I was never a big fan of country music...but this song cuts so deep My wife and I built our home on 9 acres with our bare hands. Planted more crops than we can count. Raised 5 kids. Built dreams and stood through times harder than we could have ever wished for. Listening to this song right now as we both have our hands deep in the dirt on 'yet another' project and this song brings so many tears to our eyes ...thank you for bringing this music into our lives. even here in 2022
CheesusCrust27 Just because a song is popular for a short amount of time and hits number one for a week on a few different charts doesn't mean that it's given the praise it deserves. The lasting effect that it has also plays a part into it. This song soon became forgotten by the time the summer ended, and I hear it on the radio about once every two weeks nowadays. It's not played nearly as much as 2011 released Luke Bryan songs or even older FGL songs.
As a heavy metal musician, this song opened my eyes. The little things in life we don’t pay much attention to, seems to paint a beautiful picture of memories from childhood to today.
My grandmother's name was Rosemary and she went by Rosie. My grandfather had the exact same lunch box that she was carrying in the video. Brought me to tears as I miss them both.
Reminds me of my grandpa always working outside. Doing his garden , taking care of his hunting dogs , and deer hunting in the woods. He spent a lot of his life in dirt and he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I remember being a little girl outside playing with my sister in grandma and grandpas backyard and he was always working outside in it. Back then it was so normal. I didn’t pay attention but now at 37 I’d love to go back to one of those hot summer days in the 90s. Love you grandpa. 06/10/32 - 03/28/16
Beautiful... feel the same way about my Dad and the farm I grew up on!!! Living around my relatives and Grandma lived right next door to us!! You don't know how much you have been blessed with, until it's gone!! However, a lot of people won't ever experience that; but it was nice while it lasted... "they call it progress, but I just don't know..." ❤❤❤
My Dad passed in 2016. My hero..... ⚒ Worked hard in the dirt-- his whole life!!! Hardest-working man I've ever known!! Broke the "mold" with him!! I love 😍 you, Daddy!!! I'll never let go!!! July 31st, 2016. Worst day ever... ❤❤❤
My son, who I lost in 2019 at 22 years old, loved this song and identified his whole life with. He was definitely a good ol boy and I miss him immensely💔
My Wife and I have lost her Sister, Father, and Brother all within this past year.... keeping you faith will be tested and hard know they are with you, see all and now know all and everything. This is so true!!! I am a farmer's daughter and proud of it!! Never seen a more hardworking man than my Daddy!!! I saw you, Daddy, and I was listening to you!!! ❤🎉😊
I grew up a farm boy in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma and couldn't wait to get out and see the world and leave that goddamn dirt behind. I did exactly that. I'm 53 now and I realized that over 6 million miles, 41 countries and some sights I will always see, I took that dirt and everything it taught me everywhere I went. I also realized it will be with me when I'm through...and I'm thankful for every bit of that
Wish I could convince the girl that I’m Crazy about of that sentiment. One day she will realize it and it will end up being too late. I try to tell her it doesn’t matter where you’re at in the world it’s who you are with there.
The fact they sang an amazing song and told a story about someone's life at the same time and they fit together so well is amazing. Y'all's music videos are so thought out and are always awesome to watch
I saw them perform this in concert last night, it was absolutely amazing. Tyler had this look on his face that showed how much passion he had for the song. It was beautiful
+Rylee Langlois I love this song! I'm sure he had passion for it. This is a beautiful song about life and the place you call home. You are lucky to get to see them perform it live.
But...we don't come from dirt we come from a womb. Plants are grown in dirt, not people. If anything, suggesting you come from dirt would be more of a familial insult than some 'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust' philosophical quip. This is embarrassingly unintelligent and here we find 230+ people celebrating it. Amazing 😆
I don't even like country music, but if I told you that this video didn't make me cry I would be lying. One of the most powerful music videos I've seen in years.
This song never gets old to me. The older I get, the more it makes me smile and reminisce. Northern Indiana born and raised. Spent years running around on, driving around on, and raising hell on this dirt. Wouldn't trade a day out there with my friends.
This song brings me back to my passion...the outdoors. I left a 1 stop light town where I grew up and moved to a large city. Got my master's degree, got married. 3 great kids later and I'm working in a high-paced world. Business suit and the nice office. But deep down, this song makes me want to sell it all and move back to the country. Hang deer stands and live my passion. Praying God will give me the direction to make good decisions. Mid-life crisis I guess. Lol. Love the simple meaning of the lyrics. Great song.
Amen. My brother had this song played at Our Daddy's services when he passed by my parents were together since Momma was13 n him 16 married several years later n started having babies. Bought a house when I was a baby then had one built when I was 10. So this song means a lot to us.
I just suprised my wife and took her into our family farm and danced with her.we been fighting to find a place for years. then our farm came up for sale.i bought it back and i hope everthing goes back into place with my life thanks 4 the meaningful song fits my life perfect.
Just purchased 10 acres of dirt for my wife and I its just us and dog but looking forward to having our sons family hopefully grandkids and great grandkids spend some memories here congrats
