RIP Gary Rossington 1951-2023. Thank you for the great song, Fly high Free Bird brother. Long live Lynyrd Skynyrd!
I have been out in camp up in Nunavut and just got back a couple days ago. I didn’t even know rossington passed till last night. Skynyrd was the reason I picked up a guitar. Goddamn this sucks.
This really drove home that Gary is gone. Skynyrd is gone too. Sad days. But great music lives on.
Beautiful song 😊
Fly free 😢❤❤❤
😢 a reunirse con sus hermanos de banda vuela alto
We still need to see Paul Rodgers in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!!!
Paul Rodgers is the greatest 70's era R&B, soul meets hard rock singer in the world!!! He looks and sounded great!!!
Agreed - and Joe Cocker
If Bad Co ain't in the Hall of Fame, why have one?
I'm almost 58 years old and still dumbfounded as hell that Paul Rodgers and Bad Company aren't in the Rock Hall. Unbelievable!!
Oh goddamn he's not in the rrhf??!!!! Dddddamn that's wrong on so many levels........!!!!!!!
This was an awesome unexpected surprise to see Mr. Paul Rodgers, Winona, LeAnn, Slash, Billy Gibbons and Warren Haynes. 😊
How many people can imagine having Wynonna and LeAnne as backup singers!!!! Hell yeah 💯👍❤️
Hell yeah! You’re SO RIGHT!!!
oh yeah!!! 2 of my favorite country female artists on back up
Clearly bio males
Hell Yeah
Slash and Billy Gibbons has GOT to be the BEST team up I have EVER seen!!
Warren Haynes damn good to!
Damn true
And they'll play together again in the new Slash album.
May god bless Lynyrd Skynyrd forever.
Hell yeah, 2023, from MI.....😊
Greatest Southern Rock Band Ever!
I think God did enough back in 77,or was that, not enough?
❤
If that plane had only been retired one stop earlier. They had a Gulfstream waiting, or something, and they could have been at the 23 CMAs cutting thru.
No one can sing like Ronnie, the original Lynyrd Skynyrd! 🇺🇸
Greg Allman could’ve sing that song
Cojo got goddamn close I'll be a die hard Ronnie fan till the day I die but omg Cody got ghostly close
Yes this is right.
And same is with Bon Scott, he died to young and nobody can sing songs from AC / DC like Bon Scott
That stage is full of guitar gods!!!
Paul Rodgers amazing singer of all time ❤️💓💓 such a great tribute by all of them
Thank you CMT for giving Lynyrd SkynyrdTheir flowers 💐 💐💐💐 they were amazing
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. Hello
Great job by all of these performers, Slash is so humble and a true gentleman, played it close to the original, never tried to outshine anyone, and showed pure respect
Whatever
He isn't good enough to play it like the orignal
Old school shit.
@@lovekandy61 are stupid or something LOL
Pretty bad
At every party, at every celebration, at every concert, no matter how amateur. As soon as you play the intro of Sweet home Alabama, people stand on the tables. This song has something magical
Slash and Billy Gibbons on the same stage is BLOWING my mind!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I’m over here ugly crying ❤
And one of the greatest singers of all time Paul Rodgers.
Common
@@scamtoons he needs to retire
Exactly what I was thinking
@dybamx no he doesn't, not for you to say either
HOW COOL IS THAT - -LONG LIVE LYNYRD SKYNYRD ! ! !
Long live Skynyrd. Greatest band ever. GREAT TRIBUTE 👍
Probably one of the greatest messages any song has every delivered. Listen to the words and walk the walk!
Got to see this in person. It was epic.
I am a proud Jacksonville, FL native...home to Skynyrd. Forever proud of them. Thanks for my lifetime of listening to your music.
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. How are you?

Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
So good to hear and see Paul Rodgers. Great tribute!!!!
My daughter got to see this live. Lucky girl. Her first concert was Rush. Her parents raised her right.
First concert was Rush! Lucky girl indeed! You raised her right, and to be at this tribute also! Wow! So many legends on stage together paying homage to a great, unique and amazing band. There ain't no other like Lynyrd Skynyrd!RIP.
