My dog was diagnosed with this disease about a week and a half ago he was 63 lbs at the time of the visit, which before this he was over 100 now i bet at least he's lost another 10-15lbs and only on prednisone and having difficulty breathing now and im wondering if this can cause death? Seems like every time I give it to him his breathing becomes very hard and loud like he's having trouble with it. But his slobbering has stopped but he's still weak and looks like he's not eaten but has not much like 3 -5 cups per day when he ate 2 whole ice creams bowls full of food before this. I don't know what else I can do for him, I mean within these past few days sense vet he's gotten really boney and his left eye will not shut as he tries to sleep, he's coughing trying to get his water down or his food down. Any help with a different treatment would be greatly appreciated. I've watched and searched everything I can these past few days and it's been exhausting for me and Buddy which is 10 years old one month ago and now he looks like he's on his deathbed. This dog isn't just a dog, he is my kid he was also my brother's dog which I had to start caring for over 6 years ago and my brother passed due to a house fire which buddy tried to help him out the house but couldn't and he stayed until the house collapsed then ran out. But i also wanted to say please beware of tramadol because they prescribed it to my baby and 3 days later he started to have seizures. I mean it may work for pain in other dogs but not in mine, can anyone recommend something that he could take for pain, it seems the prednisone isn't working that well i mean it has been about 2 weeks now and he's gotten 10x worse. I mean omg he has lost half his weight already, i don't know what else to do and i don't have the extra money these vets expect from someone. ONe visit and treatment with meds was a little over 200.00 bucks and let me remind everyone just to beware of this because they can get very expensive. His first visit was 30.00 and his treatment which was the meds the prednisone 3 a day every 12 hours, ear treat ment zymox 20.00 and then i went and paid almost 60.00 for the tramadol which made him have seizures and i don't think you can get a refund on medicine, im not sure cause i got this one at the local drug store that's near me. I just wanted to give a little of my situation with my dog and trying to find some more help in this matter. Anything at all would be so so so greatly appreciated. Tnkx in advance.
