Just listened to this song, while sitting in my dad's truck, beside his grave, allowing myself to cry, "though I try to be strong". Last month marked 4yrs since he's been gone. Thank you. It's a song I didn't know I'd need.
I lost my husband of 43 years, nearly 11 years ago. I'd crank this song, and You Should Be Here, and cry my eyes out while driving his truck. I smile now. Thanks for those memories.
@tammywhite1721 I'm sorry to hear that Tammy. I lost a brother to cancer many long years ago. That pain in your heart never goes away. Hugs, Paulette.
10 years ago, I lost my son. Three and 1/2 years of having cancer. I will never be the same. We bought him a car of his choice-his reward of getting into pharmacy school-that car was his pride and joy. He finished school-got his doctorate -worked for six months-and then diagnosed with cancer. We were by his side every step of the way until the end. I drove his car from from 2010 to now. Still cannot let the car go. Thank you Lee for giving the words to my feelings.
Just lost my dad today, it might not be a truck. But I drive your Impala Dad. Semper Fi Marine. I love you forever. You are and will always be my Hero. Thank you for never giving up on me.
I lost my youngest son (27 years old) in 2017. I searched for his first truck so I could drive it to be closer to him each time I drive it. Dad’s aren’t supposed to bury their children. It’s backwards. I drive his truck to deal with the pain some days, and to recall the love on others. Rest in peace Caleb Matthew. ❤
Your son misses you just as much you miss him I know he is happy seeing you grown and live life to the fullest god has wrapped his arms around your son and brung him home❤️ may you dine peace and happiness as he would want you too fly high to your beautiful son
I lost my dad on march 3rd of this year and he was only 59 years old it hurts like hell I’ve made myself sick literally I’ve been so tore up over it because I just want to see him and hug him and be able to talk to him I feel like he left me so soon. Fk it’s hard man.
I lost my dad 9 years ago and have his old 79 f150 he helped me restore. Still hurts to this day. What I wouldn't give to see him and get to talk to him again. Mine passed away at 63 and it sucks. Prayers to you
This song really hits the gut. I drive my son's truck, complete with dog tags. I wear his army jacket. I understand that Lee wrote this song for his brother. It's a hard pill to swallow.
Im sorry for your tragic loss, a parent should never suffer outliving their child.. I have lost everyone but my mom now but I have two wonderful children and I can’t even imagine them passing in my lifetime.. 😢
Dad passed away, and riding his bike home, this song popped in my head....had to pull over and gather myself. He wasn't a military guy, and I know its not a truck, but this song hits HARD now
I lost my dad a year ago...this song hits so close. He was a purple heart, Vietnam Veteran, coal miner, farmer...he left his vintage 1956 Chevrolet truck and his old F150 along with 120 acres and a house to my 2 siblings and I. We all use the farm truck to haul everything. When I get in that truck see everything that he left in there, smell the smells and feel him next to me. What a song.
God bless his beautiful soul. May he rest in peace. May perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the Mercy of God rest in peace, Amen. God bless and comfort you all and all who love him, Amen.
I dont see how some people can be so ignorant and rude about our troops dying. I lost my brother overseas when I was 15 years old. Now I am driving his truck because its all I have left of him. So please have some respect. Fly High Michael. love you brother.
+Noah Geddings aww im sorry, i know how it is to loose someone your love even if ur mom and an old bf break up and he was really close i know how u fell im sooooo sorry.
+Noah Geddings A brother that made a Military Career...He Loved his Trucks lol but taught me to expect the unexpected, respect the disrespected, agree to disagree then shift into 3rd gear and Thank the Thankless, Pardon the Pardonless and Hope for the Hopeless my Friend. I Miss Him Like Crazy yet I know how to drive his truck :)
+word to your mother yeah we would be her but thats thanks to the men and women serving our country there not weak there the strongest out of every body they lay there life on the line to keep us safe from terrorists so dont say the weak wouldnt be here because people that didnt service our country are the weak ones but thanks to the strong ones we are here thats why i love the military they just keep doing what there doing and itll be OK for the weak ones
A soldier I served in Iraq with was killed in Afghanistan. I received word from my old platoon sergeant about it. I went to the class vi, military liquor stores, to get something to take the edge off. I had forgotten his house was next door. I seen his box body and just lost it. Almost 20 years late o cry Everytime I hear this. Strachota, you’ll always be remembered
My son, 11, didn’t have a truck when he died. However, this song is the closest any song has ever come to describe what it feels like. He’s been gone 2 years now, but I’m having a grief day today, so naturally I wind up here. Thank you for being a part of my healing process. ❤
So I will heal someday? It's been 6 years since I lost my brother and best friend. I'm crying like a baby in front of the store right now. For a 52 year old man that means my nose is running and I have a puddle in my lower eye lids. The, Hey man I'm trying to be tough, part chokes me every time
@@brianpierson1322 This December will be 7 years since Caleb died. We didn’t get to say goodbye. It happened during an extremely foggy drive to work. Yesterday was a watery eye day. Quiet time mowing the lawn allows for thoughts and memories to flood a brain. It just happens sometimes. Even at 62, I get caught in a moment. It’s unpredictable. I haven’t had any public breakdowns such as you described. Mine are almost solely when I’m alone on my property. I’m so sorry for your loss Brian. So sorry. I can say we’ve learned to carry his loss better as time has passed, but in no way will it ever be the same. Caleb was a kind soul, a son everyone would have loved. I suspect your son was loved by many. Take care of yourself!
Lost my dad 9 years ago in 2010. To help with funeral costs, my mom had to sell his truck. Later on, very determined, she began looking for it around 2014. Fast forward to 2016, she had found the truck and bought it back for my 16th birthday. My grandfather, whom I was very very close with, passed away the following week after my birthday. I truly believe God kept him here with us just so he could experience that special moment in my life. I'm 19 now and while I don't still drive the truck, I still have it and will cherish it forever.
I drive my Grandfather's truck. He was a WW2, 2 time purple heart, D-Day Survivor. He was the greatest man I have ever known. He gave me his truck for making good grades in college. I miss him more than anything in the world. This song hits home for me. Thank you Grandoc.
My garndfather was aso a ww1 2 vet jumped into st.marrie egliese and was taken off the battle of the bulge battlefield christmas day due to frostbite. 82nd airborne death from above
My dad was an American soldier, served in the US Army for 27 years, he unexpectedly passed away in September 2020, at 46... he left me his truck.. and I’ve never heard this song until now.. I was just thinking of him, it’s still hard to even think about it.. but I know my dad loves me and he’s with me. Thanks for making this song. Happy Memorial Day everyone... hold your loved ones close. ❤️
My baby brother was killed 4 mths ago. On the way to the hospital that night, my truck quit. I never figured out what was wrong, and that truck never gave me any problems. Now I have to drive my brother's car. Sometimes, I feel like that truck quit because he wanted me to have it. It's bittersweet most days. I would give anything for him to be able to drive his on car. I'll walk wherever for the rest of my life if God gave me that option.
my dad just died this morning ..and I miss him so much already .he got diagnosed with cancer 4 months ago ,and before he got to far gone he gave me his diesel ford old 86 truck his pride and joy .now I drive and listen to this song and try to cry but I just cant .don't know why ..I LOVE YOU DAD .REST EASY WITH MOM .
+Camaro knapp GOOD FOR YOU! An 86 with Pride and Joy has to be Good Memories or you wouldn't drive that truck. I would say Drive with him...if he taught you how to drive then "Carefully" :)
2021...and when my son was killed, I'd drive his metallic red, 77 Ford on 44" super swampers and a 460 with a racing transmission in it...and tear up everything in my path, hoping that one day that I'd successfully destroy myself. When this song came out, I cried. When I seen the video the first time...I wept. R.I.P. Rob, mama loves you forever and a day.
I recently enlisted in the marine corps. I leave in September and this song is huge reminder of the cost that some of those great men and their families had to pay.
Stay strong and rely on the people to help you when you get back. hang in there, chin up and good luck on your journey bro. Thank you in advance for your commitment.
my dad is in the army he fought in iraq my grandpa was in the army and fought in the Vietnam war, my uncle just left for basic. he is also in the army, i dont know much but i do know u guys have saved americans their freedom and most dont even care
Never heard this song till today. My dad died almost 2 years ago & my mom recently gave me his truck (which I love). I dropped it off to get the brakes fixed & heard this song. He was a retired police officer & Yankees fan. So many other things about this song hit home. Needless to say I cried the whole way home.
I think at this point, everyone listening to this song has a similar story. Really sorry for your loss, I personally hate those words but yeah my old man passed almost 2 years ago too. He died laying in the mud next to his truck and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. What we can do is drive the truck.
@@LeeBriceofficial-tj5pwFuck off and stop trying to scam people who are grieving. Have some decency. But condolences and much love to everyone else, particularly those who’ve lost a loved one. I think that’s why we’re all here, because we relate-at least those who felt compelled to comment. The person you love was taken too soon, but you keep their spirit alive. They live on through you.
My little brother was in the Marines, he’s alive thank god. But when he was at boot camp I couldn’t listen to this song, it brought tears to my eyes and it didn’t help that his truck was in my drive.
I heard this song on the radio while my son was serving in Afghanistan. I thank God every day that he made it back alive and that he can still drive his truck.... but when I listen to this song it brings tears to my eyes, and my heart is pained for those whose sons, brothers, husbands didn't make it back alive.