This song takes me straight back to being a teen up on my grandpas farm. Sneaking out with buddies to go get into some trouble, grandpa dragging me to church on sundays, reminds me of plowing the gardens with him and how hard of worker he was. My roots will always be on that patch of ground. I’ll be buried there when the day comes.
If you are here in spring 2020, coming back and listening to the song that started it all for you. That song that you listen to when you are thinking about those summers flooring 100 on a country road with all the buddies in the truck and tossin a football at a bonfire with the other seniors before you graduate. Wow time flies
2020 has really made me rethink this little piece of land I live on, where my buddies and I used to build fires and shoot fireworks and play football and have parties no one remembers. Get stuck in mud and drag race our cars on the straightaway where no one could call the cops. Jump in the creek on hot summer days, and lay out with my old g/f and look at endless stars. Where my pets are buried and plants i planted as seedlings are 30 feet high, people on the news are telling us we need to give them our houses cause we're white? 2020 can kiss my ass because the only way I'm leaving this land without my choosing is if someone is a better shot than me! God Bless the people who worked and sweated and bled for their lands, and hope yall all stand up for it!
@@jcwelte7833 thanks bro, kinda got a little carried away but nostalgia has a way of doing that. Lotta memories in this mud dirt ground, not all positive, but damn, they're my family's!
Who cares if they don't sound 100% country. They sound pretty amazing. Not all country music sounds like old country music or older country music. There is definitely a different sound but music progresses and changes just like we do. Love this song.
I found my "southern girl" in 2013. She passed last year, suddenly at 46. I think of her often, not every moment because life takes over, but every time I see the stains of that red dirt on my truck or hear this song I break down and cry. I love her, the red dirt and those swimming holes we'd find. God bless those southern girls!
i admit i've always been skeptical about florida Georgia line and always thought they were the ruin of country music. well, right now I have to turn my head because this song is very awesome. It shows me they can be deep and, despite their success, they have recorded a song with a true country sentiment. I'm really glad, hope this won't be just a song but an indicator of the direction their album will take. great improvement fgl!
I'll tell you something, 1968 was just another year the fields needed tillin and there wasn't enough rain, but it was the first year Rosie started bringing my lunch out to the field everyday. Rosie and I had five children, one died at birth. They were tough times, tough years, but we did okay. I asked Rosie one time if she wanted to travel to see the world. Well no, she said the world comes right to my window, everyday, even if it is broken. See, Rosie was right about two things, you don't have to see the world to be worldly. Just raise good children, bake good enough pies, and the world will come right to your window. She was right about something else too, I built that baseball diamond way too close to the kitchen.
I don't know if anyone ever realizes the meaning at the end of the song. When he first mentions "even if it is broken", he could be referring to the world. It's not until the end when he mentions building the baseball diamond too close to the kitchen that he confirms it's the kitchen window that was broken... not the world. DEEP!!!
@@jordanhermiller9756 except if you watch the video. One of his son's hit the baseball and the mother falls to the ground to avoid being hit and it goes through the kitchen window. It then breaks to the commentary with the husband talking about his wife and saying "even if it is broken." It's not that deep bro.
I've heard the song multiple times before. But seeing the video made me really cry. I wanna have a life that I can build a house into a home with the man I love.
On December 17, 2014 we will have to sell my grandparents' property in TX. This song made me feel sad, yet grateful I got to spend so many Christmases at that farmhouse...dirt, fast cars, and freedom were all I knew for the past 18 years...gonna be tough but we're hanging in there!
If people want to bash everything else they do, that's fine. But you're right, this is damn good songwriting right here. Not that they wrote it, but that's kind of beside the point. This song is the equivalent of someone giving the the topic "Pencil" and saying write a song about it. Pretty damn impressive to do it so well.
Only thing FGL deserves credit for is picking an amazing song. They usually release garbage, but the credit here goes to the writers. Pure song writers magic here.....
In 2050 People will be saying "this new music is not country" Back in my day we had real country like Florida Georgia Line. People always do that, music evolves and many of the older generation clings to their old music and refuses to acknowledge the new music. Ironic this is that they did the same. Many of the old artists they love now and call REAL music was garbage (to their parents) in their time. Case in point: Many parents hated Elvis Presley music and said "That's not REAL or good music." However, now he's a legend. Many other artists and type of music followed this path: Swing, Rock Music, Johnny Cash,etc..
For me.... possibly the best country song every written......life, love, pain and death.... its where I call home....someday I'll return to it. No one could have sung this song better.
I don't get why there is so much hate on this song...yeah its about dirt, but so what. it has a deeper meaning behind it, so would you all just watch the video, listen to the meaning behind the lyrics and shut the hell up, my god.
Yeah. And, the meaning behind it is.... dirt is awesome. AmIright? Can I get a 'hell yeah!' Dirt for the WIN! Own that shit. Love dirt. Little pieces of rock and detritus... and little organisms...
