Well, Edwardian hats were the giant flat hats of the suffragettes with plumes and such. Your hat is actually more of a regency bonnet. But its a lovely regency bonnet.
It's really pretty and understandable. The only thing that slightly annoys me is, that it's more of a regency/early Victorian bonnet than a Edwardian one.
Very good DIY, easy to follow and make, it’s inspiring to see how we can easily make things with simple stuff instead of spending money on it!! Awesome Work
Very beautiful Bonnet Irene! I really think it's awesome that you spend the time to create such cool pieces for your shoots! I especially like when you design your own bouquets for your fairy style shoots! I'm always stoked to see what you come up with! Thank you for sharing this DIY project with us! Cheers from Boston!
I LOVE it, I've not thought about using a bonnet, but this makes me want to make one now. I used to do DIY stuff all the time, & now that' i'm doing photography, I'm finding that my DIY skills are coming in handy.... $$$ saver for sure. as usual, I love all of your videos...!!!!
Thanks for sharing. I also adore Regency Era clothing and hats. I just join a Regency Society in my state which I have to make 3-4 ball gowns and 6 day dresses. I collected hat for the spring thru fall but I do not have any straw hats. I will be using your DIY straw hat project as my own.
Luv this, it also helps to keep the hat in place on windy days and to look pretty with it, last time I tried to nit a ribbon on my summer hat to my chin it just looked like a taco on my head > >;
this is so clever! I went to a Victorian tea party today and I wanted to make a hat or a bonnet but I ran out of time after I made a apron but this will be good for next year
Wow, beautiful!! Thank you for the tutorial. The instructions were clear and the end result was pretty. However, I wondered if the underside in the back (the part that meets the neck) should have been finished along the edge in some way? Also, what about filling the crown so that it is a bit fuller/stiffer, as the Regency bonnets were?
I see a lot of people made the comment already. It’s a lovely bonnet, but neither Victorian or Edwardian. History of fashion is very interesting and fun to study. There are a lot of good books written about the subject. With many good examples of what is what. Please change the title 🙏🏻
I'm just wondering why you don't sew all the ribbons and flowers into the head? Maybe I'm not used to the power of your glue, but if I would glue any decoration on the hat, I might have the feeling that everything falls on the floor the moment I put the hat on XD
Great tutorial! If you want something a bit more sturdy I'd recommend sewing everything instead of using glue. Except maybe the flowers, tose are a paint to sew ^^'
Wow, what a beautiful hat! You have such an artistic eye in so many creative fields. Really glad to see you make new DIY videos, they're so much fun to watch. How do you store your headpieces and hats after you've made them to protect them/retain their form?
At first, I'm like... oooh! And then I'm like... wait... and then I was like... srsly? What about the rest of it!? What about ( a thousand other little details) and then suddenly in my head, I hear Irene going " GTFO it's my damn bonnet I do what I want! " and I realize... yeah... actually that's completely valid and interestingly enough deeply freeing too. I mean... how great is this for like a one-day costume finisher? Would I wear it to a historical society gathering? No. Absolutely not. But for a DIY lolita group meeting or like adding that last-minute emergency bonnet to an outfit that MUST have a bonnet! - perfect- I mean imagine how many events could use a lovely bonnet but that need event or holiday specificity. You gonna spend a literal eternity sewing buckram and hand-dyed silk trim for a bonnet that gets used for one outfit only or one that gets used only once a year? F*ck no your gonna grab your hot glue gun and your stash of crappy dollar store sun hats and you're gonna Irene Rudnyk the sh*t out of that thing then fold it up away in the closet and use it once a year or every time you wear that one outfit you made it for even though the bonnet doesn't match and can't be used for anything else and it'll be okay - cause it cost you 20$ and only took a day to make. Fabulous. You'll save your bonnet masterpiece - (whenever you finally finish it/ can afford the material/ the time to make it) for much more sophisticated and multiple-use/multiple outfit occasions and more historically accurate events and then keep it in a pristine crystal glass treasure box on a head-form in the closet that you made out of a live cast of your own upper body with temperature control ceader planks..... and then it really hits me.... Psh... man seriously do I even need a masterpiece bonnet - is that my life? No. I don't think so- Thanks Irene for showing us that a bonnet that looks nice in a picture from far away is perfectly acceptable. I love that. I definitely want a spectrum of historical costumers. I have appreciation and respect for the " period police" but some of us just feel enthusiastic and simply don't have the privilege that other people do - and that is and always should be okay and acceptable in every enthusiast community. ( looking at you lolitas and BJD elitists)

@Gabriel Karsyn uhhh... invasion of privacy much?
Está muy lindo .sombrero de pioneros SUD 1850.

