Great videos. I have a VS 640 dual CMYK I am missing nozzles in one of the blacks, it is a repeated pattern in multiple spots throughout. All my other black and all the colors are fine. Weird thing is it seems to be printing black ok even though its missing a ton of nozzles on the one side. It has been a little while since I put a cap top on it. I just put a new rubber wiper on, it was pretty bad. It looks to need a felt as well which I just ordered today. I did a head soak and a few different levels of power clean and noticed it actually got worse, but just on that one black bank. Everything else is perfect. Would that indicate cap top? Thanks for your time.

Hey man learning a lot from your videos. I’ve been hunting an issue I’ve had from day one of a used sp-300. I’ve been throwing parts at it. Just replaced manifold today. My issue is magenta mixing with my yellow.
I thought it was due to clogged line over and over but it wasn’t.
Any idea what could be causing the magenta to back up in to the yellow?

Typically the problem is usually a captop issue or damper. Make sure you are using oem captops. Aftermarket dampers are ok

@@reprint217thanks. I don’t know if they were oem or not when I bought them. How do I know if I’m buying oem ?

Great videos! How do you clean the ink lines at the damper end? I try to draw it out without the damper on and nothing comes out of 4 lines. (2 magenta, yellow and maybe light cyan) I replaced all my ink lines when I switched from white/silver to cyan/ magenta but I still had problems. Unfortunately, it sat for the last 6 months (kept getting error code 0109 and spotty inks). I have continued to keep the head soaked so I believe that is fine, I do not have the choke installed any more ( the tech when he replaced the lines disconnected it) but all the parts are there if I need to reconnect.

Have you pulled your lines from the ink needle? Possibly the needles are clogged in the cartridge bay

Also, I have had machines with the choke valve bypassed, have seen this many times and be very careful when messing with the head. I choked one off and assumed it was choked and destroyed a brand new head.

@@reprint217 unfortunately I do not have anything small enough to go over the needle. Do you have a suggestion for the tubes that attach to the damper top?

Story of my life. When replacing a head, it either goes smoothly or terribly wrong.
Sometimes its aftermarket dampers, they are hit and miss. Choke valve issue, ink tubing getting air... so many possibilities. It's really just narrowing it down.

I just bought a VersaCamm VS 540i and it was sitting in storage for years so the head was probably dry as heck. I've tried 2 long term head soaks. The first head soak did help it help bring back about 25% of the missing nozzle check marks but I still have about 40% missing lines especially on yellow magneta and cyan. What else do you recommend to do? Should I keep trying more head soaks? How do I know when its just time to replace the head?

Hi there, I have a roland XR640. Yellow just drop off on one head, all the other colours are like new... Had damper changed. No difference. Any suggestions?
It was fine during a print, then it drop off on the next set for about 2 lines of stickers, then came back 100% on the 3rd line and then on the next set it just stopped again.
No yellow on the damper after normal cleans, yellow comes thru little on the powerful clean, but no yellow at all on that head on test print.