I agree with many of the people on here (wishinifishin517, adam Kenigsberg ex..) this is a great song and for ppl who says its not "Country music" you couldn't be far from WRONG!! In my 34 years on this earth I've heard every type of country song there is and TWO things are deeply rooted in this type of music. 1.) IT tells a story... and this one does. who can't listen to this song and think about the land you grew up on and all the things that have happened while growing up there. playing in the sand, riding your bikes with friends, getting muddy when your out spinning tires in the grass - pissing your parents off... that's what this song represents. and 2.) It takes you back to that place. Like I said before , it takes you back to a place you grew up just take the lyrics You get your hands in it, plant your roots in it Dusty head lights dance with your boots in it (Dirt, dirt, dirt...) You write her name on it, spin your tires on it Build your corn field, whiskey bonfires on it (Dirt) You bet your life on it (Yeah) It's that elm shade, red rust clay you grew up on That plowed up ground that your dad damned his luck on That postgame party field you circle up on And when it rains you get stuck on Drift a cloud back behind county roads that you run up The mud on her jeans that she peeled off and hung up Her blue eyed summertime smile looks so good that it hurts Makes you wanna build a ten percent down white picket fence house on this dirt This is one of my favorite songs by Florida Georgia line just because of the lyrics and the story it tells. Every song in country has its story whether its sad or happy, about heart ache or going out to drink to ease that pain or ... growing up in a place.. back in a time when everything was easier. and the memories are in the one place that can't be erased... the "Dirt" :)
This still gets me every time I listen to it, one of my favorite songs of all time. No matter the good times and the bad, you came from it and you will return from it and the best you can do is love all who come into your life and leave it just as quickly.
This is probably the one song by FGL that I like that's played on the radio. There is a lot of controversy over the mainstream country today, and I tend to be more on the haters side of most arguments. Don't get me wrong- music is subjective, but I try to look at the integrity of what the song is about in correlation to the sound. This song, for example, and many other older country songs like Troubadour by George Strait, sing the ways of life, tells a story, or has some form of country living context usually designates integrity with me. Songs that I find that lack this integrity tend to be, and not limited to, "get with you" songs that say "girl" or "boy" a lot. Songs about chasing tail and not about finding real love. For sound- as long as it has acoustic guitar (bonus for steel guitar), isn't "smacking you in the face" with a beat, and is distinguishable from hip hop stations, I'll take it. Here's a good example of a modern country song that I love and am surprised it's not main stream: Buddy Brown "Why won't you dance"
maverick8806 I just want to say: well said. I've long hated FGL because I hated the song "Cruise", it was way overplayed. This song is completely different. This song is very meaningful to myself for a lot of reasons, and I think their execution of this track is spot on.
"You don't have to see the world to be worldwidth. The world comes right through my window, every day. Even if it is broken" To me, that means that even if people went through misery in life, every day is another day of new chances to learn, to discover and to live your life to the fullest, despite the scars that the past might have given us. Such a great song with a powerful meaning.
This song got me through a tough time in my life. it was on the radio everyday after work driving home. One day I’ll get that white picket fence house ❤
I hope you will get it but with the way women are acting nowadays you might be single if you don't already have a woman that loves you for who you are already.
Florida Georgia Line: hands down the best country band out there. Every time they come on the radio the volume gets a little higher and I drive a little faster.
this is why I listen to country, because it has meaning and a good story to tell. This is a fantastic song to back me up...Great song reminds me of when I go digging for worms to go fish, and my brothers, and family, and friends...great song.
I'm not black but they got me hooked on this kinda music. Always listened to anything from 3six mafia to Pantera but never country. Just wish most of it didn't remind me of the only lady I ever let truely break my heart. ESPECIALLY this song cause first time I heard it she played it for me. Damnit lmao
I have always loved this song, but it hits me differently after my mom's death especially" You know you came from it and one day you'll return to it". I remember listening to it and her singing with me.
It took on a whole new meaning for me too after my uncle Wayne (who was one of my best friends) passed away. I loved it before but after that is when it really hit me.
To those who say typical country song, all about trucks, dirt and beer? What about the stuff you listen to? Cars, women, drugs or depression, anger and revenge? Us country folks don't hate on your music because in fact it is typical just like us. We like typical, we like love, memories, friends, trucks and DIRT. Get over it. We're country.
There's a few from Disturbed that have actually helped people. One of their songs The Light is about not giving up no matter what life throws at you. It helped me through a really rough time. A Reason To Fight is for those who are going through addiction. Don't get me wrong I LOVE country music written and done this way. I miss it. One of my still favorite singers is Clay Walker. I would take his music over the boy bands in the 90s and still will.