Thank you! I wear lolita and can't find a bonnet to match my dream jsk and this is so helpful!
Instructions unclear. I put it on my manly head and now I'm feeling fabulous.

Thank you for this. I want to make a bonnet to wear to a costume party, and I'm definitely going to try this method out.
Amazing! I cannot wait to make one!
Beautiful!

I will love to make that for my school project
Very useful, going to use this to make the bonnet for my Little Bo Peep Halloween costume!
Your DIY videos are amazing!!! I didn't realize I needed them in my life!
I "diy'd" an Easter bonnet using your instruction 😊 if only I could show you
brilliant Irene
This is good DIY - cheap materials, simple solutions, easy hiding of “crimes”.
Finally I found a DIY! Thank you so much!
OH I have hat that's just collecting dust..... time to bust out the glue gun! Thanks for this! :D
2:00 "it's really really hot, that's why I'm using a pen to protect my fingers"
* uses fingers *
😂😂
Leon Krack haha, true
Irene Rudnyk inspiring video tho!
😂🎉
The Dickens fair is coming up. So thanks so much!

I love it.
Very beautiful !!!!
So beautiful
this is really cute & I'm going to attempt making my own.
do you have a pic of yourself/someone wearing it?
That's amazing... will you use it in a photoshoot? can't wait to see it...
of course ;)
Wow such a great diy!
Yay I found this video again!!!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video i wotry to make one ❤❤❤❤
Nice work. I like it
super cute!
I'm going to make this for my American girl doll
I'm just wondering why you don't sew all the ribbons and flowers into the head? Maybe I'm not used to the power of your glue, but if I would glue any decoration on the hat, I might have the feeling that everything falls on the floor the moment I put the hat on XD
The hot glue it very strong. It would be very hard to sew the plastic flowers so glue works so much better.
Ooh, I like it. :-)
Did you leave the cut edges "raw", or did you line them with ribbon or something? :-)
Eres genial!!!! Gracias por él tutorial, lo haré pronto. Besos.
Nice work!)

Hi Irene! You are so amazing and I wish I could take amazing photos like you. One day...
Very Nice!
it's beautiful 😍
Thank you!!!
same. i like victorian fashion
У тебя золотые руки!
You are so amazing!
Irene, es usted insuperable.
Nice! How did you finish the cut edges?
Toy Story Bo Peep. That is the vibe of this bonnet.
Omg that's what I'm looking for
Looking good
How do you keep the inside lace from bunching up on the circle? Mine won’t lay flat.
Wow, what a beautiful hat! You have such an artistic eye in so many creative fields. Really glad to see you make new DIY videos, they're so much fun to watch. How do you store your headpieces and hats after you've made them to protect them/retain their form?
i love it
How would a modern day or a more evolved bonnet look like?
Do you have to sew two ribbons together or is that optional?
Definitely optinal
Irene Rudnyk thank you!
Very nice but what happened to the edge at the back you cut
Nice
What fabric is the hat made of?
At 0:45 she tells us it is a straw hat, 5 dollars from Value Village.
This is a Regency bonnet.
Your DIYs are so upsetting because they remind me how talent less I am... WAAAHHHH :'( Beautiful work.
Thanks for the info but you should have finish the edge of the back of the bonnet
Traducirlo al español, por favor
So cut
Edwardian and Victorian are different. You made a Victorian hat, but the title of this video says Edwardian.
Yeah, I should change the title.
It’s actually more of a regency bonnet
Do you still have this bonnet 👒?
Title: Edwardian
Voice-over: Victorian
Bonnet: Regency 👁️👄👁️
Not hating, it's a lovely bonnet but just a small critique
