Y'know, ever since this deconstruction dropped, I've loved the part between 0:58 to 1:27. I like emotional-sounding music, and these melodies hit me there particularly, so that's a big reason why I like them... And yet, I also thought there was something else about these melodies I loved, but wasn't able to pinpoint, until I recently realised what that was: It reminds me very strongly of similar emotional vibes I get from some melodies in Angel Island Zone: Act 2's track, from 1:44 to 1:57 in carpathia808's deconstruction! 🧡
It doesn't, so I and others find patches used in the music, transcribe the original track, and try to match the mixing as best as possible to remake it. Then we export stems and render the video with corrscope.
@@ultimatesonicgaming7478 Senoue doesn't really edit patches, so most of it is just going through the sounds enough to where you're so familiar that you can recognize them without even checking, and then from there it's all pattern recognition. For example, Senoue likes to use Reso Rubber Lead from Vacuum a lot earlier in the game, but then starts switching to the darker sounding Dirty Reso Lead about halfway through the soundtrack. So if you hear something from the beginning of the soundtrack that sounds like Reso Rubber Lead, then it probably is, and then you do a demo and write it down on the sheet.

1:28 this is SO good everyone needs to listen to this part
Sounds like a beach zone's act 1, but act 2 is nighttime and suddenly it becomes sad and melancholic.
Arguably my favorite Sonic 4 level track lol
I'm in love with that clavinet
Never thought I'd see a deconstruction of Sonic 4.
This is my favorite song! I'm glad you took the time to deconstruct the song because I always wondered what instruments were used. Thank you!
sounds good!
I love Sonic 4 ost ❤️

The bass line is so sick! My favorite part 0:28
Also doesnt sonic 4 not have a deconstructable format for its music? Or do you have to remake it?

It kinda sounds like the Genesis
Episode 1: MEOW
Episode 2: simulating Genesis
Sonic Superstars Juneou: Episode 2 flashbacks
It's so retro
wow how long does this take?
The total remake time for this track was 3 hours and 11 minutes, which is about standard.
@@NUKELEDGE Wow that sound quick
How do you even make out the sounds for each instrument

How do you get access to these instruments?
Vacuum and Xpand!2 are default instruments in Pro Tools, which is the DAW that Jun Senoue uses.

Thanks! I've always wanted to experiment with this soundfont, so I guess I have to learn how Pro Tools works.
