I've got a 2015 xp 1000 and I'm high gear it's hitting the Rev limiter and only doing 45mph im going to take a look at that spider nut this week and see if that's loose thanks for the video!
I believe so... 2019 polaris rzr xp 4 1000... and I purchase the SLP 20-229 holding tool reciever mount... the Xs on my primary line up except the back sheeve... the spider assembly is turned past the X on the back sheeve
@@benmiller8178 I did attempt it myself. I was able to leave the clutch on. I just removed that front plate along with those 6 bolts that hold it on. and tightened the spider nut back up. No issues.
@@stevebollman most likely, that’s what mine did, it’s like it’s completely maxed out in RPM at around 60mph. You could probably take your belt cover off, and look in the primary clutch, and be able to see if the spider nut has backed off or not.
@@BDUBSOFFROAD that was my problem exactly. I called the dealership that I got it from and the took it apart, and found the spider nut all but back completely off. Picked it up earlier today and it runs fine. Thank you for the update

That's a good place to start looking
Hey man, my Rzr is also doing the same thing. It’s a 2017 and doesn’t go more than 45 mph. What did you end up finding in yours?
Great video. What is the part number for the spider tool that you used to remove the spider and hold the clutch in the vise. Thanks!
There should be a link in the description!
Had an issue with preventing my primary from spinning on the slp holding tool... any help would be greatly appreciated!
You sure you got the right one for your machine?

Can you tighten the spider nut without tearing it as far down as you did? Just remove the clutch and tighten it?
Curious about this too… having the same issue

@@BDUBSOFFROAD thanks for the update. I just got a 2019, and it hits a "limiter" at 60mph. Seems like my spider nut may be loose as well???

If you turn the primary clockwise you can screw up your timing on the engine use an impact
Appreciate the info
My rzr 1000 red lines when it hits 50 and power steering light turns on. Everyone telling me it’s the spider nut what do you guys think.
That would be a good place to start looking.
Ricky Bobby lookin like a straight up hippie 😁
wow, if your timing wasnt off after turning that primary clockwise like that then you guys got lucky. Other than that great video !
Timing was fine, thanks!
Great job guys. Thank you! God Bless your video is excellent.
Thanks!
