That last story was not about glorifying violence and I'm sorry that the OP might feel that way. It was about an adult couple seeing something they knew was wrong and doing the right thing to help prevent it. They held the assailant and they called the cops.

About the step-parent: I had a step-mother whom I had known most of my life (10 years old). My 2 brothers and I were in their bed waiting for them when they had finished their wedding celebration with friends. They were surprised because we had accepted their marriage so readily. If I were in Garths shoes. Id immediately tell Karen after refusing to hire new people, i'd only do 1/3 of the workload unless im given a raise to match the tripled workload.
Everything after that is blatant workplace harassment which id turn and make it hell for Karen in return. Trying to work on sending out emails, oh dear it looks like internet is cutting out in her office, ill put in the work order to get it fixed... in 3 days.
I have seen the last story before, but it is worth hearing again. It wouldn't have mattered if op had said that the guy was her stepfather.
