  • Welcome!
This video is my second time listening and reacting to Dimash Kudaibergen. A heap of you have been requesting a new Dimash react so here are!
React starts at 2:08 if you don't care for the intro :)
I tried not to pause too much in this version as that was my biggest piece of feedback in the last Dimash video. Regardless I was able to go back and delve a little further into the stylistic and technical aspects of his performance!
Three Vocal Textures on the Same Melody 5:16
    Traditional Vocalisations 10:55 + 14:04
    The Super Long Phrase + Riff 10:08 + 12:20

Autumn Strong is a very emotive song...I would opt for the Gloria Wu version though as Hunan can be aggressive with blocks. Gloria drops the pitch just a bit, but includes the back story to the song, which greatly enhances the listening experience.

If you want a more modern pop type... try Screaming. He mixes some world styles in there too but it's definitely geared more to the pop crowd. I prefer the Idol hits version, but the official MV is great too.

I really hate when people in the comments tell reactors and coaches not to pause to react. The whole point is for them to react to what they are seeing and hearing. I have no interest in sitting and watching someone sitting and watching a video. If I want to hear the song uninterrupted, I'll go to dimash's channel.
Julia, please just pause as many times as you need to in order to say what you want to say. That's what I'm here for. A reaction and/or analysis.

There is a lot of back story to this performance. He sang with a very popular Russian group called A-Studio, this song had been sung before by the vocalist of the group who passed away some years back. Apparently the melismatic folk style singing is actually a Kazakh funereal or memorial song that was inserted in memory of this artist, and showed great respect by Dimash to him. Dimash is very keen to use these folk music melismas, modal and chromatic techniques from Asia Minor and Arabic music. See his performances of Hello, Know, Samaltau and others.. Thanks for a very interesting reaction..

    • @KL-qy4ye

Brian, A-Studio is a Kazakh group originally from Almaty who are now based in Russia. Dimash speaks Kazakh to the pianist as well as Russian to the audience at the end.

      @krujevo 4 роки тому +7

that's right =) just as Dimash works in China and Russia, and arranges concerts in different countries, so A-Studio has been working in Russia for a long time. They still remain Kazakhs, with their strong roots and culture. Russians understand this, we have a lot of nationalities here. We know them, distinguish them, and roughly understand how a person is affected by their homeland and culture.

He swims underwater the length of a pool for exercise and to improve his breath control. If you notice on his 23 sec note there was no big intake of air before or after. A professional singer tried 10 times in the recording studio to do the same run, but he failed and said to this in a Live concert is almost impossible. If you want to hear Dimash stripped back, try "Samaltau" the Live Stream version. Dimash was supposed to appear at the Tokyo Jazz Festival, but Live Streamed this and S.O.S. I think most of the people watching this react video have already seen/heard Dimash singing this song before so are watching this video to get your reaction and expert/informed opinion so you pausing the video to say something is not a problem and if you pause it to comment at an inappropriate part of the song then you can always rewind it a few seconds when restarting, the first part of this video where you don't pause or comment is still good to watch because your facial expressions are just beautiful, there are a lot of reaction videos to Dimash on UA-cam and for me one of the best things is, it doesn't matter whether the reactor is and average person or has some expertise in singing, they are all impressed! There is a video on UA-cam of him rehearing this song (I'm guessing the day before this performance) and it's amazing how close to this version it is, especially since they are still building the stage and there are people walking past him as he's singing, in fact some people have argued that because the rehearsal version is so close to the performance version that he is just lip syncing!

  • @zemanoshtronz

The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique (traditional cazaq singing). Is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist? Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than fifteen(15) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. Hello.....I love your analysis on his singing performance and you’re so great speaking with your music knowledge.DIMASH is an artist that should never be missed. He is the BEST with a phenomenal ability.

I love Screaming, but I still prefer the original one, where he does the staccato counterpoint at the end. The violence of the other one is just not what I look for, from Dimash.

Julia, loved it. Always learn something new.
But, and this is a big BUT....please dont give in to these Dimash-Nazis. There are not that many of them but they make such
a big noise and intimidates the Reactor. The vast majority of us are just happy to to see you experience Dimash.
So, this is your channel. Stop whenever you want to, do YOUR thing the way you want to.
And when you read the comments, and you find a nasty one, just skip it. Don't even read it.
The viewer who does not enjoy your style of reacting must leave. Honestly, Im sick of these Nazis behaving as if they own Dimash.... They have driven more than one reactor away already because of their nastiness.
My girl, you look like a strong one... Do your thing and middle-finger the nasties. Please, I'm serious.
We wany you to stay and continue with your Dimash journey -YOUR way!!!!
    Regards from Thailand.

Thanks for the support :) I totally see where you're coming from so I thought I'd give a bit more of a response. Ultimately, I don't mind trying new things and taking on feedback but you best believe I'll only do things how I want to! There's always room to improve and grow so I want to read things and weigh up if it is helpful or not. Sometimes the most helpful insights can come from the most brutal feedback. Critique isn't inherently bad (I certainly dish out a lot of 'critique' in my job and have to handle a lot of it back as a performer) but there is a balance there for sure! Thanks again for your support, I'm so glad you're enjoying and learning something from my videos!

I love all his Kazakh songs. That’s when he shines brightest, to me anyway. His performance of ‘Samal Tau’ in his studio for the Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020 is astounding and the traditional instrumentalists are phenomenal, too. Adai+Daididau is also spectacular. Gloria Wu’s channel has the backstory and translations to Daididau. I absolutely love the Kazakh heavy rock/folk song, ‘Durdaraz’ from Arnau tour, New York concert. ‘Lay Down’ is an under appreciated pop/rock song. It’ll give you a good idea of a purely contemporary song. Love your reactions! Hi from Tasmania 👋👋👋🦘🦘🦘🦘

So far you're the only reactor i've seen who recognised that "world music" technique. I can't stop listening to this man. So impressed.

I'm really glad you played range down. The poor man keeps begging people not to focus on it, but nobody listens. As far as emotional connection, he gets totally immersed doesn't matter what he sings. You can see it at concerts when he finishes a song. It's as if he takes a moment to snap out of a trance. Happens even when he sings a pop song

What a great reaction and commentary! For great emotional expression, my very favorite is The Meaning of Eternity (no subtitles on the original video but you can find the translation on Instagram at Dimash Translations). Brings tears to my eyes every time. Very short. It was a theme song in a musical play. Other examples of great expression are: Give Me Love; Adagio; Love Is Like A Dream, for starters. Thank you!🌷🌷🌷🌷🥰👍

More emotional and strip back song definitely you should react to love is like a dream. It's more laid back strat from very low (Vocal Fry) but near the End he will be changed into God of Soprano and lovely balanced Mix sound and ending last note a very long breath. Dimash is the best vocalist in the world! You've been as we say, Dimashified!! Welcome to the family of Dimash' #Dears🌹💋♥️❣️🤗 You have a long journey ahead of you and it's an amazing ride!!! Can't wait to see you when he does the famous D8 whistle note for 5seconds!! Insane 😱 You should really watch him and he super vocal boys do their Queen Medley... it's amazing!! And he also does a cover of Hello by Lionel Richie that will knock your socks off, as well as Queen's love of my life, even covered Uptown Funk!! His latest piece for a movie called Creators-the past, the song is called Across Endless Dimensions is brilliant as hell as is everything else he does, but even if he sings the same songs he'll always change it to surprise you!! His dream is to be a pop star in America and the world and bring his culture to America and the world too... he's doing an amazing job at it too!!! He did play a concert in New York last December and he was so very happy he felt like he was fulfilling his dream❣️🌹🌹🌹
