Gary was indeed a great guitarist and the band was an original no doubt. However, Ricky Medlocke was originally in Skynyrd as drummer before forming the great Blackfoot band. Ricky came back to the band as guitarist and he is a true American rocker - Great singer and guitarist.
@CluelessGamer66 Yes Billy was an original member but my reply was about the last remaining original member - Ricky Medlocke was an original member. He left to do Blackfoot (greatness also) before coming back 20 years or so ago as guitarist instead of drummer. Artiumus Pyle is an original member ( after Ricky) but he has never been back with the group with Johnny as singer. The band has put out new music (some really good music and some just ok) so it wasnt just a tribute band. At this point however, I prefer to have Johnny do his thing with Donnie (van zant brothers) and have Ricky do Solo thing.

If I was ever blessed enough to see Lynyrd Skynyrd live, I would bawl my eyes out. I graduated HS in 1976 and have always been a huge fan. I remember when Ronnie was killed.....They are just one of the greats....
Saw them in 1988 at Florida Southern University-awesome...Kid Rock with them- on top of the world
They were awesome in concert! Saw them twice.

that was a sad,so glad they are remembered. Thanks Kid Rock
I saw Lynard Skynard in 1976 at JFK stadium in Philly. It was a great concert.
We didn't have no internet, but man I never will forget, the way the moonlight shined across her hair - spoke to me, nice. Good song, well done.
Two of my favorites ❤
SHAKESPEARE SAID IF MUSIC IS THE FRUIT OF LOVE PLAY ON KID ROCK
That was a fine tribute to one of the greatest rock anthems and bands ever.Good on a Kid for paying respect to Leonard Skynard.✌️👍
By the way it's spelled "LYNYRD SKYNYRD"
"Leonard" left the building and was never in one of the world's best bands, they're timeless and the music continues gathering new fans all the time.

These are some of the original Skynyrd. Not a tribute to them!!
Lynard Skynyrd is the all time greatest and kid rock you did good by putting in it was so awesome that was my two most favorite songs out together thank y'all oh and kid I love you you are so genuine and that is the first live show that I've ever seen or heard that did not sound funky that was great you're awesome
I wish they would bring more of this music back, I am so glad Kid Rock choose to do just that, I love the way Kid Rock sing, A man of many talents when it comes to music, God Bless you and Thank you

Change my lights to rock I tried to listen to kid Rock as much as I could but this time I'm always busy
This is the way rock and roll is supposed to be
Out of tune?
Oh man! I love it! I grew up in Alabama listening to Skynyrd. Sweet Home was our anthem, but we thought it was us against the world, but Kid Rock captured it and said to everyone that he got us.
This isn't even the original band as most of them died in 77 I believe
@@chrisbergley6347 Not sure I get your point. Yes, most of the original Skynyrd died in a plane crash in ‘77, but Kid Rock’s song was about him as a kid in Northern Michigan singing Sweet Home Alabama recorded by the original band.
@@chrisbergley6347 --- that dont matter... they still kick ass and will always be one of the best ....
Me too. Love it!

Kid Rock is a special musician. He follows his own path, and as it turns out, it's almost always right.
no he's not. He did a simple 'mashup' which was popular ten years ago (and done by many people) and he rhymes the word 'things' with the word 'things'. he's not special at all.
@@cfisher2447 Sorry, I didn't realize you're an internet troll who likes to argue.

Sweet Home Alabama
Werewolf In London

Way back in 2008, when my son was home from college break, he brought his guitar hero game. I was registered as Mom on the easy setting and love playing Free Bird and many others guns n' roses etc... Put up some good scores for being mom.
I'm 72, and recently rediscovered "all summer long" with a 16-year-old playing the drums by the name of Alex Shumaker from Punxsutawney PA. I just saved your all summer long and sweet home Alabama video so I can play it over and over. Thank you so much.
