- Experiencing your car lighting on fire is one of the scariest things that can happen to you at the racetrack. Thankfully this corvette driver had the foresight to wear his safety gear! No one in this video is harmed!

Great video. Noise (mostly) comes from tread; slicks and tires with little-or-no tread pattern can be effectively silent, right up until you're going completely sideways.
Great driving as always. On one if my track days we had a Challenger run out of gas, so it definitely does happen.
Sucks for the Corvette guy, glad to see it wasn't insane damage to the car outside the engine and that he didn't get hurt.
Those flames were scary.
Also passing someone going into a braking zone is way more fun than passing someone out of a corner.
One requires hp, the other requires skill and guts.
seriously. reminds me to put a fire extinguisher in my car over the off season
and so true lol
@@dadhats Spend the money and have an automatic deploying system put in.
Remember the fire safety system is to buy you enough time to get out of the car. Its there to save you, not the car.
@@Mtnbike121 good point!
Just found this channel, love it! Keep up the great work
appreciate my man!
The guy with the C6 Z06 ran Susquehanna and Northeast PA Autocross. Good dude. Wicked fast. His brother is wicked fast too. I also run Kumho V730s on a Z4M. if they survive the oil seep, they are mighty! They feel beefy, like there is more thermal mass in them than other tires. They warm up slower. (not good autocross tires) but hold their optimum temperature for extended sessions. Well that's what I've noticed over 4 TNiA at Pocono and last Saturday with MassTuning TrackFest at Pineview Run.
seem like they did! crushed my old pb at pocono today with them 👌
you're not old enough, but back in the 80's they were known as firesqueals, because any hint of lateral g's on their street tires would be telegraphed with high pitched tire squeal. i happen to be running the same firestone tire that you mention on my track car. as a rookie, the audio feedback is really helpful. and it also gets everyone looking at you thinking a spin is eminent. humor.
LOL def going to call them that from now on 😂 after trying real track tires I can say they are a significant step up. obviously the grip levels are higher, but I really appreciate the breakaway characteristics of the kumhos
love the content bro keep it up
Great now I need a time attack corvette
Does the car prefer not tracking out exiting T2?
you def can. I've tried messing around with both tight and wider lines thru there but I haven't found it to be any quicker probably just bc you need to setup for the next 2 turns
Nice driving. Atrocious point bys.
tell me about it lol "advanced" class btw 😐
