- Took a drive up to the Tofte/Lutsen/Grand Marais area to explore some backroads and try out the McLean Hammock Hitch I procured. Had my eye on one for a while now so that I can hang when and where I want and no need for trees.
So this was a Jeep camping get-out-of-town 2 day romp.
Good time to see what condition the woods were in. Snow and mud. Expected.

I finally bought a true winter tarp, and thought I had all I will ever need. Now I have to tell the wife I need to get a JEEP. Dammit!....Waiting for you to pull a ladder and the unicycle out...
A couple of dogs destroyed my UGQ Winterdream tarp. 😪
My unicycles are in hiatus...got me a mountain bike. Retired it all!
@@shugemery I can't find a mountain bike to save my life. A hardtail with front air suspension and a dropper post. Not a kids bike but not overly advanced.

Very strange I have never met you but you have been such an influence on me getting into hammock camping and different gear over the years. I was in my hammock the past two nights and I asked myself a couple times how would or how did Shug do this on a couple different things. You are in a very strange way like an old friend. The true joys of car camping is bringing an espresso machine! Nice jeep! During my earlier days, we camped at least 3 times a year in Big Sur. It was so beautiful up there. I always thought the best part was setting up camp, putting everything in it's own special place. Haven't gone in many years but seeing your trips helps me remember all the fun we had. Lovely daughter!

I've got the same white jeep, and I previously installed a hitch. I may need to get one of those - to use at the end of my driveway, because I don't have suitable trees in the yard. I just contacted Aerial to try to get myself on the wait list for a hat. Thanks for taking us along on another trip.

Im LOVING this addition of the Jeep to your outdoor experience and for sharing it with us. I saw an older Bumper Hammock mount but wasn't very impressed at all. This one looks much better, and I like the way you rigged the tarp up.