I lost my dad back in 2021 from a combination of Covid and pneumonia. Everytime I listen to this song, it makes me think of him with tears rolling down my face. He was a Marine veteran and so damn proud of that fact.
Lost my dad to cancer December 2022. I got his truck and will never get rid of it. Every time I drive it, I feel him with me. God bless all my brothers and sisters who are hurting like me. We can all be together again someday through our faith in Jesus Christ. This life is only temporary.
My sister and I always wanted a jeep. As we grew up, we ended up getting cancer at the same time together, triple neg brca 1 breast cancer. Hers took her life. I bought the jeep and went and tore up fields while listening to this. I wished I had done it sooner so me and her could of tore up that small town together. Cancer really opened my eyes to how short life is. I wished I had that time with her. I wished Cancer took me instead. 8 years later, I still get in that Jeep with her. She is always on my mind when I get in and take him for a spin. Now he's falling apart and my heart is to, as it's so expensive to take care of him. I feel like I'm losing a part of my soul that I have with her when I get into that jeep. I hope to be able to fix him one day so I can continue to ride with my big sis.
I lost my soul mate six months ago after 25 years of marriage. My boys tell me their daddy's 4x4 truck is a bit too much for me to handle, but I drive his truck anyway sitting on his Carhartt jacket for a booster. This song gets me every time I hear it.
Words can't describe just how much this song hits home. Dad was always a Lee Brice fan and this song happened to be one of his favorites. I now have his truck and damn, it hits close to home.
I actually looked the meaning up and one of his songwriters heard the story of a father who lost his son in Afghanistan and he drives his truck because he reminds him.
The song was written about a Service Member who gave the ultimate sacrifice for He's Country. ( the coast of freedom is not free) The Father of the fallen Soldier still to this day drives his son's truck.

