Funny is, I like my collaspible fishing poles, but I have seen a dude recently on a moped with full rods on it. I appreciated him for living his best life!
Great video, I don't know how you feel about firearms but especially if you are out alone I'd highly recommend buying, training, and carrying a pistol for self defense. It's sad that out in the country there's such a huge issue with drugs now. It's gotten really bad in the last 10yrs and you never know what the hell someone mething around is going to do. Stay safe out there!
They make a 50cal pepper ball gun that runs on co2 and is 50 state legal to carry/conceal. Bear spray is also legal. I prefer firearms but in todays political climate its not worth the hassle.
I love that area of Ohio. We've been camping in the reclamation areas a few times and Big Muskie is crazy huge. Until you're there to experience it - no picture does it justice! That's some crazy stuff to happen while you were trying to have a quiet camp night. Great video!
Hey! Pointer, perhaps, on the fire starter. The way that you used it, you are throwing the sparks at a target to get it to light. You are holding the rod and moving the striker towards the target, away from you. If you instead, hold the striker still and drag the rod toward you, the spark stays in one place, at the striker. Really helpful if you are lighting kindling. Might be an easier light. ;)
Looking forward to seeing more "camping" with the toy hauler. I'm 55 and at the age where sleeping on the ground does me no favors. Looking for something similar to your camper but with a walk around queen bed. Happy camping!
Good seeing Manny join you, hadn't seen him in a while and was just wondering how he is doing. I miss Columbus and love seeing the familar sites while watching your videos. We had a farm on London Rd in Orient and I'm always looking for the farm to pop up in one of your videos.
Wow-I’m 66 yrs old and just beginning to start my planning my first solo bike trip. Planning first trip at Natchez Trace Parkway Tn., Ala., and Mississippi. Thank you for all the info on camping gear.
Jess, I am originally from Malta Ohio right across the river from McConnelsville. In high school I worked in the strip mines doing reclamation, planting trees and taking care of the parks. We actually were planting trees within a 1/4 mile of the big Muskie while it was operating this was back in 1973. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 12. I currently live near Syracuse N.Y. If you would ever want to I could show you and Jordan around some of Morgan counties dirt roads and nice twisty paved back roads. I have only 5 motorcycles now, Honda ST1300, XR100, XR200, Bultaco 250 Pursang, and a Penton 175 ( under restoration). I liked your video, the Blue Bell restortant was open when I was a kid, brought back a lot of memories.
I go horse camping by myself and usually in horse camps it's horse people like me out enjoying nature, trails and their horses. But you never know. Always be prepared to defend yourself if necessary. That campground looked awesome. Keep going where you want, just do it safely! Happy Trails!
Firstly, as you probably know. That shot at 16:08 is totally frame-able. That's a beautiful shot I would pay money for! Second, you're bad enough with your Himalayan, but your hubby with his 'zuki is killin' me. I REALLY wanna get a dual sport like Jordan's! I'm... just not there financially right now. But when this Harley is paid off...!
Loving the camping adventure videos.. I have been a bit of a dry spell of the motocamping variety.. Been trying to get some buddies to ride around McConnelsville. So free camping (sans weirdos) sounds like a compelling reason to plan a trip soon.. Thanks!!
Another great video. My friends and I have been camping just a few sites away from yours, since the 80s. "Campsite C" is now part of the Jesse Owens State Park, after the fund that keeps the place around started losing support. Once the state came in they closed the wells, took away the trash cans and no more free wood dropped by the sawmills. However, they have improved the roads somewhat and kept it free (for now). It is still a great place, glad you enjoyed the land of many names, Ohio Power, OH-P, Strip Minds (WV version), AEP Recreation Land.
Yes, a really good camping video, and a little creepy at the end there 🙂. It is so good to see a happy smiling Jess,.. Manny is a pretty gool guy... Big thanks!!!
Thanks Jess I can't see going for one night you like that I would go out and get wood from the woods then I would find worms under a log and use that for bait I liked big muskie thanks for taking me along jess
That does look like a nice area and just north of where I’m used to. I’ll have to check out that bucket I never knew was there! I grew up in OH in Gallia County on the border of Pt. Pleasant, WV. & have been camping at the O.O. McCintyre (sp) Park back in the day. I wonder if there is still camping there. It’s the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains so amazing roads to ride on and wonderful scenery. That is too bad all that stuff had to disturb your trip. Great work on the beautiful filming of the sky and the water reflecting those colors! 😊
