That blouse/dress you are wearing is so dang cute! I used to make miniature size of historical dresses I wanted to make for myself when I wasn't sure of the construction. It was very helpful to understand how a style of dress works before cutting into a whole bunch of expensive fashion fabric.
This is soooooooo pretty. Total success. I love making dresses for dolls this size. I'm not historically focused, though. Currently, I am working on a fairy godmother dress with 5 layers of skirt with ruffles and a snap on pair of wings! :)
This is adorable!!😍 I LOVE the fabrics you used; the scale of the flowers is perfect!! 😍 If you're not happy with the lace around her neck, maybe try layering a wider piece over it? Seriously if you hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have noticed it's not wide enough. 😆
I pounced on this video when I saw the title! I used to work at a living history site where our year was 1845 so this dress reminded me of the one I hand sewed for my costume there, with those bodice pleats and the sleeves! This little dress came out beautifully and I LOVE the shot silk bonnet!
What a darling and high-end outfit and the fabric is perfect! You could hand sew a wider lace on in the future. The bonnet is absolute doll couture; now there's a side hustle, doll millenary! I hope you feel better soon. xoxo's Sandie
The fabric for the dress is so pretty and once seeing the whole thing finished i was just wow! I love the bodice so much! The bonnet turned out adorables!
This doll really makes me want to get an American Girl doll and make lots of clothes for it. I love all these historical costumes you make but have no where to wear them. But maybe I could make them for a doll? What an idea.
You can easily add a second stripe of lace at the neck, hand stitch onto the one you have put on with white so the original overlaps the new, and then you have the width required.
I absolutely love this dress and bonnet. I am truly enamored by the trimming you did for the bonnet!! After I was introduced to your channel I knew I had to get an American Girl doll to make fun patterns like these. I'm looking forward to following a Pemberly Threads pattern soon!
Happy Birthday Rebecca. I hope that you are having a lovely day. By the way, I'm so pleased that you and your mum are coming over to England. If you ever want to look me up, I live in Hebden Bridge smack in the middle of Brönte country and Shibden Hall where Gentleman Jack was filmed. I know West Yorkshire is probably not on your itinerary, but its beautiful, as is the south west. 😊
Thank you! And your book and lace collars just arrived, and they are wonderful! A perfect birthday present. Unfortunately West Yorkshire isn't on our trip this time, but I would love to go there in the future. I've been to York itself, but I don't think I've seen that much of the rest of Yorkshire.
Have you thought about adding a second row of lace around the collar Under the edge of the sewn lace? That might it make it the length you would like and would only need to be hand stitched down.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions pin it and see if it makes you happy. If so , sew away. If not, no problem just un-pin. It also might help the sewn lace lie more flat.
I was watching a sewing UA-cam video called Kim,s Sewing, she was making a three-pocket bag, but what I noticed was she was using a fabric the same as the fabric you were looking for in one of your American Girl dolls, blue with red small flowers. thought if you contacted her you might be able to find out where she purchased the fabric.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions Did you make these underlayers yourself or borrow them from other dolls? If I'm not mistaken, historical dolls that represent the 19th or 20th century come with only drawers, pantalettes, or modern underpants as their underlayers.
@@cartoonygothica they're borrowed from other dolls. It's a Felicity-style chemise/shift, and Samantha style bloomers. Evette is a modern doll, so she actually only came with modern underpants, but yeah, the 19th c dolls (Addy, Kirsten, etc) come with pantalettes only (though you can purchase chemises for them that come in their undergarment sets), and 18th c dolls (Felicity and Elizabeth) only come with shifts (though Felicity has an undergarment set with stays, an embroidered pocket, and pocket hoops.
Great video. Love the way the dress and bonnet came out. How hard do you think it would be to up-size the bonnet to fit a human? I'm having problems finding accurate patterns for the 1840's-1850's period.
Thanks! I know that Penny River costumes found out that if they printed their new bonnet pattern in 55% scale, it would fit an American Girl doll, so I'm guessing the reverse math might work on this? I'm not sure if that means 145% scale, or if the math is more complicated than that, though.
I’m glad you did a doll dress this week. You’ve had so much going on and I don’t want you burning out. It’s super cute!!!

Dora wearing the bonnet was too cute!
I really enjoy these doll dress projects. It's easier to see the techniques, and nice to see an entire project in one video. Great work!
Beautiful dress & bonnet. I enjoyed seeing your creation completed in one video. Dora was so adorable walking over your work area.

So pretty! I love the fabrics. And yay for small wins!
Dora's "mom, you're embarrassing me" look is precious.
That's a really cute dress. Turned out very awwdorable.
I’m so glad your going the opposite directions and making doll dresses. These kinds of projects are my jam. I love making doll dresses.
Her dress turned out so pretty... even without a petticoat.
Hello, thanks for popping over! It’s been a day, always great to see you!

your pink top looks so pretty on you.
love the shot silk bonnet
The pleating is impressive on such a small dress! And i just love how the hat came out.
The bonnet really sets off Evette's eyes.
Absolutely gorgeous dress and bonnet!! I love the fabric choice and the green feather with the blue flowers in the bonnet are just perfect!!
Everything turned out beautifully. I love the variety that the doll outfits add.
The fabric perfect for that pattern and I love the finishes inside and out. The bonnet is adorable. Beautiful work!❤
Yes! We totally love Dora
I've been looking forward to this ever since you announced it on Instagram. It was a great reward after work today!
That pleated front on the dress is really lovely. I so understand the small wins between the big projects.
I looooooove the dress you are wearing!!

You can find a lot of the dolls really inexpensively on the secondhand market! 😉
Great video ❤️. I just bought this pattern and this is so great to see before I make it!
Sooooo cute & I love the bonnet so much!

@@LadyRebeccaFashions I got Blaire!
@@squashsimmer oh, she's so pretty! Nice choice!
Could you add an extra row of the same lace? I think that'd look great.
Possibly! I might give it a try.
That was fun! Adorable and storable....Happy Birthday for the actual day.
Thank you!
Adorably pretty xxxx
Gorgeous!

I love love love the shirt or dress you are wearing
Thanks! It's a new Eshakti dress!
Such a cute dress.
I was typing to ask about your Serger when you said it was still in the shop. I had to backspace. I hope it comes back as good as new.
Just got it back, and it seems to be working great!

I thought this, too!
Yeah, I keep going back and forth on whether I want to or not.

❤❤ hi Dora & Lyon!
This is adorable! I adore the bonnet!
Hope you feel better soon!
Just add some more lace on top of the skinny stuff. Very cute!
Loove the 1840s
The dress and bonnet both turned out beautifully. I wonder, what underlayers did you have Evette wear with this dress?
Thanks! I know it's super scandalous, but she's just wearing a chemise and bloomers! I do really need to make her a petticoat at least though.

Con crud is a thing, glad you are getting better. How's the new job
It's going pretty well. I talked about it more in my q&a. 😉
Dora bellyyyyyyyy
Delicious!

What glue did you use please?
Hot glue
Why don't you add a more longer lace onto collar area.
Yeah, I think I might.
Dora is getting a bit chubby maybe she needs to walk with Lion
I'm sorry, while I appreciate your commitment, 1840s is super dreary to me! Plus the bonnets looked super dorky!
Honestly, I kind of agree. It's definitely one of my least favorite eras, but I wanted to try this pattern anyway.
