You can rush lunar with Woodie without mapping the whole world and starting from day 1:gather 15 seeds and Monster meats(you can do with less but 15 will guarantee in case of bad spawns),go around gathering enough materials to craft your backpack, log suit, shovel and think tank. The trick is,the lunar island will always be connected to the main land 100% of the time by shallow ocean (oceans with flat lines _ instead of chevron lines V)so all you need to do is go around the shallow ocean mapping the outer world. If you always follow the shallows you will always find the lunar island even if the spawn is somewhat weird.Sometimes you will get false positives of shallows that go away from the mainland into a sea stack, but you just need to keep going around. A bonus:you will always be somewhat insane by the time you get there. Ive tested this method in over 20 worlds by now and it always work(love going to random servers and helping people by bringing them lunar resources).
Now for the tips:the lunar island almost always spawn 1-3 glass axes surrounded by a square of trees,so look out for those. A single gunpowder will open 10 stonefruits from a stack,so if you put a ton of 10 stacks around a single gunpowder you can open hundreds of them in an instant. Best use ive found for anenemies is to weaken/kill mctusk and its hound by setting them before the first winter. This I have not tried, but saw someone put anenemies around an area to prevent bird spawns, put a catapult in the center and glommer in the edge.Fake attack glommer so the catapult attacks him (the catapult cant kill him) and use birds of the world to force all the birds to spawn on top of glommer. If the lunar spiders are bothering you, lure them near a saladmander and make the spike aoe hit them to make them aggro the spiders.
@@theadtheogrekiller5629 sadly no,the slime only opens one at a time. You could still open a bunch by making 1 stacks around but for that better use a pickaxe.
I have Glommer come with me each time I go to the Lunar Islands to combat the enlightenment. That may seem counter intuitive with the sanity aura Glommer give off, but the Glommer's goop is great for enlightenment, not only does it give you 50 health, it drops your sanity (and in turn, your enlightenment) by a ton. Once I'm ready to get off the islands, I just stand next to a fussure and run to my boat to get my sanity up before I leave.
I dont think its a good idea to use this as a permanent cure for enlightenment, as the lunar island can't feed wes until he brings things there, and if he constantly goes insane, he's likely to get killed on the boat.

With Wurt I use blue mushrooms, due to cactus giving sanity it’s not an issue (not that being insane is difficult to begin with, practice kiting the shadows and you’ll be golden) On another note to why wormwood works well in caves, guano from bats (and there are a LOT of bats) give 2 health pop, when exploring I typically never have to dip into my main healing sources if I’m lucky with the bat spawns. I’m also not a very good player when it comes to fighting and guano is a life saver.
Woodie's surprisingly amazing for rushing the lunar island even before the first full moon. He can find the island and access it easily with his goose form, clear the spiders with his moose form and destroy all the boulders and moon glasses, dig up stone fruit bushes and chop trees with his beaver form to get blossoms, wood and moths. Moths can be eaten for health since he loses 20 health each time he transforms, blossoms can be used to get more moon shards from the first full moon, and since his were form makes him insane, he actually doesn't have any problems with gestalts at all. After all that, it gets a few returns to bring back tons of glass cutters, rocks and minerals, wood and all the good stuff from the island, and that is easy as well with the goose form.

just found a lunar island right next to spawn, is this rare or? I just had to craft a boat to step across and I was already on the island, I've never had this happen before lol
EVERYONE GETS THIS WRONG. The stone fruit planted from the seedling DO NEED FERTILIZING. We got a ton of them on my server, nothing but seedling plants at my base, and they do require fertilizing, but it is far less often than other plants that we have transplanted. Disease is disabled on our server, so I cannot speak on if they get blighted or not.
This has never happened to me with any sprouted stone fruit. Not one. The only time I see those wither is during the Summer. You may be experiencing it but I'd call it an unintended bug that for me has been impossible to duplicate. I've sat reading countless Wicker books to grow the sprouted bushes for inexcusably long amounts of time and have never seen one of these wither due to lack of fertilizer.
Don't know what the nature of the glitch is then, because the entire crop does it. It's definitely not summer wilt, they have a dedicated fire extinguisher that keeps them fresh. Might have to do with disease being turned off for all I know, but this has happened on every world I go to, the seedlings do need fertilizing. Anyone's guess what does or doesn't trigger it.
Well, I think that is a bit obvious, as if that was not the case, they would be really overpowered. Now, they are kinda like berry bushes, which too require fertilization after a while.
That is really interesting. I am curious if their mechanics have changed in recent updates. I'll definitely do more testing and maybe check out the prefab files. If that info is wrong I promise I will issue a correction.