Listen, Love Them Or Hate Them. You Can't Deny That These Guys Just Flat Out Kick Ass When They Want Too. I'v Been A Big Fan Of There's Since Cruise And Have Loved Everything Else They've Come Out With And The Fact That Brian Kelley Finally Got Some Real Face Time In A song And Video, Just Makes It All The Better, Because He Rocks Too! Give These Guys Props, There Still Making It, After There Hit Song "Cruise", And Didn't Become A One Hit Wonder, Even In The Face Of All The Negativity And Criticism. I Hope They Keep Making Great Music And Doing What They Love, Because We Love It Just As Much. Thumbs Up If You Want To See Them Continue To Grow As A Band And Do Great Things For Country Music!!
Dawson Dethlefs What's your point as far as the fact that they come out with "Cruise" only 2 years ago?? Just because they haven't been around for 40 years, doesn't mean they aren't talented. Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings,ETC. All started out NEW. Country music itself is starting to change and I believe that artists like FGL and others are on the forefront of the changing music. Just because they aren't the same as everyone else, doesn't make them any less talented or noteworthy. And I'm NOT an idiot. Just vocal with my personal opinion.
I used to listen to rap alot and them all the shit gets old about drugs money and hoes, I dont live that lifeystyle, I started liking country because of florida georgia line and luke bryan. But florida georgia line is my favorite, this song here is very touching and I love it
Dylan The simple life is the good life I work hard and raise a family, unwind with some whiskey in the great outdoors. Clint's badass and Hawk is King.
This song damn near makes you cry. By far the best FGL song, yet. If this is any indication of what we can look forward to on their new album then I'll be in line to get it!
Here's a metalhead who grew up in a country house, listening to this song with tears in his eyes. I'd give anything for a life full of love like this, but here I am pushing 30 slowly realizing I'll never have anything like a lot of people before me have had the pleasure of knowing. It's soul crushing, but beautiful nonetheless knowing at least some people were blessed enough to experience it 💕.
Keep your head up! I'm a metal head who grew up surrounded by cou try music and living and now I sing and play country music. Still rock out some too lol
I’m sending you 🧡💛💚and good vibes to have that.... You probably have more in your heart, even being with that family/house/home that you envision, you can be happy without all of that, it’s just a different life, who knows, someday you just might get that. You never know what’s around the corner...I waited so long for a special guy to come into my life, he did but I’m the one afraid to get that house, marry, and build a life, bc I’m so used to being single or failed relationships. It’s ok to just be. I’m 56 and it’s not that empty without all that but it certainly does something for our souls to have that!
i love this song cause it tells u what life is and the story of life and all the struggles in life and its tell you that you shouldn't be all stuck up in life and be all bratty and rotten and just take a moment and cherish it cause when its gone its gone
Even though this was about a man looking his wife, for some reason this song reminds me of my father that passed away..... a very good song but hard to listen to.
Rosanna Black It also reminds me of my ex who died... Its hard to listen to this too... I was going to hear it again, but I stopped.. Sorry for your loss
***** im sorry for your loss as well losing some one you love is very hard. Amazing song sometime you just have to listen to it to get your emotions out to "cope" with it
this song is so amazing I love it they need to make more country music like this I love Florida Georgia Line but dirt is my all time favorite song they have came out with
then I wouldn’t like todays country music if country music was actually like that, I would stop listening to it for sure I would not be a fan anymore I would not be listening to anymore music
These guys make me sooooo damn nostalgically emotional, I miss these pop country days going out in public with these guys in the background!!!! 🥺❤️🙌🙏😇😌
I'm from a small town in Nebraska, this song reminds me of home the small town life I had to leave behind. The love they show with the actors is something I've always strived for. I can't play this song loud enough
I'm returning today as a disabled veteran from the US Navy and US Federal Civil Service (DOD) after 16 years to my inherited land in West Virginia & North Carolina...it's the only thing I have left after getting left by my ex, and I'm so happy to hang my hat over the dirt that has been in our family since the 1700s.
We played this song at my brothers funeral in 2017. It was one of his favorite songs. He was a 10 year veteran of the United States Air Force. He was only 29 when he took his own life. We love you brother. Missing you a lot this Christmas.
Trying not to cry while listening to this. But this song reminds me of my great grandparents who both passed away on December 1, 2020. My grandma died first then 18 minutes later my grandpa passed. My family says in those 18 minutes grandma was on her way to tell grandpa John "It's time to go" and they both went up to heaven together. I never was close to them but I wish I was. I loved them dearly though. I still miss them... Grandma Carol was strong, funny, kind, best cook, and so sweet. I miss her voice. I miss the conversations her and my mom would have cause my mom loved doing that with her. Grandpa John was funny, stubborn, and sweet too. Everytime us grandkids would go over to see them. He would always cut us up some strawberries or apples. A memory that makes me happy was when we went there one time and grandpa happily said "you kids want some ice cream? There's some in the freeze" the smile on his face made me smile, he did say to also get him one but I couldn't remember how he said it. I really do miss them and I know my mom and aunt really do. I wish I'd gave them a hug the last time I saw them. My Grandma passed away from lung cancer. My Grandpa passed away from Covid-19. R.I.P Great Grandma and Grandpa Cooper 💕 I hope you too are happy together in heaven.
I was never a big fan of country music...but this song cuts so deep

