Thank you so much for this info. I had surgery yesterday for a broken wrist on 4/26/24. In the ER the very first thing the doctor wanted to do was schedule me for one scan. I immediately said I would not take bisphosfonates, so she didn’t order the test! I’m sure it will come up again at a more appropriate time in my treatment, but I thought this was rather telling at this teaching hospital within the University of Wisconsin. Thanks again.
Excellent material. I’m going to listen again and take notes. I have severe osteoporosis and have decided the medications are not something I’m willing to risk. I’m going to do diet and lifestyle approach.
Medications are not always a bad choice. Building bone naturally takes years and if you are at great risk for fracture in the short term, you should consider meds with the patient intention of transitioning off at some point. Meds plus lifestyle.
@@judyculang3766 many of the drugs. Once you start, you have to be on them for life forever, because what they are stopped bone deteriorate at a much faster rate I’ve done a lot of research on it. Medication’s are crazy. Unbelievable that they even got passed through FDA.
my dr test urine for ntx, is that similar to ctx? Thanks for the information regarding no exercising for 48 hours before the test and also need to test as early in the morning as possible.