i came up with a few, including the returning bosses from shipwrecked: swimming horrers: same health as crawling horrers: essentaly just the crawling horrers of the ocean. drops 1 nightmare fuel. sea tentacle: no dmg, 500 health, always wet, grabs onto your boat and starts hurting it and holding it in place till killed, like crab kings claws. same loot as lang tentacles. kelp monster: 200 hp 20 dmg. spawns when picking kelp at a 1/10 rate drops 3 to 4 kelp and 10 percent chance to drop bull kelp stalk. can go on land. sealnado: 10000 health, 60 damage: spawns in a set location in a setpiece every 20 days: can pull your boat in and hurt you with a spin attack. drops 6 seal skin, 2 meat. seal skin can make the origanal shipwrecked boat, however it takes 12 skin to make it, and when near boat you can craft the shipwrecked attachments with silk and other stuff. quacken: health 6000, damage 30, spawns when a player catches a fish at a 5 percent chance, respawns in 20 days. tentacals can go through boat and cause leaks, and heald can shook the ink skittersquids do at the player. drops quaken beak, 10 raw fish. quacken beak can be used in a number of recipies for both boat types, shipwrecked and together boats. it makes quackering ram and quacken cannon for the shipwrecked boat, and a version of the quacken cannon and an auto boat repairer for together boats. finally, tiger shark, 6000 hp, 50 dmg, spawns in a shark den found on the water. can have her young hold down your boat and pull it to sea stacks till they are killed, summons young when near shark den. drops 1 tiger shark eye, 20 big meats. young drop tiger shark gills, both used in making new attachments like quacken. for shipwrecked boat, boat lantern and for together boat, a spotlight that looks out on the water. can also make the super spyglass from shipwrecked.
just found a lunar island right next to spawn, is this rare or? I just had to craft a boat to step across and I was already on the island, I've never had this happen before lol
What is that powder cake on a plate at 5:15? New recipe?
That's powdercake seasoned by Warly with honey crystals.
@@JazzysGames Thanks! too bad it's a warly recipe haha!
Quick question: do they wither after a harvest or do you just walk over to discover them withered?
Why is it called stoneFRUIT if its a vegetable? why not stonevegetable?
Probably same reason avocado is considered a vegetable. Because Klei.
So Maxwell will be losing enlightenment on the island, right?
Nope! Max is awful on lunar.
Uhhhh jazzy the world's gen is messing with me. when mapping t found 2 horseshoe land loop with all the condition is match to your description :(
But dragon fly does not want stone fruit 2:26
Do the sprouted stone fruit bushes get diseased?

I mean. As far as "cannon" is concerned. The Lunar Island is already confirmed to have fallen off of the moon itself.
Yeah another viewer pointed that out too. I totally forgot about the ToT trailer.
you want anenomies also
Wow
My lunar island is 2 tiles apart from the main land, anyone else?
wickerbottom still op then!? xD
I don't think a day has passed without her being overpowered.
If you look at the wurt update, she's intentionally designed to play nice with everyone.
1:17 no, the lunar island came from the moon :P

"Better creators then I have done-" No... please... the only ACTIVE youtuber that really stands out is beard, and as good as he is about presenting information, HIS NEED TO NARRATE AND GIVE THE SAME PUNS IN ALL HIS VIDEOS IS ABSOLUTELY ANNOYING. Not to mention he often rehashes his content to put in lesser unneeded informative videos
Beard doesn't exactly try and teach
He just tries to be the UA-cam version of a Wikipedia
@@colorsndread7922 Good way to put it honestly. Most of the stuff people ask for that he puts out i end up thinking "you guys too lazy to just look that up?" Like sleep mechanic ffs
@@courierz9451 even putting aside the fact that Beard is a known content thief (the primary reason why none of the high-level creators associate with him), he simply regurgitates information from the wiki without checking the facts, sometimes leading him to post videos containing misleading or outright false information. I'd hardly say that matches the definition of a "good" content creator.
Quantity < Quality. Beard making fancy-looking base setups using the console and Fix For Too Many Items mod does not in any way make up for his use of unreliable wiki info. And again, content thievery.
The creators I had in mind were from James Bucket, Demon Rebuilt, and Freddo Films. All their Turn of Tides video guides were solid.
Ah yes the worst part of the game