My brother died almost 2 years ago now. I have his 2005 ram1500 rumble bee. Still smells like him. Still has everything in it the way he left it. This song just hits differently than it used to.
Lost my uncle and cousin this year to I.E.D attacks... This was their favorite song... I listen to it everyday. And I plan to fix up my Uncle's 69' Mustang.
i cry everytime i hear this song. it reminds me of my brother who was killed by a drunk driver in february of 2000. he was my best friend and i named my oldest son after him. i miss him so much.
I used to think conservatives and country were stupid, until I opened my eyes to the truth of the world and lost my bigotry. This song has a lot more depth and meaning than the so-called emotional junk on the pop stations. Memories, grief, etc. More important than teenage romance...
My great grandfather was a world war 2 veteran. So he drove this 1977 f-150 all the time but when he died in 1981 the last thing that he said to my father was take care of my truck because my father was going to drive it to work that day because his Monte Carlo broke down. It was probably only 30 minutes later and he had a heart attack and died. So then my great uncle got the truck and he drove it until he died in 2004. Now I 13 and I'm working on restoring that same truck so I'll drive it for the rest of my life and hopefully past it down. This song gets to me sometimes.
Don't ever give up no matter what people say. That truck isn't worth any amount of money that is in this earth. That truck is everything to you and that's all that should matter. I have an 84' Delta 88 that my parents bought me. drove it like it was a newborn baby, sat in the desert for 2 years, started right up, and I now drive it daily and it's been nothing but perfect. A $600 car has tugged at my heart that I would give everything just to keep it. Take care of that truck my friend Because just remember, you can't get another one just like that.
I feel you. Except the thing that was passed down to me was a very old seater chest. The chest has been in my family for years. And i plan on keeping it till the day i pass. And pass it down to my daughter. So yeah the song gets me as well. Plus my grandma was in the army.
Yep. Got ya there. My father drove truck. He always had a pick up. He also served in air force. When my father passed my sister in law played this song for me saying my brother cries his eyes out every time he hears it. Dad had given his truck to my brother. So there I am listening to it and balling my eyes out. Then last year, really missing my father I was visiting my aunt, uncle and cousins. My cousin could tell I was really down. So he took me for a ride to get out and just get my mind off of it all. We go across this bridge and there is some good music playing down there. I told him .. those are professionals not some back yard band. The sound system was just too good. We parked my cousins truck. Started walking across the bridge to go listen to the music. Then I hear and intro to a song. The man said I would like to have 3 minutes of silence for those service people who have served in the past, those who are serving now and those who didn't make it back. Silence fell. Then bang here came this song. I couldn't make it across the bridge. I had to stand and hold on to the side and just cry my heart out!! Great song The rest of the show was fantastic.
Much love @Wendy Mitchell mad , but if he saw how much ya loved him in his absence, he'd smile bigger'n ever and tell you those words ya loved to hear so much.
This song was wwritten because one of the writes heard an interview with a man who had lost his son in Iraq... he drove his son's truck to cope with his sadness..,it is beautiful. RESPECT...
Songs actually about a father losing his son to war. It can go either way. Its beautiful. We have all lost someone close to us. We will never know why, until we do. May peace find you all.
I listened to this song when I was younger when my dad was deployed and even now I cry. When I listen I'm grateful my dad came back every time he deployed
I'm a former Marine. I served from '70 to '73. I have an F100 that I bought new in '76. I was just a kid. I'm in my 70s now. I still have it. It still runs. Well actually. The sun has burnt the paint off the roof and hood and there's a little rust but I don't care. 4WD/4 on the floor. You'd better believe my son (Sam) is getting it when I die. Love this song. I get a lump in my throat every time. SEMPER Fi
This song can make any real man cry, I have so much respect for past relatives and the people fighting for my freedom and for my life by putting theirs on the line.
I lost my grandfather two months ago tomorrow. This song just accidentally came on and I've been driving my grandfathers truck everyday. So this really hit me ❤️
God bless his soul. May he rest in peace. May perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the Mercy of God rest in peace, Amen. Hugs to you!
I just lost my grandfather two months ago. It's been tough. I got to drive his truck on the day of his funeral, and it was so special. But now my grandmother is going to sell it :(
I lost my older cousin to cancer when he had been 15, nearly a month before his birthday when he was going to get a car that he wanted so badly. I'm 16 now and gosh, its the best thing I have left on this word of him. I miss him terribly..
I’m blessed to drive my son’s Nissan Titan 4x4. Tyler loved his truck !!! ❤️. My son got killed in four wheeler accident at age 24. He loved Jesus and these great United States and was a Momma’s Boy. ❤️💯❤️
My fiancé passed away from being in the military, he was shot and killed instantly. I miss him so damn much but I know that he's up in heaven looking down on me right now he wouldn't want me to be sad. I drive his truck all the time, it still has his scent and honestly I hope it never leaves.
+Julilah Mae I just want to say that I bet he is up there looking at you with the biggest smile for doing what your doing with his truck. My heart and thoughts go out to you. God Bless You
I know this song was written for a brother, but it reminds me of my sister. She had this old orange truck she just loved. The way he describes it is so much like hers looked. I wish i had the chance to drive her truck after she passed, but i have greedy family, but thats another story. I cry every time i hear this song.
My baby brother passed this month from stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. 3 weeks into turning 36 years old. Pancreatic cancer at that age is so so rare, let alone a stage four diagnosis... my mother had to bury her only son and I lost my childhood best friend, my irish twin, the most wholesome man I've ever known, truly. 😢 He left my mother his 2022 Ford maverick and it tears my heart up driving it because it's where I feel him this most. I always loved this song long before this month, but wish it didn't have such a personal meaning to me now. RIP Jeffrey Jay ❤
Of course its a ford... My uncle died and I inhererited his old 84 f150. I never knew him but driving his old red truck makes me feel connected to him. I do exactly as is said in the song, windows down, country music up, and just cruise. Sometimes I just go 45 because i can.