Little tip. Pack a bit of steel wool with you. It will get a fire going in the rain while other means will not. Due not having Residency in Costa Rica I cannot have a driver's license. So am limited to bicycles, e-scooters, e-bikes and mopeds. However my 1200 watt RAM E-scooter can do 66 KPH as well as tackle mountains with up to a 30% incline unassisted. Currently having a utility/camp trailer built. I am 76 years old and seems after 72 I lost the ability to mountain bike up the Andes of South America. Some of which were in excess of 16,000 feet.
I love these camping videos. I always have luck fishing with a secret lure I use bought a little Cleo or a spin fly with a 6 in. liter and a half warm on it with a gamma Katsu eight or 10 sized octopus. A hawk works amazing with a bobber. I’ve got all kinds of fish with those and literally a few hundred trout on them over the last 20 years. I love the gadgets that coffee filter is awesome and that camp stove I need to get those for sure.
hold the striker in place near what you are trying to start. pull the ferro rod back towards you. sparks will go where you want them and you wont hit into you candle, kindling or what ever.
Wear a CamelBak and sip from the hose as you ride (I keep mine in a tank bag). Advice I read from The Iron Butt Association, is to never leave a gas station without peeing. If you don't need to pee, you are dehydrated. Chug water until you need to pee. Else, by the next gas station, you will be sick.
This is in my backyard. Been to the Muskie Bucket many times. Also ate at the Blue Belle before. Great pies. What was the restaurant you ate dinner at? Would love to try it sometime. These are my absolute favorite videos of yours over everything you put out.
When I was going to the gym in the 70s, they gave me a diet plan. I could pretty much eat what I wanted, just eat half of what I used to. For breakfast, I had half a cantaloupe and 4 Oz cottage cheese. The biggest thing was to stay away from bread, rolls, and pasta. I could eat hamburgers, but no bun only eat one, could have a se one one an hour later. It worked great.
i really enjoyed the video, i was on the edge of my seat waiting for you to hook your finger while fishing based on the title! The whole video i was like ok this is where it goes wrong! haha deffo full of suspense. thanks for sharing fun video.
hey, i watch a lot of your video's. sorry, not all, but most. neat set up, for camping. you kind of answered one of my biggest fears about camping, will my stuff still be there if i run for food, ice, drink, whatever. so my logical answer is to pick up whatever before i set up for the night. thank you, be safe. oh yeah, i did watch your Sturgis video's. pretty cool, lot of rain.
Bread and pasta are the hardest thingto cut. I get the original grilled chicken sandwich from Cook Out a lot and take off the bun and give it to my dog Penny. The toppings i pretend are a salad and the chicken is my main course. I still haven't found a substitute I like for pasta. Zucchini works ok. Kkep going! 👍
OMG when you were lighting the logs, your transition effect looked like it blew up. Of course that didn't happen because we are watching the video...lol. Congrats on losing 10 pounds,,,,,yayayay. There is never enough coffee as long as your eyes are open..Thanks.
I've car camped there (Sand Hill) with my 2 dogs. You might have better luck fishing along the lakeshore closest to the big water hydrant. You rode your bikes past that on the way to dinner. Also, law enforcement presence is regular and typical--patrolmen drive through several times daily.
A great low carb option is a burger (90/10 or so) and no bun, just wrap it in lettuce. Eat better feel better, after Sturgis, everybody needs a little detox. Looking good and have a great day.
Outside of location, you are certainly a glutton for punishment. 1) That Bike? 2) No booze? 3) Your healthy food options (ick) 4) Manny running it all in your face 🙂 Awesome.
I live in ohio and i just seen a video of the big musky the other day and wanted to go vist. I always just seen a group on Facebook talking about the free camping places in ohio. Now your video of both. Its a sign that i need to go.
Woh... that was scary. Good thing nothing happened. Also, you can plug a battery pack (without the GP battery) to your GP. The GP10, you need to change the firmware to be able to do that. It is easy. There are a few YT vids on how to do that. That's what I did with my GP on my helmet so I wouldn't have to stop and the battery. Also, the mediamod suck up a lot of battery juice. So if you don't really need the mediamod, I would suggest you remove it to film time lapse or b-roll. Good job on your journey! Keep strong, you can do it!
My fishing rod: amzn.to/3sGZHRz