Agreed. Either this or People Back Home.

This song never gets old to me. The older I get, the more it makes me smile and reminisce. Northern Indiana born and raised. Spent years running around on, driving around on, and raising hell on this dirt. Wouldn't trade a day out there with my friends.
This song is of greatness they did great with this
@@wonderfulsoundstohear9306 always awesome to me as well

This song reminds me of home. I may have moved away, but that place will always have a place in my heart.
Great song.
Do what you love. There’s always something I’ve always lived by. If it doesn’t make you happy then there ain’t any point in doin it.
Get back to God's country. City life sucks
Where I was raised we didn't have any stop lights lol
Amen. My brother had this song played at Our Daddy's services when he passed by my parents were together since Momma was13 n him 16 married several years later n started having babies. Bought a house when I was a baby then had one built when I was 10. So this song means a lot to us.
If this song doesn't hit you right in the feels... you ain't got no feels

+Randy Barber so true....
In tears.
I just suprised my wife and took her into our family farm and danced with her.we been fighting to find a place for years. then our farm came up for sale.i bought it back and i hope everthing goes back into place with my life thanks 4 the meaningful song fits my life perfect.
💘
Just purchased 10 acres of dirt for my wife and I its just us and dog but looking forward to having our sons family hopefully grandkids and great grandkids spend some memories here congrats
Awe that’s so sweet
Dude that’s awesome
This song takes me straight back to being a teen up on my grandpas farm. Sneaking out with buddies to go get into some trouble, grandpa dragging me to church on sundays, reminds me of plowing the gardens with him and how hard of worker he was. My roots will always be on that patch of ground. I’ll be buried there when the day comes.
Amen.
If you are here in spring 2020, coming back and listening to the song that started it all for you. That song that you listen to when you are thinking about those summers flooring 100 on a country road with all the buddies in the truck and tossin a football at a bonfire with the other seniors before you graduate. Wow time flies
I think of my grandpa ❤️