This song reminds me of my friend I lost a year ago. I remember because at his viewing, they let his best friend drive his truck to the viewing and half of the people that showed up didn’t know it was open coffin. I cried my whole heart out that night. So many people that knew him and missed him showed up that night, even though it was freezing there was sill a line of people all the way out to the parking lot of the funeral home. We all said our goodbyes to him and did it over again at his funeral. I remember because we all signed his coffin with silver sharpies. Even his favorite teacher that no longer taught at our school showed up, and it was a two hour drive for him. This song and You Should Be Here.
Pash Pash Unfortunately it happens to all of us. I'm sure he's in heaven watching over you smiling knowing that his best friend is thinking about him. I wanna go ahead and pray for you and everyone who has to suffer from this day on. Sorry for asking this how did he pass?
Pash Pash yes although I’ve never had to go through anything like that those songs hit me. That remind me of my grandpa who is still alive but.. it reminds me of what’s it’s gonna be like when he passes away
Your dedication of this song today to service men thru nurses like my wife was spot on. While she does not put her life on the line, she misses holidays with her kids because some one has to be bed side to catch those babies and provide. Wonderful care forr those new momma's. Then when the sky divers came in i was blown away. Thank you for making relatable music.
i lost my brother when I was 7 years old. he had this exact truck but, in green. We still actually have this truck on the farm. perfect song/video couldn't be anymore perfect.
I feel his pain, I lost my older brother a year ago and every day I miss him. Those days I miss him the most I sit down and remember all the good times we had. I the lessons he taught me, hell if the wasn't for him I would have drown. I just hope that he isn't suffering where he is now.
I lost my grandpa when I was 6 and I'm 17 now and I still miss him. He had a massive heart attack. And every year on the anniversary of his death I lock myself in my room and not come out because of how bad I miss him. I know he's in a better place now.
I know exactly what you mean. Hang in there and talk to someone. Share your stories of him and how he was and what he meant to you. it really does help to talk to someone you trust and that will listen. The struggle is real.
When I turn 18 I'm gonna ask my grandma if I can have my grandpa's old truck. My parents dont wants me to visit his grave because of how close we were.
I think you should visit his grave and take someone with you and talk to them. tell them you don't need answers or a reply but you need someone to listen. imo
Grandpas are so important to us. I miss mine too, they both died at a ripe old age of 92 and that still doesn't make it easy. They were such good men. We owe it to our grandfathers to live the best lives they could hope for us. We can't stay stuck in the past, but living forward, we will honor their memories. We will become the men they hoped us to be. Take heart, Chris. Your grandpa is still with you.
My cousin, Army CW02 Miles Henderson, died in Iraq on 11/6/06. A few years ago, I drove Miles' truck home from a family skeet shooting party, and this song came to mind. May he and all his comrades in arms who didn't make it home alive rest in eternal peace.
I would like to say thank you for this song. It means a lot to me and hits home. I currently have possession of a 1972 Chevy C10 that was my grandpa's farm truck. My grandpa passed away 3 months after I was born in 1990 and my father restored the truck as I was growing up. My father passed away in 2008 when I was 18. Driving that truck makes me feel as if they are both riding with me giving me encouragement to move forward.
@@charstar13 i didnt say black lives didnt matter. The only reason why my profile pic is this is because i support law enforcement but yes black lives do matter as well as everyone elses
@CrashChannel that statement means that black lives is already included in that. And that sadly isn't the case. If you truly believe all lives matter I hope you are rooting for the black ones as well.
I have my Papaw's truck. He made it through Vietnam and lived a long life but in the end the PTSD got to him. Couldn't drive the truck for the longest time, just let it sit in the driveway, now I love cruising down the road in it with the windows down and the radio going. Lets me remember him a little better.
My dad passed away in November 2019. He may have been my stepdad because my biological dad left but he will always be my dad in my eyes. I miss washing your GMC dad, I’m happy your in a better place now, and god’s lucky to have you by his side. I love you dad.💜
my sister was killed by drunk driver November 8 she was 15 my dad died November 18 from a heart attack from missing her so much . I don't have his truck but me and him would sing this song together a lot I just turned 20 June 20th
This song has become so relevant to me. Just lost my father-in-law and he left me his beloved F150 because I always kept it running and in good condition for him. I can’t look at it without thinking of him and missing him so bad. I’ll leave everything as he did on the inside and do my best to keep it running for years.
My soulmate was killed suddenly little over 2 yrs ago & ive had him on my mind past few weeks (way more than usual)so I decided to listen to our playlist & saw your comment 💜 Sending so much love & light your way! Just do the best you can keep moving forward & take one day at a time☀️🥰
I'm thankful for your dads service and I'm going to join the marines because of my uncle hue died in afganastan and i haven't gotten over it because he ws like a brother to me and I'm 12
Everybody has had hard times but we can all agree this song has reminded us of the lost but helped us get through. Just because their gone doesn't mean their not here
Pray for my son he is being deployed and i can't do it. I was born and raised in the military. We as a family knew what we were sacrificing. But now having to say good bye to my son i cant not even for freedom.
A soldier from my hometown was killed in Afghanistan this summer. His body was escorted home from the airport by a procession of police cars, motorcycles, and dirty pickups. One of the trucks was his truck, and the person driving it (I'm not sure if it was a friend or a brother) wrote "Aaron, I drive your truck." in the mud. I lost my shit. A huge thank you to anyone who has given up their life to protect this country. I love you.
That's how you know this song really hits down home for many people, when somebody like me, who hasnt lost anyone close, still ends up watering down their sweet tea accidentally by tears. All these comments just make it that much more intense. May God heal every one of your broken souls ❤
Tommy. Baby, I’m still terrified to scratch something when I drive it. I hate it’s what I have left, but I know it was your dream. I miss you always. Heart and soul. Can’t believe you’re gone. 11.14.21 💔
My brother Is In Florida right now, he went through rehab out there, and now he says out there cause hes happier. My mom loves this song, and always thinks of my brother cause he has a white truck, and i think of him too when i listen to this song now :) i love ya eric
