As I was watching this I kept thinking you need to make a matching outfit for yourself. I'm glad you're going to do one in the future. This doll outfit came out so beautiful.
Thanks! I bought the fabric, so the version for me will be coming next fall. And I'm holding out for a white body Molly, but my budget for one is pretty low. Hopefully I'll find one at some point!
This makes me so happy! I love your channel because I love seeing different eras represented on a body similar to mine (Plus you’re fun!). That said, I only actually make AG doll costumes so this was an excellent surprise! As someone who loves hand sewing and historical costuming but has zero patience or desire to make things for my own body, doll scale allows me to still play in the community a bit without hating big chunks of a project. Pemberly threads is one of my favorites - I’m working on her 1850s fan front dress for my Julie. One of these days I’m going to draft a lingerie dress for Samantha…but she’s happy with a walking skirt and shirtwaist (by Anne Van Doren Patterns) for now :)
All the pieces (and the bonnet especially) turned out sooo cute!! For those bonnets, I always use a layer of fusible interfacing on the buckram before covering with silk to avoid the texture showing through and make the pieces sturdier.
The dolls outfit is so gorgeous and i love how it looks with the underclothes. I do think the white collar thing looked better when you brought the ends together. The bonnet is stunning! I really enjoy these doll videos.
I really enjoyed the videos with doll sized clothing! I was a fan of American Girl dolls as a kid and now my own daughters love the Our Generation dolls. I have some doll outfits I need to sew up & your videos have inspired me to get working! (I love all your content, I just never make anything for myself, so it’s more living vicariously than inspirational 😄)
Love to see this project- my mom bought me an Addy doll in 94 and boought all of the patterns for her clothes, and I first learned to sew on those, so I have a big ol' soft spot in my heart for AG doll clothes making.
So cute! I love making doll clothes BUT I will be making myself a dressy black lace Pelerine to go over a beautiful Victorian-ish black blouse I bought. The blouse is fairly plain except for beautiful sleeves & cuffs. I get my incentive to sew creations from you often & from Bernadette Banner's handsewn lacework.
I loved my American girl dolls as a kid and actually got into sewing my making various outfits for them, so I am definitely going to check out Pemberly Threads. I also used to work at a living history museum set in the 1830s so this is just so cute to see in such a small scale!
@@LadyRebeccaFashions Conner Prairie near Indianapolis has an 1836 village as well as an 1863 one in addition to a few other things. Everyone in the village is all in character so it’s pretty cool!
Soooooo cute! 😍 My first love is making soft dolls and doll clothes, but it's been a long time since I did. I think you've inspired me to get back to it.
So so so cute! I also have a(n original) Samantha doll, and I got way into AG with both my girls. My younger daughter and I co-created a tiny Renaissance outfit for her doll (a Just Like Me) for one of her history classes. :D I love this outfit you made, and I think you’d look splendid in a you-sized one! Thank you as always for representing plus sizes in your costuming and channel! It’s so inspiring and affirming. :)
Samantha does look cute in the 1830s costume you made for her. I would hope that if American Girl creates an 1830s character, her outfit looks as nice as the one you made. Would a girl Samantha's age have actually worn a corset in the 1830s, though? I know that females of all ages wore chemises, but I'm still not sure what little kids wore.
Thanks! I'm not 100% sure, since girls far younger wore stays in the 18th c, but I believe that girls in the Victorian era didn't start wearing corsets until they were around 10 or 11. So I'm not sure when exactly the corset/stays-wearing age changed.
Tiny prononciation thing about the word chemisette: in French, if the letter s is by itself between 2 vowels, it's pronounced like a z. So while it's spelt chemisette, it's pronounced chemizette. But you're saying it while speaking English, so it's more of a grey area prononciation wise... Also, I love your videos!

All that's needed now is a reticule. I have enjoyed watching small sewing. Thank you.
yes! maybe in purple to match the ribbon on the bonnet!
For hooks and eyes, check out the bridal ones, which come super tiny, and white.
Good to know!
She is so cute!! I vote for it to be your Fall project too!!! I think you need a Molly doll, she is the best!!

Everything about this just made me smile. Also you're wearing your gunne sax'o'ween dress from 21 🧡

Thank you! I think I'm going to take advantage of Pemberly Threads' black Friday sale and get the 18th c patterns too. 😉
Adorable! I would love to see a full sized version of that dress someday 🙂.
Next fall! 😉 And thanks!
This came out so well! I so enjoy the doll videos and look forward to seeing you make your matching gown.
Thank you!

Oh interesting! That's a great idea. And thanks!
Absolutely adorable! And you should definitely make a dress for your self next year! Pumpkins for all!
I found the fabric, so that's my plan! And thanks!
Would you ever make Addie’s Christmas gown for yourself? I saw a near perfect fabric match on fabricmart today 😊
I love her Christmas dress! I hadn't planned to do it this year, but it's always a possibility!
I have seen that we have American Girl dolls in the UK now which we didn’t when I was a kid but THE HAIR, I wanna play with it so much

I’m here for the creepy dead-eyed doll content! She may be haunted but her outfit is fire :)
That is the sweetest thing I've ever seen 😍
Very cute. I loved using, essentially, a tiny hat pin. That was perfect.
Oh, my gosh, what a darling little ensemble!
xoxo's Sandie😊
I get obsessed to bonnet the last time you made for your outfit

Everything is so beautifully made, especially the bonnet. And you do so well video-ing. I love seeing all the details...clear and bright!
Thank you!
What a wonderful outfit! I have a few dolls that need a new outfit. Her outfit is so inspiring.( outfit seems to be my favourite word at the moment!)
She's adorable, Lady Rebecca! 😍😍😍 I LOVE the colors and I wish I could time travel to see if you did make a matching outfit for yourself!! 😉
Thank you! I've bought the fabric for myself, but I probably won't make it till next fall.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions You're welcome! Okay, it'll be a long wait, but totally worth it!! 🙂
Very cute! Can’t wait for your outfit!
What a cute little hat!
Wow, amazing! I have no words. I want this dress for both me and my doll, lol.
Thank you! And yep, that's why I'm going to make one for myself next year. 😉
It’s super cute!!!

Woah, where is there a living history museum set in the 1830s? That's awesome!

Can you imagine the fashions the Victorians would have accomplished with hot glue? :D

Interesting! I've never heard anyone pronounce it with a z.
You’re located in Washington?? I just moved to the Raymond Washington area last month
Yep! I'm south of Seattle.
