In Louisiana where I live people don't trespass on private property, not if they value their safety.

    • @neock
      @neock 9 місяців тому +5

this is how it should be. trespassers should given a good example on why not to trespass. once is one thing. but when told to stay off the property... then thats on them if they come back, and the consequences should reflect thier foolishness. these days defending your property even in a stand your ground state is hard enough without being treated like a criminal

Yep I don't have a problem with trespassers any more they learned not to and passed the word along
No need to call the police eather I handled things my way which isn't as gentle as the way the police would

I’ve heard many excuses given because of being a single mother, but not being able to pick up after their dog is a new one. Ridiculous.

A good friend of mine (my high school coach) lives in an upper middle class development in NJ. They too had a problem dog (actually problem owners) whose dog constantly pooped on everyone`s lawn. After several weeks, my friend decided to start a petition to present to the animal control about the dog. He collected several signatures and approached a guy who lived next to the dog owners but he did not sign the petition. He then showed my friend a 2 x 2 ft piece of plywood that was behind a bush next to his house and told him to bring the poop over each day and deposit it on the plywood (as a few other neighbors were doing) Told my friend that every night around midnight, he scooped up the pile of poop with a long handed shovel and flipped it into the inground swimming pool of the dog owners. When the kids would come out of the house, one would yell, "Mom, the dog shit in the pool again!" In a few weeks, the dog had been given to a relative and no longer pooped everywhere LOL

What is it with some people’s minds that because the previous owner gave permission they still think it stands when the property now belongs to someone else. You get it with people using driveways because the last owner said yes. Its like you wouldn’t expect to buy a car of someone and still let that sellers family member use it as they had permission too.

In a lot of cases that's actually a lie because they figured what are the odds we know where the previous owners moved to. so they figured you'll have a hard time proving the previous owners didn't allow it. not that it matters in my case. a shotgun and a promise they'll be living their retirement eternity in the farm right next to me will do the trick
I do like your example :) never thought of it

They had no right to the cabin. Verbal permission is not legal in court.

The agreement with the previous owner has nothing to do with the new owner.

Even if the previous owner had given them writen permission, it would still need to be discussed in the sale and the new owner would still have the right to end the agreement.

As to the last story that person was in a power trip. Being that cranky can cost her a job.

If I showed up to my property with cars filled the driveway the fire department would have to be called.

"the laws on your side" if you have enough money or contacts. most of the time, these reports are eather ignored, handled baddly, or your told "oh well. this is a civil matter"

First story: a verbal agreement ain't worth the paper it's written on.

A verbal contract IS worth the paper it's written on, which is nothing.

But it becomes null and void as soon as the old owners sell the place.

I like the first story. .
Dude turns up at his newly purchased house to find a party going on. .
Couple claim they have the right. . .
*AND **_WOW_** would you look at THAT!!* . . I just HAPPEN to carry the DEED to my property with me. . Wherever I go. . Doesn't EVERYBODY carry the deed to their house in their glove compartment?
I'm calling TOTAL B.S. on this story!
And a 'verbal' agreement by a PREVIOUS owner isn't worth the paper it's written on

As to the first story as soon as the a holes violated the restraining order file a complaint. As to the second story good ridance to the a hole. As to the third story that person should have been fired. She left herself and the company wide open to a sexual harassment law suit.

It doesn’t matter if the old owners gave the entitled couple permission beforehand, op is the new owner which means op is the one to decide whether someone is allowed on op’s land or not. Plus I never believe people when they say “we had permission from the previous owners” because that is usually an out right lie and just entitled people trying to pathetically manipulate other people.

These are all OLD OLD OLD redit stories, but with the dog poop story I had the same issue a few years back and my landlord did next to nothing even with video's and photo's after a while I found out I could inform the local council dog warden (UK thing) so I did they came out took my pics and videos, I later found out they set up a hidden trap cam looking at one of the main places his dog pooped, The warning he got saying he would be fined did nothing week later i heard on the local gossip he had gotten 3 fines by mail each for £1000 pounds for each offense they had caught after the official warning letter.... Shortly after that he no longer had a dog....I know it sounds nasty but I was having his dog poop right outside my door so when i opened the door it smeared poop all over the bottom of my door and the step. and I felt after 3 years of him being told by about 20 people to clean up after his dog it was ok to do
