Apple needs to add some sort of one time access pass for other people to find your AirTag. Sort of like CarKey sharing through iMessage. For example, I left to work and realized I forgot my wallet. I can then share access to my AirTag to my wife to find my wallet with precise location. Idk if I’m making sense lol
I haven’t tested it but you can share the location of your devices with people in your apple family thing so I assume you could also share the location of your airtags the same way

@@alexanderwedemeyer3122 I think they will. My air tag came in the mail on the 30th but my keychain just came in today. I’m thinking about having my girlfriend take my car to the store to see how quickly she gets a notification about it. I appreciate where their head is at trying to fight against people using these to track people but they gotta think about this kind of scenario

Great video! Disappointed that you can't activate the sound beacon using Apple Watch though. Hope Apple add this in a future update!
A thief can grab your property or kids, then mark his current location as home or work and they will then get a notification that your airtag is covertly tracking them in your stolen property. They would cause it to ‘sound off’ then they find it and toss the tag, voila. That will teach you for trying to be a stalker. Basically, Apple has decided to lump all their customers into the creeper category when actually they just want to secure their own property or keep their kids or pets safe. In other words it’s worthless as a theft deterrent. Sorry but true.
@@sciencescripture you could do that with tile, square or any other tracker tho. Apple just invented their own, and everyone hates what they don’t own.
Would be great to be able to share the location of an airtag so that people can help you locate items
I can see that feature coming soon.. being able to share it with your wife, girlfriend, family so on. That way is easier also.

Thanks for the review, Andrew! I note that Apple is trying to discourage the use of AirTags to track a lost pet. That's my ONLY use for something like this. I have a set on order, and really hope that it can be used for that.
My understanding is that you will be able to track anywhere if it comes within 100 meters of any iOS device

I wanna get the new apple airtags but im so damn responsible with my belongings, I never lose anything. I'm gonna have to start slacking so this product would come in handy cuz If I were to buy it would just become a souvenir.
Same. I can barely justify buying it because I already started carrying less stuff. And push button start on like every car really helps.
I wouldn’t say that I “lose” things but as a for instance I may leave my keys in a pile of stuff and playing sound from the Airtags helps me pinpoint location. Also have taken several cross-country, round trip Amtrak trips and used Tile on my luggage, camera and iPad. Could always see where all three items were. You could have luggage checked and in the baggage car, stored in a rack in the vestibule where many people are getting on and off at many stops or stored in your sleeping compartment where the door cannot be locked when you are out of it, say in the observation or dining car. PEACE OF MIND!
I had Tile Pro devices on so many of my things. My wallet, my bag, other smaller bags inside my bag, all sets of my keys. I was out of control and it got expensive with their monthly service. I guess I’m paranoid about losing anything, so it made me feel better to heavily track it all. I’ve cut down with AirTags to just my main keychain, an easily removed one on my bag, and on my wallet of the moment. I got a four pack and ended up giving one to a friend. Plus I’m saving that monthly Tile fee.
All in all I’m very happy. I can confirm the noises on the Tile Pro were much louder but the U1 chip directions haven’t failed me yet. I gave all my Tiles to friends who didn’t think they even needed one because why not. I do want to find a way to glue them to my AiPods case because I lose that thing every. single. day. Since getting them on launch day I couldn’t be happier with them. The Tile network said I only had 2,400 other Tiles to notify me when they passed a lost object, with AirTags, I am not concerned at all. Everyone has an iPhone or iPad or MacBook around where I live so all in all, these were the highlights of the products announcements this spring for me.

does anyone know if these can act as motion sensors, like alert you if lets say it was inside a lockbox and that box was moved
The only usage for me is going to be my airport checked in bags, so I can track the distance between my seat and the bag :D

Same. Ordered from Apple with Customise. End of May due date! Not “a few days extra”. So yesterday, cancelled with Apple, ordered Amazon, arrived today. Happy.
It’s now Feb. 12, 2022. I’ve placed two orders via the Apple Store App. Both have been customized in China and sent via FedEx to the United States and received in less than 10 days from order dates.

Nope. Just passing by is enough for you to get notified. :)
Hi, can we use these for pets? Let's say they are 2-3km away, how can we find them?
It uses nearby devices in the Find My network to update its location. If you live in a populated area it’s alright but if you are in the countryside don’t rely on it to work.

Ken multiple people track the same air tag. Example daughter, mom, dad, tracking a set of car keys.
Unfortunately, only the person that registered the AirTag has access to it. At this time, you can’t share it or have your family members view your tag.

Tiles have the ability to make your iPhone play a sound. Shame AirTags can’t do this
I can see why poeople would like this but I hate it. Every once in awhile I would hit it by accident and my phone would start making a super loud sound that you have to unlock the iPhone to turn off. Then I turned the feature off on all my tiles but somehow it would turn itself back on every once in a while. Plus if you have an Apple Watch you can just use that.

Problem is you can’t put it on stuff that’s liable to move and be out of your range for more than three days, eg equipment you might want to lend to friends, your pets if you leave them with friends or family for more than three days, your car if somebody else uses it and you are out of range for more than three days.

This product is absolute garbage I got mine yesterday and tested it out the entire day and the Bluetooth connection is garbage. Have to be 10 feet or less away from it before it even picks the connection up. The precision finding is garbage. Precision finding does not work whatsoever and lastly the sound is not loud at all my tile pro was much louder and much more accurate at finding my keys!

I was wondering about this, but you get an alert if an airtag not registered to you is picked up repeatedly. You can find and disable the air tag.
