- VIDEO DESCRIPTION This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this adorable, sweet spring country image of “DEER AND BUTTERFLY”. You'll learn basic painting tips and techniques that will have you painting a realistic wildlife landscape painting of a spring meadow filled with blooming wild white daisies, a precious fawn and stunning monarch butterfly. The curiosity of the young deer and the bold flying insect will capture the viewers attention with the sunshine frenched field and long woodland grass set deep in the quiet forest. With the large doe eyes and beautiful young Bambi spots, this cute fawn will not only bring you joy to look at, but you will also learn some valuable painting techniques. This painting lesson will teach you how to create realistic looking dimension with properly placed highlights and shadows and how to layer fur to give a textured appearance. It will provide you with a solid learning experience and maybe a tender story will emerge along the way. You’ll learn how to draw a simple outline of the animal face and body that will provide a good base to start from with structure and form. You’ll learn to paint atmospheric dimension in the out of focus sky and distant land with the colors blending and transitioning into one another. You’ll also learn how to blend colors directly on the canvas and how to layer different tones of the same color for realistic visual effects. This captivating creation may have you wanting to paint an entire family of little ones running, jumping or playing in the field of flowers, but I suggest you start with just one…lol! Using only 3 brushes and 7 colors we'll create this innocent and beautiful piece of art that will bring joy to any décor. So, let’s get painting and let's get sipping!

This is the way I want to learn to paint. You give very explicit instructions for your every stroke. As a newbie, this is very important to me. Thank you, Michelle.
Glad it was helpful!
I completely agree with you. Michelle is truly a gifted instructor; as well as, a talented painter. She removes the intimidation factor and breaks it down in such an easy way.
Öööööööö
The eyes on the deer are so beautiful! 💜
Thank you!
I love how you break everything into small pieces! Not long ago I would have looked at this one and said that’s too difficult, but I have done 17 paintings with you and they have all turned out pretty good. So that gave me confidence to do this one and I’m very pleased with the finished product. Thank you, Michelle!
Wow, thank you for painting along with me 17 times! Maybe you'll share some of your work with me on Facebook some day! I would love to see them!
So realistic and cute. The deer reminds me of Bambi.
Me too! Bambi is too cute!
Thank you for posting your video, I’m not good at painting, I’m just learning, but I have mastered the sipping steps😜
That's a start! Keep on painting!
I came back to tell you that you saved my painting and my confidence! I was working on a fawn very different from yours, and after many layers and tries, I could not get the colors or values right. Your tutorial allowed me to see where I was "off" and correct it. I wish you could see how absolutely real (and beautiful) it looks! Thank you so much!
Hi, I would love to see your painting! People share their paintings with me in my public Facebook page "Michelle the Painter" or my private Facebook group "Michelle's Painting Group". Hope to see you there!
Same here! I was ready to trash mine. I took a deep breath. Started the tutorial over. Thank you michelle!

My first painting attempt was the snowman at the door you did. And now I just finished this one with the fawn today. Thank you! With your expert guidance my family is giving me all kinds of compliments on my paintings!🤗
Great job!
Love this sweet Baby deer! After painting with you for a couple of years now, I am finally ready to tackle painting this one. Even though I have been painting in various mediums for 40 plus years, I have learned so much from you! I am a much better artist because of your teachings and the fact that I stop a video and catch up or go back and review a previous step has allowed me to grow in my art. So THANK YOU! Thank you. Thank you! 💜💖💝
That's wonderful! I am happy to hear that! Thank you!
Love this one!!! I can't wait to try it! I always look forward to seeing what you come up with. Thank you for these tutorials you are such a blessing to me.

Wow! Adorably Amazing! Love all three of the elements in this composition!! ❤🎨
Thank you so much!
This is the third or fourth one of your tutorials that I've seen just in the past few days, and let me tell you this:
The way you break things down, and explain them in such a concise manner, with each individual step by step, is seriously THE BEST way to teach acrylic painting I have EVER seen in video format.
I mean, I'm an intermediate level painter myself, but watching your videos, I've learned so much in such a short time. Eventually, I'll get around to doing a paint along (probably the dandelion or mushroom paintings you've done, or perhaps even this one)... but even if I didn't choose to replicate one of your works, I've learned so much about acrylic painting in general from your lessons.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTENT.
Seriously, it's actually more in depth than a Bob Ross video, and I absolutely adore Bob Ross. I guess you're the Bob Ross of acrylics, lol.
Thank you! I wouldn't mind being the Bob Ross of acrylic! I'm glad you are having fun and learning, especially as an intermediate artist! Keep on painting!

thanks Michelle, thats a wonderful tutorial...given me the courage to have a go...hi from UK
It is very appreciated the extra time you took to explain your details!💕 I will be adding this to my list of nature paintings to be done of yours. The fox is getting a little lonely with the owl looking down at him. 🤗🤗😻😻
Well we wouldn't want anyone to get lonely. I think the fox would enjoy the company of a deer! Thanks!
OMG Michele!, How adorable 😍. You continue to amaze me 🥰
Thank you so much 😀
I loved this tutorial, as always well presented, and well explained. I have tried to paint this deer, but struggled with the shape of the head.so as Michelle says, I took a break then, reshaped the head, and repainted some of the background. . It's very easy to just give up, but I'm learning if you think you have ruined it, what's the worse you can do by trying to correct it xx
Just beautiful!!!!
Thank you so much!

You never cease to amaze me. I concentrate on what you say so intently that it scared me when 'the wiggle' came on. I love what you do and say. Thank you so very- very much for sharing with us.
Sorry, the camera man makes me wiggle it every time I accidentally say it!
