I would NEVER use ADT as had them in the past and were JUNK for what they charge! Now they use Google products and those don't have a great track record either! Vivant is the MAC-DADDY system but REQUIRES a professional to install it and anytime you want to add to it ALSO requires a tech guy to come out to install! Also they are VERY PRICEY! Personally I do NOT want anyone snooping around my home checking out EVERYTHING I own and where it's located in todays day and age of theft and crime!
I have had Ring products in my home for years and have never had a problem. I love that I can set custom motion zones on their cameras. I installed a Simplisafe system at my Mom's house about 6 months ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. The devices have disconnected from the base station 4 times in those 6 months. Each time I have to remove the devices from the app then re-install them. The picture quality of the cameras are terrible compared to Ring and they don't allow custom motion zones. As I am typing this I am preparing to go to Mom's house and replace her Simplisafe junk system with a new Ring system. The Simplisafe system will be going in the trash.
My opinion is that if you care more about cameras, go with Ring. If you care more about home security features such as having a security company rep speak to potential intruders, go with Simplisafe.