Johnny looked so happy watching them. 🤗
Legendary musicians that pay homage to other legendary musicians and me unable to cry like a baby watching this. SImple Heavenly moment.
LeAnn Rimes took me here. I m glad that watching 'How do I live' gave me this bonus. Wow what a joy.
Slash, Billy Gibson on guitar and Wyonna and LeeAnn Rhymes backup. How good can it get.
I grew up in the time of Skynrd and Rosdington Collins band.Freaking Epic.
And 38 Special!
Warren Hayne, Chuck Leavell, Billie Gibbons, Slash, Paul Rodgers! That's a stage full of real musical legends there.
Yes I going to quit listening to all of them. It sucks that their part of the cansl
Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
Is that Paul Rogers singing?
There should be a TWO Thumbs up button for this video 👍👍! Every one of them Nailed it! ...RIP Gary
Warren Haynes, Billy Gibbons, and Slash, that’s wild
Warren Haynes and Chuck Leavell are the hidden gems on that stage.
This.
There isn't a musician in the world that wouldn't want Warren to play with them.
Also Paul Rodgers who Ronnie admired..
It's kinda sad that so little people recognize these two legends. Allman Bros moment out there on the stage when Chuch keys solo was followed by Warrens. Also, Warren playing strat? Haven't seen that before.
Anybody that matters knew who they are
Wow didn’t think I’d ever see Warren Haynes & Slash & Billy Gibbons at the same time on the same stage wow there all my favorite guitarist Excellent job wish I was there for that one!👍🏾
It was awesome seeing all these legends in their own rights, up there paying tribute to not only Mr. Gary Rossington, but to Ronnie, Ed,Steve, Allen, Leon, and Billy as well......very well done.....and RIP to all the Freebirds up there Jamming that show in the sky💯🎸
Es hermoso cuando se juntan tanta leyenda del rock, nunca decepcionan
So good to see so many show up and pay tribute. We'll be paying tribute to all of You eventually. We All lived in a great time.
This is so great. Love hearing Paul Rodgers - a favorite from Bad Company. Wynonna and Leann were so great. Loved it all.
Hello So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song.
Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
Beautiful performance I love this song Rodgers my favorite singer. How are you Gretchen ?
Paul Rodgers!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm impressed,Ronnie would be so delighted watching Paul Rogers singing his songs,as he took a liking when free played when they were young. Wish more songs were sung, but it was a good tribute to all the men that made up Lynyrd Skynyrd.❤RIP.
I hate to be ignorant, but was Paul Rogers in a group?? Idk him and I thought I knew everyone from this era❤
A wonderful tribute to the best southern rock and roll band ever . their music will be around forever. Leann could get a job as a honkette without a problem.
Long live Lynard Skynard, rock on🎶🎸. This group did them proud, Ty Ty☮️
Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
Yes. Paul Rodgers my favorite beautiful performance I love this song Rodgers my favorite singer. How are you Karen ?
Paul Rogers of Bad Company. What a tribute. Greatness recognizing greatness. Slash, Warren Haynes. Fantastic!!!
My favorite Paul Rogers band is Free and they had an INCREDIBLE impact on Skynyrd. Allen CLEARLY loved Paul Kossoff. If you've never listened to Free on a deeper level I HIGHLY recommend them! Check out Fire and Water if you've never heard it. Seriously awesome stuff!
@@SimpleManGuitars1973 - I'd say Gary was influenced the most by Paul Kossoff, not Allen?
@@Nocturnbandofficial I've wondered a lot about it. Gary loved Ry Cooder and Duane a lot too. Allen was also a big Clapton fan and hence the Crossroads performance on One More From the Road.
@@SimpleManGuitars1973 I Love The Band Free! To Bad The Band Went Their Separate Ways! I Think Free Were The Best Rock&Roll Blues Band Ever! Better Than Led Zeppelin!
@@dianafab4096 I put Paul Kossoff in that territory with Steve Gaines where that if he had lived longer he would've been a household name.
Gary Rossington could sure play. Glad a tribute was done. My husband said he was very kind. :)
I love this song beautiful voices nice performance. How are you Rachel ?
Slash at the CMT Awards. This is the craziest shit I've ever seen lol. Soooooo good.
