  • I've wanted to do a video on a movie I don't particularly like, just to prove I'm not butthurt that CinemaSins ruined my favorite movie. Now Frozen isn't a bad movie, it's just something I don't care for. For a while, I hated it, because I was mad that it got so popular, though I eventually got out of that, because I realized that was stupid. Rewatched it for this video, and now I think it's just ok. Still don't think it deserved all its popularity, but hey, it does have its fans, which is why I'm fine with doing this video. And heck, since I don't like it, I don't have to worry about getting "too attached", I can just judge CS and the movie objectively, so that's nice. Longest description ever, but this is the longest EWW video I've ever done, because not only did they sin it once back in 2014, they sinned it again 8 years later for their 10th anniversary. So I decided to do both in the same video.
    Disclaimer: I don't have much ill will towards CinemaSins, I just want to point out the many mistakes they've made in their videos.

    Ok, I am so sorry for all those people who saw that community post, and were hoping to see this sooner. UA-cam was just being annoying, and blocking the video, because of "copyright reasons." I spent forever blurring every clip they didn't want to show, one at a time, but then I accidentally blurred too much of the darn video, so I figured "screw it, I'll do it myself." So I deleted the video, and re-edited it with a Frozen poster, every time the clip lasts for at least 8 seconds. I know it's annoying, and it's not how I wanted you guys to see this, but UA-cam forced my hand. I genuinely feel bad for you guys that I can't give you the video I want to make. I really want to, but UA-cam just has to be a pain in the butt. Again, I'm really sorry, I wish I could do better, I really do!

    Also the second time cinema sins talks about how Elsa doesn’t tell Anna the truth about her powers, she literally can’t lmao. She can’t tell her in front of the entire kingdom without putting herself in danger, and Anna refused to talk to Elsa alone. It’s entirely possible that Elsa was gonna tell her when she asked to talk to her alone, but Anna refused, and Elsa can’t say anything in front of Hans, who she already distrusts because he wants to marry her sister despite knowing him for a day. So. There’s that

    33:16, I’m glad you said that because Olaf was willing to die to save Anna earlier “some people are worth melting for” and that raises the question “why didn’t that count as an act of true love?” given that this movie is about non-romantic love. The expanded material might explain that but (as far as I can tell) this movie doesn’t

      Tbf, this could be chalked up to another misunderstanding between the characters so that Disney could have another subversion of expectations. We've already seen how Anna and the others took Grand Pabby's instructions of "only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart" and incorrectly assumed the solution was romantic love. I think it's possible there could've been another misunderstanding at play here about WHO was supposed to be performing the act of true love---Anna et al incorrectly assume that someone else needs to perform an act of true love FOR Anna, when the real answer was that ANNA was the one who needed to perform the act of true love. The subversion, therefore, would be that rather than being the damsel in distress saved by her prince/love interest, instead Anna saves herself.
      At least, that's always been my interpretation of it. 🤷‍♀

    Nice video of you covering both Frozen videos. I wasn't guessing this movie specifically, because Jay Exci and Luke did it already, but you covered the re-sin, too, when no one else has, as Th3Birdman only sinned an old and remade video two or three times so far. Also, your reactions about the re-sin and realizing the movie is a decade old were absolutely flawless!

    Missed SinSins:
    3:58 They closed everyone out of the castle. Why would Anna know they had 8,000 salad plates if they never needed them?
    8:20 Even if he wasn't a living snowman, Olaf startled her. This was a reaction, and a very common one in IRL to being startled.
    10:20 Olaf called him "Marshmallow" because both snow and marshmallows are white, soft, and fluffy.
    15:22 Jeremy thinks an actual camera is being used to film this.
    15:30 Claims the ice is too thin to stand on, then shows that the ice is actually over a foot thick (15:57).
    16:15 Suggests that professional ice cutters don't know how to properly check ice thickness for safety before cutting it.
    16:41 Ice IS stronger than 100 men. Go and take 100 men and have them repeatedly punch a block of ice, see which breaks first.
    26:41 No, she doesn't know his foot size, but she's saying it doesn't matter, so she doesn't need to.
    27:57 Probably to the castle of ice at the top of the mountain. Just cause we can't see it at this angle doesn't mean they can't.
    29:52 Kristoff was raised by the trolls, who know this magic stuff, so he probably knew too and recognized the symptoms.
    31:09 This isn't a heel turn, Hans never changed. He was putting on an act of being loving and compassionate to trick her.
    32:17 Claims Disney won't show perma-death after having shown Elsa and Anna's parents die.
    32:33 Tell that to the shipper freaks who romantically ship Elsa and Anna together. Yes, shippers can be really weird.
    32:50 Metal can crack if temps get too cold. We literally see the sword freeze up and crack for a split second before it shatters.

