1:22 green thing is I believe a grease fitting which makes it even better. You can keep the bearing well lubricated without the need of disassembly. Pretty EPIC eh?

If you can pull that off..." You can go further with this; the Chinese ballistas had 3 prods, not just two. Good luck! I hope there's at least one more of these builds, you have me hooked!
I've been watching you for a while and ive enjoyed your videos immensely. I'm a professional welder and I have to say, there are 12 year Olds that can make better welds than I, and there are also 60 year Olds that still weld bird poop every time. You should absolutely be proud of those welds. Never stop bb!!!

Cool build! I also used a caster for my slingshot ballista. Though you could reduce spatter by adjusting your stick-out and travel speed. You can also reduce spatter while welding those bolts by grinding off the layer of zinc galvanized to them.

Eli for your welding buy this product called Spatter Mist. You just spray it on before welding and it keeps any weld spatter from sticking to the final product
You seem to be the only american diy youtuber that seems to make stuff in a way so it actually holds and is stable. Putting a lot of pressure on glued joints by putting in a lot of screws, welding nicely and not overturning screws that first go through metal… a nice sight for an european carpenter. Keep it up!

The green plastic bit is covering the grease nipple. many bearings are shipped without lubrication to avoid shipping costs for flammable substances, so you may want to check. routine maintenance requires adding grease to the bearing after a number of hours in an industrial, dusty or wet environment. Love your builds and humor.

I’d guess the green things on the pillow block bearings are plastic covers that cover grease zerks. 1:20 for greasing your bearings.
