    I borrowed one of my mates for a few months a 2009 model with 48,000ks but it runs really well and is in semi decent condition, very reliable just has a bit of a personality. His got a full aftermarket pipe so it’s extremely loud, louder than most Harleys. it’s had the restrictions removed and a power commander so it’s a lot faster than stock models. His most likely going to sell it to me. I live in a small town and everyone tells me it’s the fastest 650 in the whole town. Amazing bike!

    We have these in our training bike fleet and they are superb for training on. I worked at a school a couple of years ago that use the Honda CB650F (yawn) and the pig ugly Kawasaki Z650. The Gladius is so much better as a training bike. Lower. lighter, easier to ride, comfy for all day training, perfect power delivery and with the ABS version we have, proper safe too.

    I passed my UK Mods on a bike almost identical to this. They're fantastic bikes. Lots of power, but it won't take your head off if you make a mistake.

    I was surprised on the power of the gladius, my r6 didn’t even give me that’s much of a powerful ride, bike comes up on demand

    i learn to ride on a gladius my moms bike she is a riding instructor i liked the bike a lot i know have a mt 07 and the gladius is sort of the same only bit better bike less fun the cp2 engine is jerky but i like it bu the gladius you ride away from standing still in third gear same for the mt 07 it just so easy to ride oke it wont pick up in the high rpms but its not like it drops of so you can olmost just ride in any gear with good clutch work super bike.edit and yes even with me only being 1,82cm the gladius i feel more cramped up then on my mt 07 and th mt is made for small riders to but it just works for all only the gladius has better suspencion and breaks then mt

    Yeah, there's not a lot of them that are available for sale.
    One bike I would like you to review would be the Honda CB400. I know you would probably think, because they are a 400cc bike, they are underwhelming, compared to a 600cc bike.
    However, the CB400 is a punchy little unit with an inline four engine. It has the Honda VTEC system. And it sounds like a Formula One race car in the Higher RPMs. And because it's made in Japan, it has a fine manufacturing quality to its final finish.

      CB400 is a fantastic bike. Would love to ride one just nothing available to test ride unfortunately. Thanks mate 👌🙏

      No worries mate. I'm sure somehow and someway you'll be able to get a lend of one from someone for a future review. But I won't hold my breath. In the meantime I guess there is other new bikes to review, like this year's Yamaha MT 07 and Suzuki's new Hayabusa.

    How do you know the fuel gauge?

    • @peterallan3809
      @peterallan3809 2 роки тому +4

      When the fuel gets below 3.5 litres the fuel light will blink. Once the fuel is down to 2.0 litres, the fuel light will stay on.

    Love my new to me 2014 Gladius. Came off a buell xb9 Lightning and was worried the Suzuki wouldn’t be as fun. The Gladius is almost perfect. I personally think they look better than the s650 (apart from the headlight)
    It handles better than my buell 984 and ninja 300 and is nearly as comfortable as my old shadow spirit 750.
    2014 Gladius black and gray over a red trellis frame 5,400 miles 4M exhaust. Tons of bike for the $5,700 usd after dealer fees I paid.

    Hi there, just bought a used Gladius as my sons first bike. He really likes it a lot! One thing confuses me , the lower exhaust "pipe" ( stock exhaust) is closed with some kind of plate. Is it a weird "tuning" from the previous owner or ist it closed as stock with no funktion and just for the looks?

    It's basically a more feminine version of the SV650. Same engine, same frame, just... Curvier. The good thing is, because it's seen as a chick's bike because of all the curves, if you want an SV650 platform to mod oud, the Gladius will commend lower prices on the used market and the mods will all fit the frame....
    It's a wheelie machine. Like the SV650, it's incredibly nimble and jumpy.

    • @RobertBardos
      @RobertBardos 2 роки тому +1

      The oil sump loses oil to C1 in a wheelie. This is absolutely not a wheelie machine.

    • @roymorrishx

      It's a year later and you've probably got an answer. I'm 6' 3" and I find it on the small side, but by no means unrideable. The wind kicks your ass at speed.

      You can get drop pegs, 40mm lower and handlebar risers which should help. At 79 at 5'11 just rode one home about 2500 Kilometers over two and half days. 50kg lighter than my old Vstrom. An air seat helps with the comfort level.