+1 on that! Stay safe
Agree, but make sure you know the laws when you travel between states
They make a 50cal pepper ball gun that runs on co2 and is 50 state legal to carry/conceal. Bear spray is also legal. I prefer firearms but in todays political climate its not worth the hassle.
Nuts!
The Himalayan is so retro cool and practical.
I love that area of Ohio. We've been camping in the reclamation areas a few times and Big Muskie is crazy huge. Until you're there to experience it - no picture does it justice! That's some crazy stuff to happen while you were trying to have a quiet camp night. Great video!
It’s a BEAUTIFUL area!
Great video!!! Great new bike!!
Love this video. Manny was cool too. But don't let a few weirdos ruin your adventures. You guys are awesome. Ride safe.
Hey! Pointer, perhaps, on the fire starter. The way that you used it, you are throwing the sparks at a target to get it to light. Girl.. Love your spirit. Continue on with your endeavors. Been watching your channel from Day 1 and ride every motorcycle that you can. :)
Looking forward to seeing more "camping" with the toy hauler.
I'm 55 and at the age where sleeping on the ground does me no favors. Looking for something similar to your camper but with a walk around queen bed.
Happy camping!
I used to be 55, 15 years ago! 😁
Good seeing Manny join you, hadn't seen him in a while and was just wondering how he is doing. I miss Columbus and love seeing the familar sites while watching your videos. We had a farm on London Rd in Orient and I'm always looking for the farm to pop up in one of your videos.
Hi Jess what a. Awesome scenery love the on shore fishing it’s so cool 😊
Great video Jess, I love riding in that area! Beautiful roads/farms! My husband and I rode up to see “Muskie” last summer…it’s a pretty neat stop. :)
Enjoyed the ride with you... your kind of "puffy" is my kind of "perfect"! Glad the stay worked out well in the end.
Basic rule of motorcycle camping: There has never been a campsite that couldn't be improved with a beer. But, I appreciate your diligence
Love the Gorgoroth tee!
Love the camping with the Himalayan!
Thanks for showing.Looks like a great place to camp ,you got to let me know how the fishing was
It was bad 😂

