    Bringing your boldest self to your biggest challenges.
    Presence - being able to access and express our best qualities and boldest self in situations that tend to be very stressful.
    Social judgment - the times when we most need to be present but when we seldom are.
    Carry ourselves with a sense of pride and openness physically. When we do this it sends a signal to our brain that we are comfortable and powerful.
    Reframing - learning how to see these otherwise stressful situations, not as threats but opportunities.
    Expanding the body for as little as 2 minutes can make you feel more powerful, more in charge and behave more assertively.
    The body prepares the mind to better perform. (power poses)
    This helps one to exhibit more presence.
    Anything that is expansive could be a power pose.
    The victory pose - arms up in a vee
    The super hero pose - arms on your hip and feet apart, shoulders back
    Feet on the desk (CEO pose) with hands behind the head
    Collapsing and closing up the body is not good.
    Trama even psychological lives in the body
    These are powerless poses
    How you carry your body is affecting how you carry out your interactions in the world.
    How I walk tells much about how I see myself.
    Become aware of the body. What is happening in your mind just before the body begins to collapse or close up?
    In the moment, you start to feel your body collapse FORCE your shoulders back and down and slow your breathing down -breathe deeper - Pause (pausing is a vulnerability)
    Show a confident and open posture - not domineering.
    I-Hunching - makes you feel more closed-off, alone and sad.
    Text neck is the term used to describe the neck pain and damage sustained from looking down at your cell phone, tablet, or other wireless devices too frequently and for too long.
    Pay attention to your posture throughout the day because even when you aren't participating you are still sending signals to your brain.
    Own the narrative about who you are as it produces much better outcomes.
    Sadness is a low arousal negative emotion.
    Anxiety is a high-arousal negative emotion.
    Excitement is a high-arousal positive emotion.
    Calmness is a low arousal positive emotion.
    Reframe your anxiety as excitement. Use the energy positively.
    Self-affirmation theory - when you're self-doubting it's not good to tell yourself something that you don't believe already. Make it so that you won't have to fake it.
    Affirm your core values. You affirm something to be perfectly true about who you are.
    Anchor yourself in the Truth. Affirm the things that you feel most connected to.
    Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances. You are a child of God. Stand up straight.

    How great is this book??? This and Olivia Fox Cabane's book on Charisma are invaluable to review before high anxiety social events. Some people say, "Either you have it or ya don't", but I think these books and the like are helpful for introverts, etc. So I love them!!!
