      Naples yellow and cobalt violet. I wrote it down because I loved it so much too! ❤️❤️

      Yup, Love and Life is right, it is cobalt violet, although now I wonder what will happen if I mixed mineral violet and naples yellow ;) I'm sure it will be lovely too!

      I have another version of same thing that I use:
      Brilliant yellow (juane) plus crimson lake.
      (recently found that quin. Scarlet of holbein makes very beautiful shade too with same yellow. )

    I’ve watched this, probably, 5 times this week. I love the colors you chose and how you separated your neutrals from the bright colors so much, I can’t get enough of watching!

    I love this palette. I just noticed the heart that appeared in the mahogany brown Schmincke swatch. Very cool

    Oh my, I have so much to learn! Lol! I am filling my first ever personal pallet with Daniel Smith paints in shades that I think I will like. I assume as I use them I will find the colors I really like to use the most. I enjoyed hearing about your paints and look forward to seeing the new Rembrandt colors you are getting!

      Thanks Susan! Glad you enjoyed! Yes, watercolors are incredible, so much to learn and explore! I do recommend picking up just a couple of new colors at a time (and if you can manage that, I salute you ;) ), so you can explore them properly :)

    My strategy is to pick the colors based on the painting that I am going to paint and put them into a box and then I use that. So I pick the set of colors from the colors I have.

      @@iritlandgraf yes we are all different.
      Btw do try jaune brilliant no 2 plus crimson lake combination. It is similar to your Naples yellow plus algirin crimson combi.
      I find it beautiful combination. (actually was nice to see you liked similar thing too)

    the palettes look so damn gorgeous 💖💝❤️💕💗
    along the lines of vegan watercolours based in europe, have you ever tried the lukas 1862 range? jackson's claim them to be vegan and for just under 10gbp per 24ml tube they honestly seem like a bargain. heard lots of good things about their student grade and honestly considering the purchase regardless of the crazy shipping fees to australia. would love to hear your thoughts on them. :D

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Tristine! I have only tried one pan of Lukas, cobalt teal, as the price was great for this expensive pigment, and I really enjoy it! I will have to pick up some more in the future, as along with Royal Talens's Rembrandt and Van Gogh, they are European and vegan 😁 I hear you on shipping fees... Ouch! I rarely order from outside the EU these days, precisely because of that (and custom charges...)!

    • @miriamkorczak4738
      @miriamkorczak4738 4 роки тому

      Use Lukas1862 mainly because it‘s vegan, widely available here in Germany and it‘s inexpensive but does a very decent job in my opinion. All my paintings are made with them (you can see them on my Instagram, also if you have more questions feeling free to reach out) 😊

    Wow! Look at that ‘non-Irit’ colored color palette!! Ha’ just kidding, I know you explained why, and they are you, but not “you!” Ha! I recently discovered that the color mustard is my most used when coloring...I use it to shade browns, Golds, yellows and oranges! But it’s definitely not a ‘me’ color! Lol!

    Steve mind of watercolor 's favorite is MGraham neutral tint and it's beautiful

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks Sabiha! Yes, I've seen the pigments in the M Graham version and there's no black which is a huge plus in my book, I'm sure it's a beautiful color. However, sadly M Graham is not vegan, so won't be purchasing. I do have some tubes I bought years ago, and for studio work (as opposed to travel palettes because it's such a sticky paint) I love them :)

    Interesting color choice. I might try it as a challenge. I have a question about the potters pink- have you tried the Winsor and Newton version? I am stuck between choosing schmincke or WN for potters pink.

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  3 роки тому

      Some people love the W&N version, for me it was a bit dry once out of the tube, perhaps their pan formula is better... Schmincke has a great formula but the color is a little different, a bit less pink. Not sure it helps but I prefer the shade from W&N and the formula from Schmincke 😀

    • @chaoticgood8645
      @chaoticgood8645 2 роки тому

      Ik this is a much older comment, but in case you haven't already decided, I've heard you can add glycerin to your paints (if you like to dry them in pans rather than use them from the tube everytime) and it helps the consistency. Maybe that could be an option with the WN potter's pink so you keep the color with a less dry consistency
