hi, i'm alana! i'm a 24 year-old content creator who loves watching anime and movies/tv shows. aside from uploading reaction content, find me streaming on twitch 3 days a week! / alanamisako
this episode was beautifully animated
thanks for your support on these vinland reactions, everyone!! i appreciate it :D
It wasn't included in the anime, but in the manga after Thorfinn woke up from the nightmare he wasn't alone at the stable. There was a girl being held down by a group of Askeladd's men about to get assaulted and they offered him to join them. She looked at Thorfinn hoping he'd help her but he looked away uninterested. He then went on a walk and found Askeladd. I can see why it was omitted. I think the scene was meant to show that Thorfinn was very numb to the suffering of others at this point. So much so that he felt no sympathy for the "weak". So he left her to suffer without even batting an eye.
Damn, it would've been interesting if they added that scene
Wow I never knew that! I started reading the manga halfway thru S2. It definitely would've added a new layer to his character.
I understand why they omitted that from the anime version. I feel like him sleeping next to a dead body is a pretty good alternative for the narrative.
I'm glad you appreciate Askeladd, and find his relationship with Thorfinn interesting because it absolutely is!
my emotions towards him are DEFINITELY a rollercoaster throughout these next few episodes, but y’all askeladd lovers gotta stick with me til the end ok🤣
@@AlanaMisako I understand :DDDD
Askeladd is Peak. The writing is indeed beautiful
Vinland saga is really underappreciated, it's a true masterpiece and i can't wait for the second season
News flash: it's out already
.
Yeah i know u meant her reaction to second season 🙏
3 rd season...2 nd season is already over .
@@Tomarr369 no bro what he meant is he can't wait for her 2nd season reaction
Eh everybody who's watched it calls it a masterpiece, not really "underapreciated".
Always gonna eat up those peakland saga uploads
It feels like this choice that askeladd made was the culmination of a process that began the day he met thors. Feeling his age catching up to him, and feeling like he wasn't really doing anything meaningful (hence the constant shots of him yawning and bored out of his mind). He remembers this long haired character from his past, letting us know that he's thinking of a promise, a hope, or an ideal that was long lost to him. This age of twilight, the coming of ragnarok, it's all just an excuse. He's just allowing himself to follow a dream till the end.
The age of twilight reflects on the receding hairline
@@ChaserHati there's nothing sacred anymore
I swear I could just gush over season 1, this is one of those episodes that gives me chills every time from the words of wisdom, the beautiful scenery, and don't even get me started on the music😭chefs kiss.
When thorfinn find out that really went down, you better watch out for thorfinn
You're probably the first reactor who's liked Askeladd right off the bat as much as I do. So many of them don't come around to liking him until the later part of the first season.
Askeladd is old and he's also noticing the world around him is changing, as it always does. Askeladd wants to go out with "a bang" by saving the Prince by himself and earning the favour of the crown... or die trying.
After this epic speech Askeladd just make thorfinn to do all the hard job like always
You were right about the flashback.
Askeladd is the baddest bitch, well said!
Have you watched the movie Suzume, if not, are you planning on reacting to it now that it has been released in crunchyroll?
Typical father son relationship. I think deep down Thorfin knows that Askelad is like a father to him but it's hard to admit it. If he did it would be like betraying his real dead father, and that's what really destroying him from the inside. But the truth is that he grew up following and learning from Askelad not Thor. And I think it's the same for Askelad too. He could have killed Thorfin from the beginning but he didn't. He likes to boost that he uses people for his own benefit but Thorfin is like a son to him i believe. He even said it himself that eventually he'll die in one of these duels yet he won't kill Thorfin. Why not? Because that's what fathers do. They stay around and do their part even when their kids are hating them.
"Ragnarok" is basically judgement day in Norse mythology. Thorfinn is not catching any bars from Askeladd.
5:00 people wo read the manga know this scne is way darker...
What is it? You can put a spoiler warning and type somewhere lower.
@@silversrayliegh5924 its not a spoiler since its not in the anime but some guys from askeladd group bring a woman to where thorfin is sleeping and ask him if he wants to join them... some nasty dark stuff (we got a glimpse of what being a viking here actually stands for, and askellad group is no diferent at all)
@@Thisisitfornow2560 Ah damn...
when you will react to Tokyo revengers season 3 ???
You are probably in season 2 right now. I hope you don't give it cons because of less action. season 2 focuses more on characters and story rather than action.
Why did Tokyo Revengers stop?
When Tokyo Revengers?
Where's the shirt from?
i got it on etsy!
DAY 3 OF ASKING ALANA FOR A KISS
Coming closer to the most disturbing episode of this season, ep 14. Thats the only time i genuinely disliked askeladd.