I feel ya
Welcome! 😊
OMG same! I started listening to country music when I first heard their song HOLY! Then I searched more country music and I'm inlove
I feel the same😁
U just have to try new things💖
Who cares if they don't sound 100% country. They sound pretty amazing. Not all country music sounds like old country music or older country music. There is definitely a different sound but music progresses and changes just like we do. Love this song.
that´s it
I found my "southern girl" in 2013. She passed last year, suddenly at 46. I think of her often, not every moment because life takes over, but every time I see the stains of that red dirt on my truck or hear this song I break down and cry. I love her, the red dirt and those swimming holes we'd find. God bless those southern girls!
I feel like the more FGL gets popular the more their music goes back to a more classic, story-telling country sound
You know you came from it, Someday you'll return to it.
dirt
Yep
Dirt nap
Damn right.
i admit i've always been skeptical about florida Georgia line and always thought they were the ruin of country music. well, right now I have to turn my head because this song is very awesome. It shows me they can be deep and, despite their success, they have recorded a song with a true country sentiment. I'm really glad, hope this won't be just a song but an indicator of the direction their album will take. great improvement fgl!
drawnmap96 damn good song i had an aunt rosie also perfect song i got to make some decisions soon.
drawnmap96 they never will ruin it they never have they just make it better if anything
This will forever be my favorite song. It is timeless and it always brings out the best emotions
"Built that house way too close to that kitchen"
I might cry here and there cause it's true
Well listen to it again.... You're welcome!
DEEP!!!
@@jordanhermiller9756 Very Deep !!!
This is the best FGL song
debatable. but definitely very good

this helps convert my mistakes into a feeling unexplainable but good. From bad and regret to pain and love thanks FGL
Wow, so much hate in the comments for these guys. I admit I don't know country, but I know good song writing, and this is it.
You cannot please everyone but you're 100% right lol
Let them hate!!great great song!!!
I don't like country but this song. 👍 Actually I like a bunch of country songs for the lyrics.
Now a days people appreciate it
Back when people had some sense and actually spent time with family. The good ol days