Have so much fun!!
Glad that you were not alone and Manny was with you.

Good horse camping at Finger Lakes National Forest near Watkins Glen, New York. Doesn't appear as frequented as it must have been in the past.

The Big Bucket was awesome! Great video. I’m glad there were no confrontations with any journalists. ;)
Hi Jess want to thank you for showing mine removable that’s so Awesome ❤😊 Hearts go out to everyone ❤😊
Glad u r taking time to reset and having fun adventures.
Nice to see young people enjoying the outdoors.
Loving the camping adventure videos.. I have been a bit of a dry spell of the motocamping variety.. Been trying to get some buddies to ride around McConnelsville. So free camping (sans weirdos) sounds like a compelling reason to plan a trip soon.. Thanks!!
Big M - the mechanical Megladone.
Dousing Rod - Thought it was for finding water sources.
Beautiful area. Compensation for your " Lovely" winters.
Aways a good idea to have company in them places. Smart lady.
Great video thank you very well done. I have been there same restaurant. Went to the big musky.
Glad you enjoyed it
Another great video.

Thanks for the video jess im glad you're safe and nothing happened take care and i can't wait for the next video
Jess says “I’m doin a 30 day reset after Sturgis”😂 That is understandable!😊❤🍺🍺🍺
What was your luggage bag? Helpful hint. Fishing with bobber, you need live bait, night crawlers or minnows. Suggest the night crawlers best.
What's the facination with "journaling" in the middle of the forest like that??😂😂😅
Thanks Jess I can't see going for one night you like that I would go out and get wood from the woods then I would find worms under a log and use that for bait I liked big muskie thanks for taking me along jess

The area you are in makes me think of my good old home area of Greene County, IN. Strip mines turned to rec areas. and dope.
working in the O&G industry I've traveled all that area. 78 is an awesome ride/drive all the way down to the river!
Been working there South of Cumberland for a few months.
Very nice country.
You are doing a great job, your videos are very interesting. Thanks ❤️🔥🔥👌😎
Great trip
What's a yellow jackets nest? Loving your journals from the uk

Hi Jess from the U.K. I was wondering about the welsh community in Ohio and was wondering how large it is and if it was Quaker based. Ride safe 🙂
I found your video enjoyable and pleasant to watch. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video, Jess. Nobody wants to deal with druggies when camping. Happy Labor Day to you and Jordon.
Handy tip: hold the steel steel and pull the ferro rod & things won't get knocked over. Love the camping videos
Could you tell us the date that your video is made.
no hill hiking too bad🤔 they mine with that bucket the tractor operates the bucket is huge too.
I love these camping videos. Another great video
Manny had bread AND a beer!!! 😂😂😂
You should come to Maine for a ride next year. There's a lot of AMAZING riding and food here. AND FISHING!!!
Nice video keep up the good work Jess
hold the striker in place near what you are trying to start. pull the ferro rod back towards you. sparks will go where you want them and you wont hit into you candle, kindling or what ever.
I love the Southeast Ohio area - awesome roads for any motorcycle in the area!
What was that coffee pack you were using. I need some of those.
Love that area !!
Sooo awesome beautiful video lovet

Good advise. Plus it could be a while before you can find the next rest stop. Go when you can! 👍
always enjoy your camping videos.
"Big Muskie" was the walking, drag line, bucket, shovel excavator.

U r so lucky to be born there …. I’d love to ride sometime in the future in USA
Camping is ok, always a good pillow and a good mattress and you be fine, but don't underestimate a good pillow
Good video, glad you weren’t alone on this one.

Hmmmmmm.....well maybe I'll rethink camping at that campground. :) But seriously, good video.
I hate being caught "journaling"
😂😂😂
Especially when it's a real good "entry".
In fairness, some places are bit hard to find a solitude spot for "journaling"
When inspiration calls you must “journal”
😅😅😅😂
I did a 4 year sobriety for my reset, don't plan on doing that again lol, granted I don't drink anything like I did before that.
Aside from the people that looked like fun! Congratulations on the 10# also. Be safe out there!
OMG when you were lighting the logs, your transition effect looked like it blew up. Of course that didn't happen because we are watching the video...lol. Congrats on losing 10 pounds,,,,,yayayay. There is never enough coffee as long as your eyes are open..Thanks.

Where/What was the restaurant? Beautiful view!
How far was the campground from the Blue Bell Restaurant
Very enjoyable vlog.
The area looks nice! Sad people always find a way to ruin places for anyone else whilst their doing "their" thing.
A great low carb option is a burger (90/10 or so) and no bun, just wrap it in lettuce. Eat better feel better, after Sturgis, everybody needs a little detox. Looking good and have a great day.
I like how you camp.... Easting at restaurants, no hiking... just my style
Whenever I’m not having any luck with fishing I put on a senko. If there’s any fish in the vicinity they usually hit it.
Hi Jess I am new to your Channel I am from Canada ont a little place called Bethany 😊
Fish love marshmallows. I know I had to laugh first time I saw it.
All right, I might spare 1 marshmellow to try fishing with it, ok maybe 2! 🙂
The Himalayan is becoming so popular. Do you take it o the interstate?
Beatifullll ❤❤

1) That Bike?
2) No booze?

Have you checked out the GoPro Volta? Has helped with my battery issues.
Dig that crazy bucket. Or is it that crazy bucket digs.