Man, I still miss those guys. This one brought tears to my eyes.❤
I'm with ya brother!! legendary stuff
Heaven sure was smiling during this tribute. Great job by all of these amazing artists❤️❤️
Great line up...glad Paul Rodgers was there.. He's been friends with Skynyrd since the 70s touring Days ..
Lynryrd Skynyrd...We Miss the Original Lineup. Rest in Peace Gary 🎸 🎸 🎸
I went to visit Gary at Riverside Memorial last week. He is finally at peace underneath the Oak trees with the Moss...god bless Lynard Skynard and the impact its had on so many people. 🙌 ❤️
I couldn't help but think how thrilled Johnny and Rickey were and how Gary would be seeing their mentor/idol Paul Rodgers singing their songs. Everyone was terrific! Such a great set. So good to see the LS family there.
Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
I appreciate the upload thank you. God bless Gary Rossington 🙏
Fly High Gary..Long Live Skynryd
Rest in Peace, Gary Rossington.
Thank your for recognizing Gary Rossington's passing. That was a wonderful tribute. Paul Rodgers was the cherry on top. Ronnie had always said he thought Paul had the best Rock voice.
Warren Haynes never seems to play a bad note.
No truer words have ever been spoken. I first heard him on DMBs Central Park dvd, then played ‘Soulshine’ in a band and was really intrigued by the perfection of note choices and subtle dynamics.
He’s NOT a strict bluesman. He’s quite versatile.
Been following Warren since he was with David Allan Coe in the late 70's early 80's
One of the best by far .
He's really good
not many, if any. great player and an excellent singer as well.
@@jeffrey.a.hanson When I was 14 my dad took me to my first Allman Brothers show in 1996. We were front row center and I was having the time of my life. I was by FAR the youngest person that close and Warren noticed me. So between songs he walks over to Dickey and says something in his ear and they get a roadie to bring them an Eat A Peach shirt and Warren and Dickey BOTH sign it and walk to the end of the stage and point me out to a security guard and toss it RIGHT TO ME AND I got picks from both of them AND sticks from Butch Trucks! I started playing guitar not long after that and am still obsessed to this day and Warren is one of my all time favorites! I was also obsessed with Skynyrd on a whole OTHER level and me and my buddies had a Skynyrd Tribute band called "Nuthin' Fancy" when we were like 15 and 16 years old and all we did was just play Skynyrd CONSTANTLY! So the day that Gary died I decided to start making youtube shorts in his honor and actually started gaining a little traction on youtube and so decided to name my channel Simple Man Guitars after him and all the guys that so inspired me. I honestly can not overestimate the impact their music has had on my life. I met my wife playing music and we have now been married almost 20 years and have 2 kids and a great life. RIP Gary and thanks for all the timeless jams! The same goes for ALL our Southern Rock heroes!
Leanne and Winona as the soulful chorus/choir makes this the shit!
Not THE shit. Just shit.
ALL GOOD!!!!! LeAnn Rimes so beautifull!!!
Slash sounds just like he did when I saw Guns and Roses. Paul Rodgers should have been inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame many years ago. Billy Gibbons great performer. Saw these bands live many years ago. Bonnie Raitt's recent recognition gives me hope these people will not be overlooked. The greatest music of any generation includes these artists. Worth it to have to listen to the others.
Claro que deberia estar incluido!, es una de las mejores voces del rock
Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
I love this song beautiful version unique voices. How are you Linda ?
Being not recognized in some commercial hall while hailed by a hall full of friends ... I choose my friends.
Fly High Freebirds. May our heavenly father bless and comfort the family's friends and fans of these true southern rock pioneers.
I am 65. Loved these guys as a teen.
Same here...and I have NEVER stopped
God Bless Gary Rossington in Rock and Roll Heaven! Legends never Die. ❤
WY & LEANN TORN IT UP!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 ~DIDNT KNOW CODY HAD IT LIKE THAT! 🔥
Lynyrd Skynyrd first concert I ever saw 1976 Sam Houston Coliseum Houston Texas I was 16 years old it was awesome still remember the first song Working For MCA
OMG, what an all star crew right there!!! Slash, and Wynonna, Holy mother!!!! Ms. Rimes is having a blast!
