- Better late than never! In May of 2014, our Sister Mary Angelique made her First Profession as a Poor Clare Nun, here at our Monastery in Barhamsville, Virginia. The text is her own composition and the music a favorite piece from the movie Therese.

With God's grace, I am entering the monastery of Poor Clares in Brasilia, Brazil this June. And it is so beautiful for me to see these young brides of Christ persevering in His call! Thank you so much for all these videos, sisters!

Sister, I don't know if I'm being called to religious life, but whenever I think about it my heart fills with joy and I feel a deep longing to do it. I'm scared I'm too young or not good enough to be a sister, but giving my life to God seems like it would make me very happy.
Also, how would I know what order to even join? I feel like I would make the wrong choice.

Kira is right! And I would add that if anyone would feel she were good enough, there would be something wrong! Joy and fear are both involved in a vocation journey for we are dealing with the awesome God. As for your youth, if you have graduated from high school, you are old enough to enter religious life. If not, then just wait and you will be! Personal maturity may take a little longer, however. Most orders think that the early twenties is a good age. Follow the Lord's lead in finding the Order He wants for you. When you visit and you feel at home, that is a good sign. God bless you on your way!
