Great review. I too am a BP lover. I grabbed a TB right away when it came out. Everything you said in your review I agree with completely! I am utterly stoked on this board! Loved it as a quad, FCS2 reactors in large, same as worked in the BP well. Then I put a set of MR twins with the baby center fin and, wow, I'm absolutely stoked! You should try it if you get the chance. Anyway, thanks for sharing your stoke!

Nice job, Mate ... your enthusiasm about this board decided me to order one ... received a couple of days now ... so a TB 6'3"with Machado quad fins will replace my 2001 "plastic" Bic 9' long heavy board ... super exited to try it next spring ... 'll give you (all, hi folks!) some feedback after the first sessions ... and, by the way, your accent is ... phenomenon, love it ... Aloha, salted water lovers !

Hey lasourisverte…. How are you finding the 6’3” TB? I’m keen also on that size, based on not getting in the water as much, so never paddle fit. Does is turn easy? Do you ride as a thruster or quad mainly? Thanks mate, Jason - Melbourne Australia.

Thanks so much for the review! my "shortboard" is 6'2 33l, I could buy a TB 5'5 with 35l, not sure if that will give me much benefit over my current board in paddle power and surf in small waves. however I used to surf a 5'9 Puddle jumper with 38ish litres and that felt kind of odd, I also look stupid trying to turn that board as it is quite big. so since I'm not really a fan of buying those wide groverlers in long sizes.

    Super review, Anton!
1 final question before I buy a TB:
How did it surf is head high to slightly overhead surf?
    How's the feel, control?
Thank you for your expert advice!
    Good health!

Great review! Can’t really justify a TB personally as I have a fairly new BP in helium. Out of interest why do you use a thruster setup as a opposed to a quad. Wouldn’t a quad setup be better for more speed in grovel type waves?

Yeah man - thanks for the review and the stoke on the board! I can't wait to get mine, it is about 2 weeks out. There are none available at least in the 6' 1", but that's okay I can wait 2 weeks based on this review:)! I will probably watch a few times before now and then! Cheers!

@@jamiemacmahan3417 I have both. 5'10 SS and 5'9 TB. The seaside is a high performance fish. Not at much of a wave catcher as the TB but still very good! I think the Seaside is more responsive and lively - i think due to the helium tech, but I think both of these boards can perform in the same conditions. Waist - head high. I would prefer the TB in more junkie conditions as the timber tech has a little more weight to swing through the white water. I also found the TB easier to duck dive as the SS has more foam distributed under the chest. If I had to choose one to keep it would be the seaside (but why not have both :-))

@@akinsl45 Thanks Luke! Great to hear! Well, I am still waiting for the TB. I am considering buying a Seaside in the mean time as I found some in stock. Basically surfing has become my COVID escape and my local vacation. It lets me focus on something new and challenge myself. I have been mountain biking for 25 years. I am ready for a smaller board owing to the beach breaks and just ready. I haven't surfed in 20 plus years, and never really focused on it except catching waves on a long board. I got out of surfing because the longboard though fun isn't as exciting, I could be a better longboarder, but I want more fun in the surfing. I know this goes against the rules, but the rules are meant to be broken. In three weeks, I woke the brain up riding my old 9'6" longboard, then my old mid-size 8 footer, got a high volume 7' 2" -riding that no problem, to a lower (40L) volume 6'8" and finally able to duck dive the lower volume board. I am ready for the smaller board, I am catching waves and too stubborn to give up. I was getting good bottom turns this morning. Hence even more desire for a short board. BTW - how much do you weigh? Thanks again!

@@antonlongman.865 Thanks! Question - am I getting the right size? with the 6'1"? I am 190lbs. I got the TB at 6' 1" as it will be a wave catching machine, but it seems this catches waves with a lower volume, based on Luke? Is the 6' 1" too much, or 5' 11" or even 5' 9". I am able to catch waves, I am really looking for the performance after catching the waves. I recognize the difference of the larger volume paddling and catching waves. Should I get TB in higher or lower volume and Seaside in lower or lower volume (or vice-a-versa)? I welcome any insightful thoughts:)!

Hi mate, thanks for the review. I’m thinking of getting a groveler for my quiver. Do you feel this board would also go well at the 6’3” size? I’m not much of a quad guy, so was pleased to see you ride and enjoy as a thruster. Fingers crossed I can find one. Cheers

@@troppotardi I am 210lbs and looking to get a TB. I think the 5'9" would be perfect for me but they only have a 5'7" and a 5'11" at the shop. Hate to go too big or too small but I am leaning toward the 5'7". Based on your comment I think lower volume is the way to go, don't want it to be completely on top of the water and not be able to dig into the wave on turns. Duck dive-a-bility is also a factor.

@@antonlongman.865 I see you reviewed the seaside and cymatic as well. I sold my seaside recently as although i loved the board i found i wasn't getting enough waves. I am thinking the TB design with the extra volume will help get me more waves. I love the the cymatic for cleaner conditions so that board is a keeper!. In fact i love the Tomo QISC designs. They are just SOOO fast! All that speed gives you lots of options, which is why i have ordered another evo. The Evo has to be one of the best boards i have ever owned however i got the sizing wrong. I rode a 5 11 for a year and when i was really fit & my padding was really strong i got lots of waves and i surfed the board well. When i wasn't fit i struggled with wave count. Keep frothing dude!