Got a new respect for Leane. She was rockin it.
A great tribute to Gary!!!
Paul Rodgers was one of Ronnie Van Zants heros , They all did a great job , Glad they honored Stevie Ray Vaughn , the house is a rocking went over very good
Cody is having the time of his life up there
great honor for this great musician!! R.I.P.
Gotta love Warren throwin out some respect to the Allmans with that little Blue Sky riff or two @ 4:25 of Simple Man. ABB and Skynard…..two of the best examples of Southern rock!
Good catch! Thanks for the time stamp - so handy! I wish more people would use them!
Holy shit you're right the last part he plays blue sky. Absolutely fave Allman brothers jam
Warren and Chuck!!!! Wow!!!! So much respect!
Hi there ,I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the 🌎 🌎🙏🙏
Awesome job. Payed a nice tribute. We love you Lynard Skynard
Slash and the preacher!! Wow. Priceless
Thank y’all! Keeping LS live. 🌹🌹
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. Hello
This was the best part of the show . Loved it .
Warren Haynes' strat is everything. Hubba Hubba.
Warren Haynes ,Slash, Billy Gibbons all sounded legendary in my book ! Leanne Rimes and Wyonna did ahell of a good job to ad the keyboard player ! Haynes playing that sweet southern sound from aback in the days of the original band especially Rossingtons days was a real tear jerker boy ...hell you couldn't have asked for a better group of talent to give tribute to skynard ....Long live the kings of southern rock ! Fly high !
Slash and billy gibbons!!!!! Amazing tribute. All legends in there.
AWESOME ❤
Lynyrd Skynyrd will live forever. This was awesome
epic..so much talent in one building
Omg what a collaboration!!!!!Too much talent to comment!! ❤
Nicely DONE!!!!!!
the amazing talent everyone stayed in their lane !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Warren is always the boss on stage.
I love watching an all star ensemble play together and really enjoy themselves
That’s a lot of talent and rock history on one stage
Maybe they’ll go out on the road for a while as a LS cover band! I’d mortgage my house to be front row. Great performance. LeAnn and Wynonna were icing on the cake.
Great to witness such a well played and sung tribute to Gary. The original Skynyrd boys were fans of Free, so really good to see vocalist Paul Rogers front and centre.
Awesome real music will never die
YEAH!!! HELL YEAH!! What a great tribute!
Amazing performance! ❤
@🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🌹
Yes beautiful performance I love this song Paul Rodgers my favorite of all time singer. How are you CD ?
@2:58 "to see my kin" that's Ronnie Van Zant's little brother Johnny who took over singing for Lynard Skynard. He's such an amazing person! I'm so happy he was able to be there for this tribute!!
I love it !best regads from Germany 😁
PAUL RODGERS... RESPECT!!!!
Cody J living his best life!!
They freaking rocked!! But my girls give me the full body chills!! 😬😬
Keeping southern rock and blues alive.
Johnny would be damn proud!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!
Hed be jealous bruh
THAT ... was fabulous. And especially loved the high hand clasp between LeAnn and Wynona at the end of "Alabama" ... representative of how glad all these performers were, to be there.
IS that Slash?? Cody Johnson is such a great Singer!! So Much Great talent on one stage!
Tis he.
Nice voice, but gyrating like a clown. Guy needs to learn from the veterans on the stage around him - “you’re doing a tribute, YOU aren’t the show”.
would it be anyone else?
Slash is more of a feeling…
Cody Johnson? Who is she?
Being from Alabama, that’s my song, but through with CMT, gone woke on us!
Good Morning All, From Kansas U.S.A.
LeeAnn and Wynonna they got the assignment
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Cody Johnson looked like he was having so much fun being up there with all of those legends! Such an amazing tribute! The one thing I will say though is it would’ve been even better if they played Free Bird…
Free bird is far too long for a awards show 😂
Should have cut straight to the free bird outro and just let just let the boys rip.
I had never heard Cody before (not a country guy). He rocked it!
He was obnoxious and didn't need to be there....
@@Moviegod37Yep sure did
