’t want to sell the same types of items then they are no good for ya
Hi what addon are you using to see cost of crafting an item etc?
Auctionator
Hey how do you get the Cooking tool. I got the Accessory from a quest but how to get the tool
You can buy the green versions off the AH, and can order the blue versions thru the crafting order system
Whats is your addons that showing +50% item in multicraft ?
I believe it is CraftSim
it seems impossible to make gold off enchanting now? i have a similar build in trying to proc rank 3 enchants but they just keep crashing in price every day now.
Yea, not a fan of alchemy at all :P
I went into herbalism and alchemy and regret it, do you think it is too late to go into enchanting and tailoring at this time of the expansion?
Not at all! You are still early if you start now... we got years of DF left!
How are you tracking the profession treasures?
It’s an addon called TomTom that can set waypoints. I grab the waypoints off Wowhead
To follow up, heres a link to the treasures page: www.wowhead.com/guide/professions/knowledge-point-treasure-locations-dragon-isles
Seeing how you have so many knowledge points makes me wonder where did I go wrong 😢
Great video tho!
You are probably missing a ton of the one time rewards! This is a great guide that gives you a rundown of all the point possibilities! www.wowhead.com/guide/professions/knowledge-points
why not cloth collection?
I dont do any sort of open world farming so I am not worried about cloth drops
which addon you using to get your quests like that?
Kaliel’s tracker!
@@Penguinr2gt thank you!
How did you max ur inscription??
Rolling Pins!
do you get anything from leveling pass 50?
You get more base skill and the ability to unlock more/all specialization trees
@@Penguinr2gt Okay skill is like your raw stats and inspiration is like a crit. I think I get it. I've been stopping at level 50 on professions. thank you!
So anyone know what her main is? Like I’m new to channel and just curious???
The monk - tailor, enchanter
Awesome how do you like monk? I have actually never tried one. Just came back to wow and I’m loving your video’s awesome job.
Thanks! I really enjoy monk, ive been maining it since BfA - definitely bias tho :P
Literally the only thing that makes money for alchemy is the transmutes. Everything else is a loss because it's more efficient to use experimentation to proc potions/flasks to sell. Which leads to the problem of running out of mettle on the first day you get more
Yea, Alchemy is definitely struggling right now, its my least favorite profession of the expansion
I wish I can get that brunto mount you have one day
Never say never!
@@Penguinr2gt it never shows up in the auction house no more I think it removed from the game and not even in black market
@@Penguinr2gt so what are the options now ?
gj peng!
Thank you pab aug!
I give all my alt alchemy with full transmute and it make good amount of gold per day with current awakened fire and frost price
Thanks for every tips you give it was very helpful since im not sure what profession to give to my alts except alchemy
Tailoring is another create one for bolt cooldowns! I recommend that paired with your alchemy transmutes!
Woot woot!
🐢?
🐧?
@@Penguinr2gt sorry. Thought you may have been someone else. Great video!
A 69 joke, nice :D
First
Woot woot!
@@Penguinr2gt love you! You deserve all the good things coming your way
What i highly dislike in this kind of videos is having the UA-camr basically go here is how i spent my gazilion points.
Im pretty sure people who have your points, and did the profession shuffle before blizz removed it for consortium rep, also did the rep grind and all the other cool stuff, already knew what they were doing and this video is pointless for them.
In my opinion the video should be more like :
As you level profession x,
First put points in A to achieve this
Second put points in B to achieve that
Etc
I did not use any sort of exploits, rep hacks, shuffles or anything to obtain these points. All of these are from playing the game how everyone is “suppose to”. If you are looking more for beginner step by step tutorials, I recommend checking out my previous videos. This video is a bit different as it is really a personal update of where I stand with all of my progress!