My teacher played this in my class and he said we should watch this is memory of all the people who fought in the war and didn't make it home. And he also told me a dad made the lyrics to this song, and turned it into the people who make songs, and they decided to make this a song, while this song is about the dad getting sad because his son died in the war fighting. For all the people who lost their loved ones in ANY war they should now, the person you lost,in the war,or anything at all, they made or are making earth the amazing place it is today, thank you for your service From a small UA-camr in 6th grade
If I heard this song in school i would have to excuse myself from the class, it reminds me when I was young and me and my grandpa would always drive around in his truck, he is still alive but he was hours from dying and I couldn't imagine living without him.
My grandfather died almost a year ago, this song represents him perfectly. He had a red Ford F-150 the running boards are falling off, the seats are peeling. He's had that truck for 45 years. His wife wouldn't give us the truck for free so we had to buy it for 15k. It was worth it, no price in the world represents the feeling I get while riding in it.
Teagan sorry you had to pay that much for something that you deserved anyway, but you have it now I want you to never sell it never no matter the price
I’ve always loved this song but now it has such a deeper meaning to me. My dad passed away 2 weeks before Christmas 2022 during a surgery that was supposed to prolong his life. His truck is all I have left of him and it is now my daily driver. Miss you so much dad and I promise to take care of it❤
I lost my dad in 2012 it was very rough on me considering i was only 14. My dad has an old Ford pickup kind of like the one in this video just a few years newer. Every time i feel depressed and i start thinking about dad i go out for a drive. Him and i always talked about going to northern Michigan but we never got to so i plan on giving his truck a tune up and im hittin the road this June. Very good song!!!!
I lost my dad 2013 and he was the only person that made me happy but I took advantage of his love and I've regretted it ever since I have even thought of suicide but I'm sorry if it seems like I'm trying to make everyone have pity on me all I think is I hope everyone who has had this happen remember stay strong and move along
OMG...I wasn't prepared for how powerful that song was or how much it would impact me. For all veterans of military service, those who made it back and those who didn't, and for the family members of those who didn't come back, I thank you for your time, your sacrifice, and your service.
My dad was a American sniper in Iraq and my grandpa was in veninam and my grandma also my great grandpa was in ww2 and my uncle was in Afghanistan luckily they all didn't die thank you to all who keep this Country safe and who is keeping us safe.
My brother is a SEAL TEAM SIX captain and was in Iraq and survived a shot by a sniper and managed to come home safely. bless all the soldiers who keep us safe
revolving nation God bless your family I'm also a former green beret and sniper with many deployments to combat zones even few people haven't heard about I am thankful the Lord allowed me to return everytime but I will admit i didn't return the same never will be I'm sure your family who are veterans can tell you the same send them my thanks from a fellow veteran.
i still have my little brothers blanket from when he was born........i miss him so much......he was born on December 25, 96. He died the same day. He would have been my age this past Christmas. R.I.P. David Patrick Trager. i love you bubby.
This song has helped me to where words can't explain. My grandpa recently died and he was a retired marine who fought in war. Rest In Peace grandpa Phin
I dedicate this song to my friend died 2 years ago in a atv accident we wrote on her desk at school and had a moment of silence and when I went to the visitation she looked like a angel all she ever wanted was to have friends
my dad died in October of 2012 so I can fairly say this song sure as hell helped me grieve. I still cry when I listen to it though even eight years later.
For those of you that don't know....this song was written about SFC Jared Monti. He was my PSG and one of the greatest people I ever met. Jared, I love you brother, see you in Valhalla!
They played this song at the Bruins Veterans game and it made my day. i love this song it has so much meaning. God is good. RIP Jared Christopher Monti Sept. 20, 1975 - June 21, 2006 Prayers go the families of all fallen solders!
Oh heavens how absolutely beautiful..
Just listened to this song, while sitting in my dad's truck, beside his grave, allowing myself to cry, "though I try to be strong". Last month marked 4yrs since he's been gone. Thank you. It's a song I didn't know I'd need.
Hang on brother. He fought for you
I just want to say thank you to your Family for your Dad's service. God bless you my friend 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I want my dad back I don't know how 2 navigate this life without him.
just nope
I lost my husband of 43 years, nearly 11 years ago. I'd crank this song, and You Should Be Here, and cry my eyes out while driving his truck. I smile now. Thanks for those memories.
Every time I hear this I think if my brother who died in the army and I cry at the line asked God why
@tammywhite1721 I'm sorry to hear that Tammy. I lost a brother to cancer many long years ago. That pain in your heart never goes away. Hugs, Paulette.
I haven't cried yet. I'll explode in tears someday.
Hello 👋 are you one of my great fans out there?
10 years ago, I lost my son. Three and 1/2 years of having cancer. I will never be the same. We bought him a car of his choice-his reward of getting into pharmacy school-that car was his pride and joy. He finished school-got his doctorate -worked for six months-and then diagnosed with cancer. We were by his side every step of the way until the end. I drove his car from from 2010 to now. Still cannot let the car go. Thank you Lee for giving the words to my feelings.
I lost my dad in 2010 to stomach cancer man does it suck
Just lost my dad today, it might not be a truck. But I drive your Impala Dad. Semper Fi Marine. I love you forever. You are and will always be my Hero. Thank you for never giving up on me.
John DuBois I’m sorry for your loss brother. Semper fidelis. My dad was in for 30 years and i thank god every day for him making it back home.
So, so sorry. I lost my dad last year. It still hurts like hell. God bless
Remember Marines never die we are always here
I lost my father this year as well. Wish you the best my friend
Marines never die, they just go to hell and regroup.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Caleb Matthew.
Much love Dennis ❤
i am so sorry for your loss may his memory go on forever
Your son misses you just as much you miss him I know he is happy seeing you grown and live life to the fullest god has wrapped his arms around your son and brung him home❤️ may you dine peace and happiness as he would want you too fly high to your beautiful son
God bless you and your son
I lost my dad on march 3rd of this year and he was only 59 years old it hurts like hell I’ve made myself sick literally I’ve been so tore up over it because I just want to see him and hug him and be able to talk to him I feel like he left me so soon. Fk it’s hard man.
Bought to loose mine as well. Can’t imagine but I’m here if ya need a friend.

