Recently, UA-cam (Google) made some changes to how users are able to embed live streams onto their websites. Previously, we recommended using the embed code along with the 'Channel ID' as this didn't require constant editing of the website where the live stream embed is located. We are unsure if this change is permanent or if this service is just temporarily unavailable. Until we know more, here are some temporary solutions: 1. Paste the individual live stream embed code into your website each week. To do this go to UA-cam Studio and click 'Content' > 'Live' > 'Get Sharable link' and then paste that link for that specific scheduled live stream into the Video element or RAW element in Cornerstone on your website. This will need to be done each week until a new solution is made available via UA-cam. 2. Replace the live stream with a button that goes to your UA-cam channel's live stream. To find this, go to your UA-cam channel and click 'Live'. Use the URL there and add it to the button element on Cornerstone in your WordPress website. This URL should be a more permanent solution but will remove the end user from your website. We will continue to reach out to UA-cam and hopefully find a better solution for users who choose to utilize UA-cam live streaming.
Following! We're in the same situation with our church. The permanent live embed link via channel ID makes it a lot easier for our members that aren't 'tech-savvy'. We've used the permanent link for a couple of years then lost capability approximately 1 week ago. We've added the hyperlink button to our website, but it isn't the optimum solution. Hoping you receive some information from UA-cam soon!
One other temporary solution i am trying is creating and embedding a youtube playlist that contains your scheduled live events and then arrange the playlist so that the most recent upcoming event is at the top of the playlist... You still have to manually arrange the playlist on your youtube channel after the latest event has been streamed... but at least it might be a less complicated workflow than copying the embed link from youtube and pasting it into website. Hope that helps.
I discovered that embeding as described here works fine when there's only one upcoming live stream scheduled. Once a second live stream is scheduled, it no longer works. I haven't yet tested to see if using multiple stream keys would solve the problem as it would create a workflow problem here.
@@st.josephcatholicchurchbow7287 Thank you for sharing. I have been creating the next Sunday's event in UA-cam around the same time that I set up my encoder, so I was mistaken. I have a few more unlisted events scheduled and those do not seem to affect the code--only multiple public events. I tried different stream keys but still encountered the error. I will create the next week's event after our service ends for now until they fix the problem. Thanks again!
Thank you. I actually did try setting that up yesterday (after I figured out how to do it). It seems to work, as now the next stream is showing properly. I should be able to find out tonight if it actually streams on our website during the service. Thanks again! Your tutorial and the comments have been most helpful. Really, it seems to be the only thing out there that helps with an ongoing embedded live stream.

As promised, here are the links and embed codes mentioned in the video. Let us know if you have any questions! Live Stream URL: ua-cam.com/video/live_stream/v-deo.htmlchannel=[YOUR CHANNEL ID HERE] Embed Code [Less Than Symbol] width="560" height="315" src="ua-cam.com/video/live_stream/v-deo.htmlchannel=[YOUR CHANNEL ID HERE]" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen[Greater Than Symbol][Less Than Symbol]/[Greater Than Symbol] Note: The UA-cam Description does not allow for angled brackets (Greater than and less than symbols). Ok, thank God, I believe He showed me just now what to do. Takes a few steps but works. Step one: set up your scheduled livestream as mentioned. Step two: While you are still on the setup page, click on the "Share" Arrow, in the upper right-hand corner next to your UA-cam logo (the circle with your initial in it), and copy the video link at the bottom of the popup screen. Step four: Paste that link into a new tab in your browser and hit the ENTER key. Now you should see your scheduled video. Step five and finally: Click on the Share icon(arrow) at the bottom of the video; click on embed; copy to your website page. You may need to tweak accordingly to your needs.
I'm changing out links to our church services multiple times a day. The permalink worked for over 5 years. It must be something on UA-cam's side that they broke or decided to turn off. I've tried a plugin that didn't work and created a web application using JavaScript and the UA-cam API V3, but it has a limit to how many times a day it can be pinged and we hit that pretty early in the day.
@@reachright I'm noticing that it does work if you only have 1 video scheduled at a time. I personally will schedule several videos out at a time, so this still doesn't work for me, but it could work for others who don't stream as often.
I am having the same issue. The link worked great. Now it doesn't. Have tried everything I can think of and everything that I have looked up on the internet. Your video was the best so far but still getting the error. Hope UA-cam/google let us know what we have to do to fix this soon!!
