Wow! Within the last hour i heard Sierra sing for the first time ever! I thought i heard the best of what the world had to offer. I been part of the music world in my own little way for years. Then Sierra comes along in the New Year 2023. I am beyond words! Her voice took me back in time to the greats! Like when i would play Pasty Cline on the Jute box 10x in a row. Just so i could feel that history behind her voice. So pure! So clean! Now i found that magic in Sierra! What a New Years Gift!
Astonishing, I'm 62 Born London and grew up through the Beatles, Gershwin, Led zeppelin, Debussy on and on seen it all Floyd the wall Dylan earls court, Wynton Marsalis, all points, This Girl is astonishing.
I am 62 and seen hundreds of shows. August 23. 2024 I will be in her presence in Dallas. I haven't been this excited about an artist in some time. She's SPECIAL!
WTF?!?!?!? Where did this girl come from?!?!? She's amazing, what a talent! So brave and totally someone new!!! She does something like this on an awards show???? Simply stunning!
She came from Charleston WV. Playing with a band called 600 lbs of sin. She probably was sort of well known around here before that though. Isn't she great!
This performance gives me goosebumps. I love so much of what's going on here. The music, lyrics and this arrangement, Such Fun! The whole ensemble contribute to putting on a banger number... "Follow that! MWHAhahaha!" Sierras immediate invite for audience pARTicipation, singing, stage presence, costume, Josies stage presence, playing, singing, the stomps she gives to count in the last outro, her yelling "YEAH!", these women's stage presence and the chemistry they produce is palpable. I'm getting all this off a screen and recording, I can't even imagine how amazing it must have felt to experience in person. I'm sad Josie isn't in the band anymore, very much missed. I hope whatever caused the departure works out positively for everyone or can be resolved/reconciled. Wishing you all Happiness and Health.
Just discovered Sierra and her amazing band this year! Love that old timy sound and the joy she and her band radiate as they play! I play guitar and sing too,. one of my faves is "In Dreams" acoustic version. Love her uniqueness! She's right in there with Patsy Cline!!!!!
At 68 one can just listen to so much 70s music. I look for new sounds on this award show. Some years are better than others. Sierra was the star of the evening. Her sound draws you in. So refreshing.
Yes I fully agree that Sierra is the most important artist since Dolly Parton. But, I do have to say that Sierra Ferrell is even greater than that. In my opinion Sierra Ferrell is the all time greatest female artist in the music history, and I just love everything about her, her voice, she's a genuis songwriter, and a hell out of a great guitar player, band leader and performer.
I totally agree. She is larger than life. Perfect voice, phrasing and timing. Perfect guitar timing too. And she puts no sugar on it. She just plays it. In summary she is gorgeous.
@@pancholefty1624 Great comment Pancho Lefty, I couldn't have said it better. Sierra Ferrell is surely the most complex female artist we have seen. She's a brilliant genius in every aspect.
My apologies for being so crass on my last comment, but her voice, arrangements and creativity are so new, so Inspired, so authentic. So great to see and hear new music that lifts me! It’s been a long time.
trombone is played by the absolutely gorgeous and immensely talented Lorenzo Molina. He is a long time member of the wonderful Mavericks. Amazing that he wasn't on the road!
Your amazing for saying that! I heard Sierra sing for the first time in the last hour. I am beyond words! Just when i thought i knew about all the special musicians playing these days. How wrong i was! What a New Years 2023 gift! Her voice is full of hope! Ans so much more!
I first heard her a decade ago sitting on a curb at a farmer's market in a small town in Washington State, singing for tips and selling her homemade CDs for $5.
So happy for this talented, funny, free spirited woman, Sierra Ferrell! I hope she uses her fame and fortune for as much good as Dolly has --- and not just more tattoos (like Morgan Wade).
Performance is for all senses, including vision. Her eclectic style is part of what makes her so fun to WATCH. Just an opinion of course. It’s like theatre 🤷🏻♀️
She loves it, you can just tell...which in turn makes her music even happier if that is even possible. This is her time and this is her style and we are so fortunate.
Unpopular opinion here but Sierra is better heard than seen, music is not a visual art form, in fact, music is invisible, you can see the ink on paper musical score, you can see someone perform it but you can't see the actual sound waves. In my opinion musicians waste their talent spending effort on the visuals instead of honing their craft. As much as I enjoy her voice and genre of music I don't think I will ever spend my money to see her live.
Well, I’m sorry you feel that way. I saw her live for the first time at a small venue in Vancouver last year, and she was beyond incredible. She’s even better live than I could have ever imagined! I felt like I was truly witnessing a piece of music history! So little goes into her stage set up, because the music speaks for itself. So you must be commenting on her fashion and aesthetic, which maybe isn’t for everyone, but it’s part of how she chooses to express herself. I think she’s a badass with great style. Did she need these sparkly glasses for this set? No. But did imake her happy and likely help her feel comfortable and worthy in this very intimidating setting? Probably! I think it’s odd that because of her aesthetic, you don’t want to see her live. I promise you that you’re doing yourself a disservice by making that decision. She has a quirky vintage style, but that’s part of what makes her who she is.
Also, last time saw her, it was $25, and this time it’ll be $40, at an intimate venue. It’s such a gift to catch these artist while they’re still touring this small venues. If you love her music, I strongly suggest seeing her live if you can, while we are lucky enough to see her at clubs and tiny theatres.
I don't think there could be a worse take than this. I've seen several hundred live shows and hers is easily a top 5. I hope you go to a show so you can see how wrong you are
People that watch this and who are into these artists tend to really really love music.
Country Music has lost it's way. THIS woman should be the future of Country Music.
Totally agreed. Most CM is all style - no substance. LOVE Sierra
100%
You obviously don't understand the difference between americana, country, and bluegrass.
@@Eliminator5555Sierra fits into all 3 categories!
She got it the old-fashioned way. She earned it.
Sierra Ferrell's talent is so huge I expect her songs to be played hundreds of years from now. She is AMERICANA the pure definition.
exactly what i as thinking!
She’s risen like the star ⭐️ she is since I met her (and got to sing with her!) around a campfire about 4 years ago!!!

Mountain songbird
