You know, among that long list of "Old projects that were fun at the time but oooooh man oh man", there's an awful lot of clamp spring crossbows that need successful grandkids to keep the legacy alive... Love what you do brother!
13:10 a word of advice: if you want to clean your sanding belts properly without buying special eraser check if you have a tube of silicone caulk that has dried out inside. That block of silicone will work for cleaning belts like a big eraser. If you don’t have an expired tube of caulk you can buy fresh one and pour it in a cup or a can.
i just had a google around an they seem to be very similar prices( proper belt sander erasers were 10-15$aud vs a tube of silicone is 6-12 $aud) great idea!
@@tpoad0079 yea but an eraser is usually bigger than a tube of caulk and no hastle. Cool tip but seems like an even trade still. Good use for hardened caulk though
@@nateaulddepending on where you live that eraser can be more expensive than caulk and much harder to find. Caulk is usually available in pretty much any home improvement store, even a small one.
Every once in awhile it feels like Eli hits a turning point in his life that gets reflected in his videos. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse, but that's just life. Brother ever since you became a family man it feels like you've stepped into your role as a true leader. Your recent videos are so positive and encouraging, and with this series it's like you're coming to terms with where you started and who you used to be. Not many people can let go of that insecurity and accept that where you started is not what matters. I'm excited to see where you go from here, and just want you to know that you've always inspired the rest of us to grow and improve, even if it's just a little since yesterday.
13:36 might be the most cinematic scenes I've ever seen you make, and I've been here since the start. Glad to see you're still kicking it Eli! Keep improving, and may god be with you.
14:49 i would agree with the assessment that you could’ve done better BECAUSE despite how beautiful this looks, you are so *incredibly* talented and you could absolutely kill this if you did it again
Its so weird seeing these throwback videos. I feel like ive grown up with you. I remember being like 14 looking up homemade weapon tutorials on youtube and coming across non-lethal by choice. I turn 28 next week and i still tell myself that one day i might follow one of these step by step guides and try to build something myself. Thanks for keeping at it and being as entertaining as you are the whole time. Above all else, thanks for being a decent human being (as far as i can tell)
Bro I remember your first videos. I was young too and still found all of your builds cool. The saw blade launcher though, that thing was insane. Never gonna stop watching.
I've said it many times before, but the PVC and fiberglass driveway marker bow era was my favourite and how I found your channel back in the day. I am very excited for you to eventually revisit them for this series.
Watching ZNA since i was a kid. Now im watching ZNA as my newborn sleeps just across the room. Born today. Thanks for all the grwat content over the years brother. Keep on
Man I gotta say. I love how far you've come and how your growing both as a person and in the videos you make, but at the same time, your keeping the same kind of vibe aesthetic. I watched you when I was younger and hearing the same music is just nostalgic. Thank you for the good memories and the enjoyable videos
Do something with so little for so long, and you can learn to do anything with nothing. Eli does it best. Man, if I had the time, I'd do it like this. Even after fourteen years, I'm still invested in everything Eli does. I haven't missed a video yet. Stray simply not from a path that leads to the ease of life; create, instead, a challenge to overcome thyself and all other difficulties. Much love, Eli - we love everything you do!
One of your videos got me started in blacksmithing. You made a forge from a hole in the ground. It inspired me. Since then, I've made at least 100 knives. Probably more. Thank you sir
I used to watch your stuff all the time when i was a kid, the grappling hook and bow and arrow videos were the coolest thing ever. Im so happy to see you’re still making content
The algorithm hid you from my algorithm all through COVID. I used to watch you years ago and am still subscribed. But forgot about you. Remembered you tonight and looked for your and I'm so impressed with your growth. You were doing things years ago I wanted to watch and learn to do too. Now you're a master craftsman and it's so impressive!
I don't know why but the shot at around 8:59 with the dim background natural light just looks great. Also the way the edge of the blade pops out at 13:37 is just 👌
So weird. I found this channel around the first time i made a knife from junk around the house. I just recently got back into making fun weapons because i too just got that same grinder. Just made a knife like my first one this last couple weeks. So glad i found your channel again. It's nice to see how far you've come.
Man, been watching your videos since your homemade weapons videos. Haven’t really watched that much since like 5 years ago, saw this pop up today and was glad to see it. Glad to see you sticking with your dreams and just wanted to say thank you for all the videos and work you’ve put in for so long man
Dude I just randomly thought about you today because it’s been a few years since I watched your videos. But I was there for it all. I watched your videos at like 14-15 dreaming of having a toilet furnace. Making knives. The saw blade things were always my favorite. I’m so happy to see you’re still uploading. And perfect timing with this series. Much love man. Thank you for being such a pivotal part of high school for me.
I've been rewatching your videos in preparation for this series. I think we all deserve a saw blade slinger or OG Warhammer recreate. Those designs were super cool and interesting back then, so who knows what you could do with them now. God bless.
I once found one hundred thousand gold marks in a bag in the park… changed my life. I took those gold marks, invested them and turned them into 16,000 gold marks.
i gotta say i have been on and off your channel for years now, back when you were on the chair at your old place, glad to still be a subscriber to this day
One of the most important parts about welding is planning out your welds, this also includes soldering. I have not used soldering all too much, but I have made some good looking copper jewelry for a lady "friend". One of the things to keep in mind as a top priority, for example having it as part of a checklist. Is "where can you hide it the best?" Solder on jewelry for example looks pretty nasty if not hidden pretty good. All of this is to say that it would probably have been better to solder it from the base of the tang on the handle side. If you want it to gripp really good and you have some nice flux you can even file in some hidden grooves in the parts for the solder to fill (that also increases surface area that the solder can grip onto). Think about making a general priority list of something like 3 steps, that's enough to get a great workflow and not so much that you end up over-thinking. If done as so the solder would not have been visable, I don't think that it looks bad as is, but if you are close to a perfectionist, like me. Then it could probably save you a tiny bit of annoyance and generate a bit more pride in some of your projects. I have followed you since you made your first "homemade weapons", you have been a great inspiration and almost like a big brother to me through the years. Thank you.