Sorry for your loss
Thank you for your son service! Sorry for your loss!
Dad passed away, and riding his bike home, this song popped in my head....had to pull over and gather myself. He wasn't a military guy, and I know its not a truck, but this song hits HARD now
I’m sorry for you loss I know how you feel I lost my dad the same way on July 16 this year
I lost my dad a year ago...this song hits so close.
😢my dad wasn't in the service but right now he's in the hospital with COVID and intestinal bleeding I'm hoping he makes it but idk I'm scared

So sorry to hear that. God be with your son and you ..stay strong .
@@ashleyburns6357 My heart and my prayers go out to you and your family. So sorry for your loss Ashley.
I lost my brother and I now have his truck. I feel close to him whenever I drive it and I have conversations with him. I totally relate to this song.
Good Story considering. Stay strong.
Cherish that truck.....never sell it!
Where are you at bro if it's not running I'd like to make that happen. He deserves to look down on you rolling through town in that truck

Hello thank you for your love and support towards my unending career🌹🌹.... Where are you from?
I think at this point, everyone listening to this song has a similar story. Really sorry for your loss, I personally hate those words but yeah my old man passed almost 2 years ago too. He died laying in the mud next to his truck and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. What we can do is drive the truck.

My little brother was in the Marines, he’s alive thank god. But when he was at boot camp I couldn’t listen to this song, it brought tears to my eyes and it didn’t help that his truck was in my drive.

