Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.

10. Million voices (one voice too many)
9. Beautiful mess (neither beautiful nor messy enough)
8. Sound of silence (meh just.... didn't do much for me)
7. Fuego (not enough Spanish too Beyoncesque)
6. Calm after the storm (works for me)
5. Soldi (good for what it is though not my thing)
4. Voila (not sure how well it worked for the live audience, did the cameraman get in the way? - but very good on tv)
3. Spaceman (it's not hard UK just send something that's not whiny bullcrap and you'll do fine)
2. Rim tim tagi dim (insanely catchy and first semi performance was amazing)
1. Cha cha cha (reinvented Eurovision, making crowd participation a vital part of the performance CHACHACHA!!!!!)

This video made me realize that *if the runner-ups had won instead of the winners since 2016:*
*1.* we would have 4 countries achieving *their first ever victory:* 🇦🇺🇧🇬🇨🇾🇭🇷
*2.* we would have 3 consecutive *big 5* winners: 2019-22
Croatia, UK and Finland are my top three. I remember Sam actually in first place during the jury voting, and Graham Norton saying "If you've just tuned in, I want to assure you that you are NOT DREAMING. It's real. We are in the lead." in a tone of happy disbelief which I think we were all feeling that night. We got so used to assuming we would come second last or last, or just be roundly humiliated that Sam was like a miracle moment for us. Haha. Anyway, would love to see you do a Tope Ten of songs that came last 2014-2024!
I feel like the "best runner up" question is pretty loaded. because it's not only a question of what's the best song, but you're also looking at which song would be a better winner.
In this case, "Soldi" would be the best one over the past ten years, because of what it offered to the table. A thoughtful story, in a modern package, and would've opened doors for more urban styles. (Do you think that Tuta Gold would've had a chance to win Eurovision had it won Sanremo?)
But "Voila" is the best song amongst these. It's so sincere and powerful, and I agree with everything you said here (I still remember how you had your doubts when it first debuted in the French NF, haha!). "Zitti e Buoni" will always be a deserved winner, but Barbara has won my heart.
Imo Tutta Gold would not resonate in Europe that much. Similar fate to Angelina Mango.

1. Soldi (for me, 100 times better than Arcade!)
2. Fuego (the real winner of that year, thats it!)
3. Sound of silence (yes, very very good, bravo!)
4. Rim tim tagi dim (yes, much better than Finland 👍👍)
5. Spaceman (not a hit but he was singing ok, thats it)
6. Million voices (strong performance, song is good, thats it)
7. Cha cha cha (not a fan, the croatian is better to me, thats it)

9. Voila (Poor execution, quite bad song, the singer exaggerates everything, a song for a museum, not the modern world.👎)
