Long story short...My 1st G was a 05 G35 coupe manual back in 09 put like 15k$ into the car did almost everything except turbo. stillen exhaust test pipes injen intake cold air 19 in wheels with 285s tires in the rear coilovers light weight pulleys intake manifold performance chip also tuned it headlights lip spoilers grill swap stage 3 racing clutch changed master cyclinder and lightweight flywheel camberkit racing ignition coils and plugs slotted rotors etc... My 2nd 2011 auto was a G37 coupe IPL in 2018 My 3rd was in 2021 another 05 G35 coupe auto And now in 2023 an 04 auto G35 coupe. Its pretty hard to find a decent condition manual in Miami fl Deep love for these vq coupes
I see your instrument cluster seems to be from an auto which makes me think you did a manual conversion. I'm thinking of doing the same. How bad was it?
Have the same test Y setup Its hard to bitch over the price but cat mount point brackes could have fixed the issue if they cared enought to test fit a set on a car or listen to the first customerthat bough tthis set up in 03 04 lol. Ordered Tanabe/Revel as well. Tanabe =Japan Revel= Ebay quality I wasnt impressed with my setup on the 04 sedan. Yours sounds great plus you saved $800 on the cat back.
Yea it is hard to complain given the budget friendly price point, but for sure there’s room for improvement on the design. I think I’ll end up cutting the flex parts out of the Y since they still hang kinda low. For now it gets the job done though!
I might get some ividia test pipes because one of my cat not working correctly so might get similar plus wanted ask how you able drive that fast if both tcs n slip go off mine go off now n then and won’t let me pass 10 miles like a limp mode idk 🤷🏽♂️ what’s thw issue is
No that’s perfect, since this video I’ve cut the flex out of my Y pipe too so only flex at the cats/test pipes. As long as there’s one place to flex you’re good 👍🏼
I mean if I don’t need smog or anything to do can I run my test pipes with the check engine light? Will it harm engine ? It’s throwing code for cats only
The only extensions I used were 3/8ths (to match my wrench and socket) to get the socket way down there. You can buy a variety set on Amazon. Here’s a link amzn.to/3IakW3L
@@tonycrispin sweet thank you. I have a spec d muffler with a aftermarket resonator thinking about getting resonated test pipes just to get a deeper tone and a little more throaty sounds decent right now but not as deep as I want it. Thanks for responding even over a year since!

Yea absolutely! The test pipes go before the y pipe so it wouldn’t change anything about your muffler set up 👍🏼

I have the fuse pulled for all of that stuff to fully disable TCS, a must do for drifting!
How about a whole exhaust ? Headers tests pipes y pipe and exhaust ?
Any extra would all help! Ive heard headers do make a decent difference! 👍🏼

Does a test pipe jus make more noise, or it adds a small amount of hp
HP gains for sure! Not a lot but enough to be noticeable, and even more so if you get a tune after 👌🏼

Nope! I haven’t gotten one yet, although a tune will maximize any potential power gain for sure!

No thermostat, hood, or bumper, the car wasn’t going to get to full operating temp. It was warm enough. Lol

Stock headers, test pipes and Y pipe, and back then it was a stock catback with the rear mufflers cut off lol
