Yes, they are wearable items. Over time it will provide less suction on cleanings or the wiper blade will be less effective. So they are replaceable items. Thanks for watching.
I have a problem changing the color cartridges. I cannot take them out. What should I do? They are stuck Thank you and epson stylus pro 7600best regards
Thanks, I have tried everything and have checked all my software. I have done good quality photo printing for a number of years and can't figure out why things have changed. I might change out the dampers to see if that helps
Thank you for the teardown video! I'm currently trying to figure out why my MK nozzle check keeps showing random patterns. I've taken apart my head and did a flush as well as removing the MK/PK damper switch and flushing it. I'm still having the same issue with the MK not displaying a complete nozzle check pattern. Any suggestions or ideas as to why this is happening? Does the P800 suffer from airlock in the dampers?
So glad I found your channel thanks for the great videos.. just found a stylus pro 3000 at a thrift store for 20$ Last week. The ink cartridges had a a 2008 stamp on it so every line was extremely clogged but Basically I was able to unclogg all the lines the first day except for the magenta which after 5 days of soaking in cleaner it's finally ready to reassemble. Just wondering since I also had to clean out those rubber white hoses, what's the safest process after I reassemble it to get the ink back from the carts? I spent this long on cleaning I don't wanna screw it up now lol. Thanks again for the valuable info :)
In this video you manually disengaged the print head carriage from the capping station. I can’t seem to figure that out. Can’t move the carriage clear of the capping station as it seems locked. What am I doing wrong?
Perfect video, quick question. I saw in the video after putting windex, capping station drained all the windex. it shouldn't be full of windex to keep print head wet? thank you
HI MY FRIND I have an Epson p800 printer. I cleaned the head after that it worked once and then it showed the code 011A after that it opens but the blue color keeps blinking and the main computer screen does not open
Hello, wondering if you could help me with a stubborn problem I am having with my epson 3880 printer. I have had it disconnected from a computer for about a year, (moving and storage). I just recently tried to reconnect to a newer computer (running windows 10 version 21H2). But regardless of what I try I cannot get it to work with the computer. I can print a test page (nozzle check) using the manual inputs on the printer, and run a cleaning. But I cannot run a nozzle check using the computer utility. I am able to ‘add’ a printer, but it does not seem to be able to do it all automatically. I have to manual select the ‘port’, and have tried quite a few different ones. I have tried different usb cables just in case that was the issue, but to no avail. And oddly, I have both a 7880 and 9880 which work fine after having upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on the same computer system. I have never had the 3880 working with this computer before. It was attached to an older computer running windows 7. When I tried to connect back to the old computer running windows 7, the same problem occurred. Have no idea why it worked before for years, and then would not work afterwards, I have run the 'trouble shooter many times, and it always says 'it was not able to resolve the issue'. Also when I try to download the drivers, I am not able to do it automatically, it forces me to do it manually going through the process of choosing which printer port to use, I usually choose the one that I am using for the 7880 or 9880. Again I can ‘add’ a new printer on the old computer, but when I try to run a nozzle check using the ‘utility’, it says, ‘error unable to run nozzle check’. When I try to access other utilities such as status of ink levels, it states ‘unable to communicate with printer’. I have tried numerous times to remove the printer (3880), and delete all the drivers and reinstall them, but nothing seems to help. I have even tried to use the original disc that came with the 3880, and it will not work either. Hopefully you can offer some solutions, or direct me to where I might find some direction on how to fix this. Sorry for the long post, but I am at the end of my wits (the little I had left).
Hi I did a swap of the pump cap and also the dampers (You;re video was so helpful - thanks) but now seem to be getting no inkflow through the head on my DTG - any ideas and help would be awesome - thanks
Andy, give me some more information. Which printer are we talking about, which head, Any errors at all? What led you to swapping the capping station and dampers to start with? How was the nozzle check prior to doing it?
@@planetpodcast5607 Hi its a 3800 based dtg. Print quality dropped, to very muddy print, looked like hardly any white channels.magenta had been bad all day. Power cleans weren't achieving much. I had the printer idle probably 2 weeks before this. Last time I had a drop in performance like this it was the pump cap. So I swapped that over and also decided to grow a pair and swap out dampers. So I had a brand new pump cap assembly so I figured maybe the used one was bad so I swapped that. I've never tackled dampers before but the new ones had no ink in them still so I swapped whole damper assembly from a spares 3880 I had. Still nothing when I try to print. New capping station looks way too clean still Not sure what I've done but wish I hadn't! Got people waiting on shirts now
Thanks for you video.I have an Epson 3880. Just recently I have notice that when making reprints of images I made a few months ago that my prints are coming out lacking the proper color saturation and the color prints look sort of muddy. I have done several print head cleanings and can see my print test page look very light but the nozzle check sheet looks good. The inks in my unit are a couple of months outdated. I have had the printer a number of years and it has had steady use but certainly not heavy use. Where should I start it looking for a solution to my printer problem? Do certain parts need to be replace due to age?
If you are printing with OEM carts , like actual photos on photo paper I couldnt really tell ya. The Dampers do need to be replaced as the filters will clog and limit ink flow , If your nozzle check is good then odds are its the software you are printing it from that needs adjustment.
@@planetpodcast5607 You were right. I found that my Epson driver did not automatically update. Updating to the latest driver resolved my problem. Thanks.
As always, thanks a lot for your videos, very helpful. Is there any way for suck ink through the damper to fill it? when I try, the system feels pressurized and I can't suck ink. Of course the printer is unplugged.
Yes, if we are talking the 3880/3800 series it does need to be pressurized, printer on, head disengaged. You can remove the damper assembly from the carriage and suck the ink through it. If the carts are not pressurized it will not allow ink to flow through into the dampers
I get that one sometimes, if I restart the printer with the head undocked in the center it will go away, if not you may have an issue with the C1 cable to the head carraige
My 3800 stopped printing. it goes through the motions like it is printing but no ink to paper. It has been cleaned and it is pumping ink. The last thing it did was print half a photo and then all white. What could it be? I also have another 3800 that won't print at all at either won't take paper or if it does it just shoots it right through. Any ideas on that?
@johndromeshauser in my experience with my free jet that is a printhead problem. for some reason it's not getting the signal to actually spray ink. I had a damaged motherboard on mine and while it would act like it was going to print no ink would come out. I had to replace that main board and ultimately the printhead. I have not experienced this with the 3880, however I have replaced all of these parts in that machine due to other errors. have you removed the printhead? are you just checking the waste ink container for extra ink after head cleanings? how do you know it's pulling ink through all of it?