Lost my dad to cancer December 2022. I got his truck and will never get rid of it. Every time I drive it, I feel him with me. God bless all my brothers and sisters who are hurting like me. We can all be together again someday through our faith in Jesus Christ. This life is only temporary.
Sorry for your lost, I'm sure your dad give you a legacy and many good memories to hold on to it. Keep it up in hard time
My sister and I always wanted a jeep.

I actually looked the meaning up and one of his songwriters heard the story of a father who lost his son in Afghanistan and he drives his truck because he reminds him.
SFC Jared Monti

Correct. He was a good man.
Kaylie Bricker all country songs have a meaning, unlike rap where it's all about the same thing.
@LEE BRICE I love all of your music! Mainly I Dont Dance and this one. I will forever listen to you
The song was written about a Service Member who gave the ultimate sacrifice for He's Country. ( the coast of freedom is not free) The Father of the fallen Soldier still to this day drives his son's truck.

Every day i lisiten to this song beacause it makes me feel something inside my heart and that is love
Take care of that truck my friend Because just remember, you can't get another one just like that.
my grandpa was in that war he made it though the war and came back home a week later he has a heart attack and died I miss him so much

Gangsta Kitty u keep that truck and never get rid of it
My uncle is dying as I’m typing this one of the last black cowboys from Florida what a great man the last of a dying breed our family is devastated

I get a lump in my throat every time. SEMPER Fi

before my grandpa passed away he handed down his 1994 ram 1500 to me. i miss you papa❤️
My gratitude uncle gave me his 1995 ford f150 4x4 before he died of cancer
This song can make any real man cry, I have so much respect for past relatives and the people fighting for my freedom and for my life by putting theirs on the line.
Wow.. I read many comments here. This song really has touched a lot of people!!!
donna nash I'm crying more about the comments than the song omg someone send help
donna nash yes it does
donna nash because of the song I remember a lot of things that I tried to block out from my memory
He was in my unit. This song really brings out the feelings.
You don't even know the half of it
I lost my grandfather two months ago tomorrow.
Man I’m going through the same thing 2003 Harley Davidson f150 that was his pride and joy and every time I get in it’s so tough
I miss him terribly..
it is ok if you cry 😢
i am sorry for your family

I’m blessed to drive my son’s Nissan Titan 4x4. Tyler loved his truck !!! ❤️. My son got killed in four wheeler accident at age 24. He loved Jesus and these great United States and was a Momma’s Boy. ❤️💯❤️
God bless you and your family he is in a better place i wish you all the best

May He Bless you too ! ❤️
God Bless You
i think him for serving in the army i would but i can't because of my diabetes
I know this song was written for a brother, but it reminds me of my sister. She had this old orange truck she just loved. The way he describes it is so much like hers looked. I wish i had the chance to drive her truck after she passed, but i have greedy family, but thats another story. I cry every time i hear this song.
Hello 👋 Are you one of my great fans out there?
This song is so sad. I want to be a marine when I grow up. This is actually inspirational
you're dead, you're not gonna grow up
Dicks out to you.
+Meme Queen aww don't make me think of Harambe 😞
For real with this shit....
what country?
My father died a few days ago and I got his truck so this song makes me cry every time it comes on
8 years later and this still brings tears to my eyes. Best song ever. Can’t change my mind💔
Makes me ball my eyes out brother
Obama was president...
Other than covid not too much change
your not lying, i drive my brothers truk and my pawpaws jeep, they both passed away
yeah
Hello 👋 are you one of my great fans out there?
Of course its a ford... My uncle died and I inhererited his old 84 f150. I never knew him but driving his old red truck makes me feel connected to him. I do exactly as is said in the song, windows down, country music up, and just cruise. Sometimes I just go 45 because i can.
I'm more of a Chevy man,but I'd drive a ford if I lost a loved one if it was there's
nice Chevy good trucks too. My favorite is American made and owned
nice Chevy good trucks too. My favorite is American made and owned
exactly! Ford, Chevy, and Dodge, hell even some toyotas are good.
yeah feel you
This song reminds me of my friend I lost a year ago.
I love this song
Who else is listening to this in 2020 💙great song 🇺🇸

Hello 👋🏻
Canon Foutch me
Here in the UK. Love country over here.
Me
Your dedication of this song today to service men thru nurses like my wife was spot on.
I'm sorry for you loss
im sorry for you brother
+William Stalker sorry for your loss
+William Stalker you are very much welcome.

I feel his pain, I lost my older brother a year ago and every day I miss him. Those days I miss him the most I sit down and remember all the good times we had. I the lessons he taught me, hell if the wasn't for him I would have drown. I just hope that he isn't suffering where he is now.
Travis Flowers gf
Travis Flowers I feel so bad for you don't worry I know he is looking over you now and he💜loves💜you
I lost my grandpa when I was 6 and I'm 17 now and I still miss him. He had a massive heart attack. And every year on the anniversary of his death I lock myself in my room and not come out because of how bad I miss him. I know he's in a better place now.
My Grandma just passed away.. Hang in there man
I know exactly what you mean.
Words cannot describe how much this song means to me. A beautiful tribute...
Wonderful story!!! thanks for sharing!
“Till all the pain’s a cloud of dust!” That line is just DEEP
facts! I dislike your profile picture (if all lives matter blacks ones do as well) but agree with your comment :)
@@charstar13 i didnt say black lives didnt matter. The only reason why my profile pic is this is because i support law enforcement but yes black lives do matter as well as everyone elses
I agree with your profile picture
Your momma loves you
@CrashChannel that statement means that black lives is already included in that.
4th generation in service, never had a song bring me to tears before.
My dad passed away in November 2019. He may have been my stepdad because my biological dad left but he will always be my dad in my eyes. I miss washing your GMC dad, I’m happy your in a better place now, and god’s lucky to have you by his side. I love you dad.💜