Many other artists and type of music followed this path: Swing, Rock Music, Johnny Cash,etc..
the funeral at the end choked me up a lot for just a music video
For me.... possibly the best country song every written......life, love, pain and death.... its where I call home....someday I'll return to it. No one could have sung this song better.
Im from New York City man and this song had me fantasizing about having a family on a farm. Down south somewhere in the peaceful woods.
As a guy who's lived in the country his whole life with no desire to be anywhere else, there's nothing like country life.
RIP JD Souther. Thanks for all the great music!
I don't get why there is so much hate on this song...yeah its about dirt, but so what. it has a deeper meaning behind it, so would you all just watch the video, listen to the meaning behind the lyrics and shut the hell up, my god.
Thanks for standing up for the jerks....great song right?
Yeah. And, the meaning behind it is.... dirt is awesome. AmIright? Can I get a 'hell yeah!' Dirt for the WIN! Own that shit. Love dirt. Little pieces of rock and detritus... and little organisms...
Hell Yeah!!!!!!11!!1!!!
This song has a BEAUTIFUL meaning....If you do not like it, well just don't listen to it!! :)
***** lmao^
Like I said before , it takes you back to a place you grew up just take the lyrics
You get your hands in it, plant your roots in it
Dusty head lights dance with your boots in it
(Dirt, dirt, dirt...)
You write her name on it, spin your tires on it
Build your corn field, whiskey bonfires on it
(Dirt)
You bet your life on it
(Yeah)
It's that elm shade, red rust clay you grew up on
That plowed up ground that your dad damned his luck on
That postgame party field you circle up on
And when it rains you get stuck on
Drift a cloud back behind county roads that you run up
The mud on her jeans that she peeled off and hung up
Her blue eyed summertime smile looks so good that it hurts
Makes you wanna build a ten percent down white picket fence house on this dirt
This is one of my favorite songs by Florida Georgia line just because of the lyrics and the story it tells. Every song in country has its story whether its sad or happy, about heart ache or going out to drink to ease that pain or ... growing up in a place.. back in a time when everything was easier. and the memories are in the one place that can't be erased... the "Dirt" :)
well said!!!!
Damn right
TheHenderson31 but its bubble gum Disney channel type country and that's enough to make real country fans want to puke
AMEN to that! Perfectly described my life growing up. I'm a dirt girl all the way...
this is the song that made me actually start warming up to fgl. so good!!!!
Agreed first song they sung that hade a story and sounded authentic.
I lost my wife of 4 years to a freak plumbing accident and this hits too close to home. Thank you fgl for getting me through this tough time.
"You don't have to see the world to be worldwidth. The world comes right through my window, every day. Even if it is broken"
To me, that means that even if people went through misery in life, every day is another day of new chances to learn, to discover and to live your life to the fullest, despite the scars that the past might have given us. Such a great song with a powerful meaning.
I wish I could im having real trouble moving forward need a guy with a hat to move on with ballaratt Victoria ossie

This song got me through a tough time in my life. it was on the radio everyday after work driving home. One day I’ll get that white picket fence house ❤

this is why I listen to country, because it has meaning and a good story to tell. This is a fantastic song to back me up...Great song reminds me of when I go digging for worms to go fish, and my brothers, and family, and friends...great song.

I hope I'm not the only black man that FGL has converted to country music!! #countryfan4ever.
A good song, is a good song no matter who's singing it.
Enjoy brother 🤙
I'm not black but they got me hooked on this kinda music. Always listened to anything from 3six mafia to Pantera but never country. Just wish most of it didn't remind me of the only lady I ever let truely break my heart. ESPECIALLY this song cause first time I heard it she played it for me. Damnit lmao

I have always loved this song, but it hits me differently after my mom's death especially" You know you came from it and one day you'll return to it". I remember listening to it and her singing with me.

omg, im so sorry... I hope you will one day find that she is in a good place, and there is nothing to worry about :)

She’s loves you so much! She’s waiting for you on the other side 🙏🏻❤️
Love It !

Do you need to capitalize every word?
Cruise was made like 2 years ago lol your a idiot this ain't country it's pop with some rock sang by frat boys
colton outdoorsmen I wanted what I wrote to actually be read and just not over looked.
But florida georgia line is my favorite, this song here is very touching and I love it
City slicker, country girl at heart. Don't care what they say. Country is a state of my mind. Not all of us can afford them acres.
Being country ain't where you from it's how you live

To me that's what country's about the simple life.

Regardless of genre's, this is by far the best song they've ever put out thus far in my opinion.

Never give up! The best way to up your odds of having something like that is to strive every day to be a man that deserves it ;)
I’m sending you 🧡💛💚and good vibes to have that....
This. Is so relatable.
So fucking relatable bro 💀
I wish they come up with more country sounding songs like this often.
i love this song cause it tells u what life is and the story of life and all the struggles in life and its tell you that you shouldn't be all stuck up in life and be all bratty and rotten and just take a moment and cherish it cause when its gone its gone

This song goes pretty deep. It would definitely go down as one of my all time favorites!!!!!