    I can't believe I used to watch and actually like CinemaSins at some point since it's really painful and just angering to listen to him complain constantly and add a sin because he didn't understand or purposely chose to not understand something or follow the story or put two and two together and it's infuriating listening to him sin and insult Frozen and honestly just all movies in general for the most stupid reasons and act like he's so clever and smart.
    also you can very clearly see how much he's changed from the original Frozen one and then the remake because the original had plenty of unnecessary sins but dear God the remake just instantly felt like anything at all came up on screen and he would sin it just because he wants to and for the sake of it.
    also something else I really disliked is how many times he gives the movie a sin because the writers didn't decide to kill a character when again it's a kids movie and of course they're not going to kill any of the characters and let's be honest if they did decide to kill Anna or kristoff he would have sinned it anyway.
    also it's insanely annoying how he literally calls anything and everything a trope and constantly says it as a bad thing to where I swear a character can't even walk or breathe without him probably calling it a trope.
    again I can't believe I used to watch and actually like CinemaSins at some point because all they do is complain and criticize literally everything and only being negative and then want to throw a temper tantrum when someone dare criticizes them and they also just ruin movies for people.

    Another great video, and I'd like to say two things:
    1. While I didn't assume that this would be the one you'd be doing, this is one of the five Disney movies with Alan Tudyk that I've done (along with Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6, Moana, and Encanto), so I did think that if it was one of those five, it'd have been nice to see your perspective on another CinemaSins video that I've done.
    2. I too have done videos on movies that I didn't particularly care for or like (an example of the latter is The Nut Job, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame is an example of the the former, and I know a lot of people love that movie, but it just didn't really click with me).

    11:01, I’m not defending CinemaSins but very little of how the Rock Trolls are portrayed makes me give any credence to Kristoff calling them “love experts.” It might be something we’re meant by the movie to think Kristoff is wrong about but if that we’re the case then it wasn’t well-expressed

    • @captainvader921
      @captainvader921  5 місяців тому +1

      That's not what they were saying. He said "ok, so these trolls are love experts, when did "saving people from icy blasts to the head" enter the picture?" My guess is that they're saying the trolls can't have multiple purposes and abilities, and I was saying that was a dumb idea.
      And besides, they accurately figured out that Anna and Kristoff were a good couple.

    • @matityaloran9157
      @matityaloran9157 5 місяців тому +1

      @@captainvader921 Yeah. I get your criticism of CinemaSins (hence my saying I wasn’t defending them.) It’s things like them knowing you can’t marry someone you just met because they’re “love experts” and immediately trying to get Kristoff and Anna to marry each other when they show up undermines that description. (I get that might have been the joke.) And they’re saying that he’s a “Fixer Upper” with a “thing about reindeer” that’s “outside of nature’s laws” pretty clearly was intended as a joke (by the writers) but that being part of their case for Kristoff to Anna makes their description as “love experts” questionable. At least when they interpret “act of true love” as “true love’s kiss” the movie is open about them being wrong but at that point their track record doesn’t really bear out the “love experts” description. Sorry about the tangent

    • @captainvader921
      @captainvader921  5 місяців тому +1

      No you're good, it is something that I've never really thought about. I think it's possible that maybe they figured out love before, which is where Kristoff gets this idea, but I'm also not sure what that could've been exactly. It's also possible that they just told him, and he just took their word for it. Just a few guesses, but I'll admit they're a bit of a stretch. Now I'm thinking that's probably an actual sin that they should've mentioned.
