- Todd reckons he simply looks good on a Royal Enfield Interceptor. Originally from upstate New York, he now calls Geelong in Victoria, Australia home. He's had a couple of bikes, but his current bike is a beautiful Royal Enfield Interceptor. He reckons that Royal Enfield as a brand represents excellent value for money and we couldn't agree more, especially because they are so easy to customise.

With 2 REs in the stable... Bullet 500 with Cozy sidecar and an Interceptor, in Ravishing Red ! ... I can highly recommend the product... but since I bought mine.. a great value at the time.. the new 2024's on the show room floor are over $7-8000.oo.... priced near it competitors .... I was at the Kawaski dealer yesterday... a left over 2022 W800.... a very handsome machine... on sale $6999.00... I still tell others the RE 650 is the parallel twin every other manufacturer over the decades wanted to build. 😎
Yes the W800 always has been a very good looking bike. Not sure why, but in Australia they don’t seem to sell very well. It’s basically a better Bonneville than a Bonneville. How does the 500 go pulling a side car?
With the wife.... or loaded with all my camping gear and panniers on the bike... if rolls along at a steady 55mph.. with a bit of steam left in the kettle.. @@BikerTorque

Yes, it’s a stunning paint job and the video really doesn’t do it justice. From what I’ve heard the R1300GS is an absolute winner, but not really the surprising, the 1200GS and 1250GS are both amazing bikes. Actually I got to ride a mid 80s R80GS recently and that was incredible also.
Definitely a fan of the Interceptor! Do you guys know if BSA will bring the Gold Star to Australia? Natural competition to the Interceptor with similar power figures so would be good to see it here next year!
I don’t think it’s coming to Australia just yet, have spoken to a few importers and none are interested. Might have to get Biker Torque involved in the import business because I would love to ride one, look very cool and I do love a big single thumper.
@@BikerTorque thanks for the reply! That's a shame that no one is interested at this stage. It seems to be doing quite well in the UK and I really do hope they manage to get them imported here. Makes total sense based on the current love for modern classics and retro inspired motorcycles in this country. I think importing them yourselves is a great idea!! Monopolize the market on BSAs haha Well keep pushing away at the importers... you'll break them eventually

Better Value !!! Well there is the Mash Classic 650 ,around £4200.....
Yes it’s a cheaper option, but does it represent better value? I haven’t ridden one so can’t comment on that, but know that RE is a big brand with huge sales globally. Having said that the Mash does look the goods, so would be keen to ride one if they ever come to Australia. Thanks for watching.
@@BikerTorque Ok sorry I did not realise you are in Aus,, Yeah The Mash, its not a bad looking bike ,plus the engine is a copy of the old Honda XR650,, there are a couple downsides,,its French/Chinese..and the name Mash !!! what kindof name is that!!! but then again ,,it is nearly £2000 cheaper then the RE650,,its all swings and roundabouts...G/day

Seriously, I probably should. Rode to work today, had a choice of the R18, a Ducati Desert X we have for review, but decided on the Meteor and enjoyed every second of he ride
The 650 has a chain driven oil pump. One guys bike a year old chain broke and totally destroyed the engine. RE paid for a new motor. No thanks.
One bike out of the 10s of thousands they have sold, sounds like reasonable success rate to me and wouldn't be the first chain driven bike to have this happen.
@@BikerTorque l would not want it. I prefer a gear drive.