Hey Sis. I have a question. So I have our Website and we use Streamyard for our Church Live services that we go live on UA-cam as well as Facebook every Sunday. However do I need to log in to my website every time to embed the code or is there a way I can set it up once and everytime we go Live on UA-cam through Streamyard it'll automatically come on live on the website also??? Is there a way that I set it up once or I have to do that everytime before the service on to my website?
Hey there. I'd assume you can do the same as others here and embed the UA-cam playlist on your website - that does not need to be changed each time you go live, but you'd need to test your stream after embedding to the website to make sure things are linked properly. (I am not too familiar with Streamyard), but most of the streaming platforms would work pretty similarly. Let us know what you try and what works for you. Here is the playlist embed code that has worked for many: Less Than Symbol width="560" height="315" src="ua-cam.com/video/videoseries/v-deo.htmllist= put your playlist code here" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen[Greater Than Symbol][Less Than Symbol]/[Greater Than Symbol]
Thank you for your helpful information. It seemed to work great when I created my first stream, but then as others discovered when I scheduled multiple streams I got the error message. Has there been any progress on solving this issue? We schedule separate streams for our Sunday School and our Morning Service which comes right after Sunday School. We would love to be able to embed seamlessly with our scheduled streams as it sounds like you used to be able to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
Unfortunately, I have not seen any changes or updates to UA-cam's embedding options. I do think that trying the embedding of the playlist instead of the channel ID can solve the issue for now.
Thank you. I am trying the playlist idea and hopefully that will work well enough for us. Tried last night, and it played the video, but afterward I discovered I had only embedded the video and not the playlist. That is solved now and we'll see how it goes this weekend. Thanks for your reply and for your help. It is much appreciated!@@reachright
It went well this weekend, and though it's not perfect, I think we can make the playlist method work with some explanatory notes on our website. The tricky thing is that our Morning Service starts approx. 7-10 minutes after Sunday School, which is our first live stream of the day. After Sunday School we can delete Sunday School from the play list but the website user will need to refresh his screen to see the next scheduled live stream. Another helpful tip that some of your subscribers might want to use or try out is embedding the scheduled stream to play automatically. When this is done, instead of getting a play button, it shows how much time until the live stream begins, and then when you go live it plays automatically. To do this find the end of your embedded playlist or video in the embed code. Then right before the closed quotation mark and right next to the last character of your playlist or video, add the following line: &autoplay=1 Once again, I so much appreciate all of your helpful insight. Thank you!@@reachright
If you are using WordPress, you need to add the RAW CONTENT element and that is where you paste in the embed code. I hope that helps, but let us know if you have more questions and we'll try to point you in the right direction.
@@magenhyatt8169 Hello, thank you for the video, but it worked for only one video, after that anytime i want to go on live, it does not work again, rather it keeps showing this video is unavailable, please what can i do
Hey there! It looks like you can embed private and unlisted videos from UA-cam to a website. For the private videos, you'd have to give required credentials or access to the channel, but for the unlisted videos, they can be seen by anyone with a link to the video. Hope that helps.
Magen, thanks for this awesome video tut. My question is, if you take the scheduling route and set the stream for weekly, in regards to the thumbnail image, can you create and add the specific thumbnail to each schedule or will they need to be changed weekly if the actual thumbnail is different for each service? Thanks in advance. Oh and just a side note, you share my daughters first name just spelled differently and we share the same last name. How strange is that, that I would come across your video. ❤
Hey there! Since each stream is scheduled on the calendar, you should be able to create a custom thumbnail for each stream/scheduled event. Or you could of course use a logo or something generic until you have a custom thumbnail for the upcoming or recently posted video. I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, let me know. (I have only ever met one other Magen spelled the same as me) Ha!
Hey there. I am sure you could since each stream would have its own URL, you'd just need to add that embed code with the individual stream information on your site where you need it.
Quick question: the only way I could get this to work is to have only one scheduled livestream. As soon as I scheduled more than one, I would get the error message, "This video is unavailable." Is there a way to have multiple scheduled livestreams without the error message coming up? Or can it only work with scheduling one video at a time? Thanks!
I did notice this as well. If you have another stream scheduled, it seems to break the channel stream. I did try to use just the Playlist ID and then you have manually rearrange the videos in the correct order, but that worked. As long as all of your scheduled streams are in the same playlist, you can do it this way. Embed code would be as follows: Give that a try and let us know.