Willeywunka thank you, I appreciate you.💚

This song has become so relevant to me. Just lost my father-in-law and he left me his beloved F150 because I always kept it running and in good condition for him. I can’t look at it without thinking of him and missing him so bad. I’ll leave everything as he did on the inside and do my best to keep it running for years.
I just my dad he left he dodge ram
I just inherited my grandfather's F150 when he died 4 weeks ago. This song makes me cry now. Every time.
Lost my fiancé to cancer in July. And this song hits me right in the heart I listen every morning and cry for him. I miss him so much.

I thank him for his service and im sorry that sucks
Everybody has had hard times but we can all agree this song has reminded us of the lost but helped us get through. Just because their gone doesn't mean their not here
Pray for my son he is being deployed and i can't do it. I was born and raised in the military. We as a family knew what we were sacrificing. But now having to say good bye to my son i cant not even for freedom.
Hello 👋 Are you one of my great fans out there?
A soldier from my hometown was killed in Afghanistan this summer. His body was escorted home from the airport by a procession of police cars, motorcycles, and dirty pickups. One of the trucks was his truck, and the person driving it (I'm not sure if it was a friend or a brother) wrote "Aaron, I drive your truck." in the mud. I lost my shit.
A huge thank you to anyone who has given up their life to protect this country. I love you.
*I'VE CUSSED, I'VE PRAYED, I'VE SAID GOODBYE SHUT MY FIST AND ASK GOD WHY THESE DAYS WHEN I'M MISSING YOU THIS MUCH*
That's how you know this song really hits down home for many people, when somebody like me, who hasnt lost anyone close, still ends up watering down their sweet tea accidentally by tears. All these comments just make it that much more intense. May God heal every one of your broken souls ❤
indeed :)
Tommy. Baby, I’m still terrified to scratch something when I drive it. I hate it’s what I have left, but I know it was your dream. I miss you always. Heart and soul. Can’t believe you’re gone. 11.14.21 💔
God bless you and your lost ones
My brother Is In Florida right now, he went through rehab out there, and now he says out there cause hes happier. My mom loves this song, and always thinks of my brother cause he has a white truck, and i think of him too when i listen to this song now :) i love ya eric
My teacher played this in my class and he said we should watch this is memory of all the people who fought in the war and didn't make it home. And he also told me a dad made the lyrics to this song, and turned it into the people who make songs, and they decided to make this a song, while this song is about the dad getting sad because his son died in the war fighting. For all the people who lost their loved ones in ANY war they should now, the person you lost,in the war,or anything at all, they made or are making earth the amazing place it is today, thank you for your service
From a small UA-camr in 6th grade
Janel _22 I met that man today. He lives in my town. He talked about his son. The man who’s sons name is Jared Monti owns this exact truck.
This song was writen for my cousin Jared Monti
Maddie Westgate I know that name, we learned all about his sacrifice in BCT. RIP SFC Monti, your sacrifice motivates me every day as a medic.
If I heard this song in school i would have to excuse myself from the class, it reminds me when I was young and me and my grandpa would always drive around in his truck, he is still alive but he was hours from dying and I couldn't imagine living without him.
You are well written for a 6th grader, congrats.
Hearing this song bring me to tears everytime
I can kinda relate except he had a mountaineer and it was given too me as a graduation gift it carried him near the end and me as I make my beginning
Miss you so much dad and I promise to take care of it❤
My condolences to you and your loved ones
I lost my dad in 2012 it was very rough on me considering i was only 14. My dad has an old Ford pickup kind of like the one in this video just a few years newer. Every time i feel depressed and i start thinking about dad i go out for a drive. Him and i always talked about going to northern Michigan but we never got to so i plan on giving his truck a tune up and im hittin the road this June. Very good song!!!!
Sry for your lost
Northern Michigan is where it's at!!!!
Taylor Ledford Ik how you feel i lost my great grandpa although i never met him i wanted to end my life cause life was harder
So sorry
To my best friend JR. 25 years ago you died for your country. You will never be forgotten. You will always be my hero. Thank you for coming!

This song has helped me to where words can't explain. My grandpa recently died and he was a retired marine who fought in war. Rest In Peace grandpa Phin
I dedicate this song to my friend died 2 years ago in a atv accident we wrote on her desk at school and had a moment of silence and when I went to the visitation she looked like a angel all she ever wanted was to have friends
was here name cylene
my dad died in October of 2012 so I can fairly say this song sure as hell helped me grieve. I still cry when I listen to it though even eight years later.
My dad was a marine in Vietnam. Good rest his soul. I still drive his truck even though it's falling apart