Hi Eli
You know, among that long list of "Old projects that were fun at the time but oooooh man oh man", there's an awful lot of clamp spring crossbows that need successful grandkids to keep the legacy alive...
Love what you do brother!
Ayyy sponsorship coming through🎉
Is alpha mail still open because I want to send you things
I recall Burny Sander from a while ago. I did not anticipate Explodie Sander to be his next of kin.
You gotta redeem yourself for that weak karambit you made all those years ago.
And the wrench balisong
Hey cmon that was freakishly sharp and it’s supposed to be a small blade😂
Haha yeah gota erase the shame
Man it feels like just yesterday watching the video for the first time when he uploaded it. How time flies
😂
Has wood working sander: Does metal work with it
Buys new metal working sander: Does wood working with it
I came here to comment this lmao
i saw that too lmao
I’m pretty sure the goal there was the guard being ground down rather than the wood
I remember that video from when I was but a youngling.
I've watched zna since i was a child. I'm now three years into university (slightly less a child). I love you man 🫶🏾 don't die or talk to kids plz
real
If Eli turned out to be a predator I'd lose faith in every single one of my heroes. He's literally the last person I'd ever believe could do that
Real. First of his vids I watched was the razor blade swords from 8 years ago. Jesus it’s been a long time
same here i’m two years out of high school and these videos have been a constant staying thing in my life since i was in like second grade
Real

Theres a starrrrrrmaaaaaann waiting in the sky
The shot of you polishing the blade with the secondary bevel gleaming in the light is actually so sick

Completely agree!! I literally thought the same thing as I saw the glimmer run up that blade.
I was thinking the same thing - the thin, glinting edge contrasting in the scene? Absolute cinema
Bro it's 4 AM and I haven't slept yet. But ain't no way I'm waiting for this one
9,000% agree on the brass/gold & black combo. Gotta be one of the hardest duos in colors history
Those throwing squares seemed bigger when you made them, but I guess that's just what happens when you find the cure for smallpoc.
That trick with the clamp was pretty neato
So glad you're still making videos! I always watch them over and over!
I love the revisiting old projects arc of this channel. Never stop flexing on your old self
Out of all the role models we could have had growing up it was definitely a blessing that you ended up being a big one for all of us

Funniest thing about you thinking you were "bad" and "the stuff" is my 10 year old self thought you were too 😂😂😂
same, man 😂
I love to see how far you've come. Your technique, your design, your editing, it all has come so far. Thank you for continuing to do this
Yo, thanks for showing a comparative difference between a hardened and non-hardened piece of steel. It's the little things. Very nice.
All these years later and he still doesn’t have a proper forge. Gotta respect the dedication to the jank

my only suggestion here is some sort of lip or nub on the handle to stop the knife slipping backwards in your hands when you stab something.

I love seeing how far you’ve come from the beginning
I saw that video when I was in middle school, now I’m in college n I’m still hyped about these videos
A SPONSORRRRRR!!!!! THATS MY UA-camR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man it’s so great to see my boy after all these years! Keep it up, man! 👍
Looks absolutely stunning imo

I love you bro just came back after years ur doing so well man keep it up
I've been watching you for years man and it's always a great day when you post.

If your remaking projects why not remake some of your old armour
maybe with some cleaner(clearer) tutorials for those of us wanting to make our own? ;)
I'm always happy to see a post of my favorite blacksmemeith
What a blast from the past.
