Jamba 32- YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! Thank YOU !!!!! Mayer coming in like Rainy Day Dream Away ( Hendrix). Is great. Chunking away. His guitar tone-- thick like Live Cream or Derrick Trucks. Phenomenal But the second he opens his mouth. Umm. Mehh. I would’ve said ok, IF I hadn’t seen Joe Williams with the Count Basie Orchestra at the Chicago Jazz Festival (‘81 ?) That was total class. To some people, Mayer sounds great. But it sounds like Van Morisson ; like he needs to loosen to top button on his collar. Some people might like it. I would’ve brought in a singer to sing their part of the song. Gloria Estefan, Celine Dione, Susan Tudeschi, joss stone is what I’m thinking. But that’s just me Some great guitarists leading their band need/ed to have a singer step in, but then step back out and let the guitarist dominate the show : Gary Moore, Joe Satriani, Tommy Emmanuel Just my thoughts
No Joel Williams is for old ears an I’m 70 and this sounds good to me. Watch his earlier videos of this. Great stuff. And he had surgery on his vocal chords so of course he doesn’t sound the best. But guitar playing is the greatest. Thank you and bye 😊
Please a new album with the trio , pleaseeeee
Doing the lead vocal while strumming the rhythm and inserting cascading runs is no easy feat, yet John Mayer makes it look so easy!
Best rhythm player alive
I was gonna say, playing the single note runs while singing is so difficult
John makes the prs sounds like a strat!!!
Coil split features on the prs are insane they sound like real single coils I myself can’t tell the difference in person it’s so good.
That run at 1:30 is smooth af
3:08 absolutely brilliant 👏
Awesome oh love this and trio Amen🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Love it!!!
very cool
What PRS model is this? First time seeing him with this model especially with the Trio
PRS McCarty
1:50
I love Mayer but he sounds so much better on a strat... that’s his weapon!!! A 335 too but mostly the strat!!!!
Silver sky >
Ol Johnny needs to listen to Joe Williams to really lay it down
