Catherine must have been a rebellious badass in her prime youth. She was all about that rock life.
She's admitted it a few good times.
Where's the Led Zeppelin?!!
@@cpad007 and where's Bohemian Rhapsody as well?
She should have checked out the Bee Gees ODESSA album. It rocked.
@@epic4479 Unfortunately, "Bohemian Rhapsody" did not got to #1 in the U.S.
Poor Catherine was really waiting for that rock and roll. Me too girl
We all were 🤘
Mia Dibble clearly wasn’t bought as much as the others and therefore doesn’t deserve to be there
Nah it means people didn't have good taste of music back then 😜
marc de Vries heavy rock is shit but ok
Uncle Bens simp
Catherine was a Goth girlfriend who listened to rock music and hated pop/disco because it was too mainstream lol
Chandan Bhowal she was probably hot back in the day lmao
rock was mainstream in the 70s tho lmao that that was the height of rock bands
rock was so mainstream back then that they called the beatles and elvis pop
She would have been on Soul Train and laughed at American Band stand.
@@minatofukushima9885 that is exactly my point
Cathrine's right. Had zeppelin, police, the Beatles, Queens bohemian rhapsody came out in the seventies those just some examples and I am also upset that Marvin Gaye didn't get higher.
Yesss
Billboard is american so it doesnt really represent the whole 1970s
Beatles were 60s
@@anyareyes2663 your right but they had hits in the seventies hey jude and let it be where in 1970 or 71 I believe
@@kristophermartins6972 Nah Hey Jude was 68 and Let It Be was 70.
I love how grandma Catherine looks so mad at the lack of rock'n'roll on the top 10 lmao
Ho
She must have been a real hell raiser ....I was born in 57 so i was in high school in early 70's to me 71 was a great year for rock....the who, zeppelin came out with vol 4 , black sabbath, the doors LA women, Sticky Fingers the Stones.....and debbie boone was number 1.....yuck.
I was so happy they didn't have any rock lol. Every video on UA-cam has nothing but rock music.
Bkkersey93 ok well that’s not true, but even then rock is the most successful and musically best genre ever. Hands down, so much diversity and different sounds etc.
@@bkkersey93 I know what u love_its full of crap....
Catherine said it best.
*There was Rock n’ Roll in the seventies*
Or it could just be more Andy Gibb.
d dave yes
Agreed... ps nice pfp 👌
Bruv, Bohemian freaking Rhapsody was '75
@@colddekstar why are you talking about queen ??
Catherine's reactions were great!
Catherine is great in general
You could tell that Catherine wasn't into these songs, she was into Classic Rock N' Roll. I could tell that she's a rocker just like I am.
Back in the 70's it wasn't "Classic" Rock & Roll. It was just Rock & Roll or Rock. If you were into Rock more than likely you weren't into Disco. I hated Disco, the only two artists I would willingly listen to on this list would have been Rod Stewart (his early music) and Marvin Gaye. My parents were enjoying the other stuff, lol.
Soul, R&B & Funk were also on my go to list and I was getting into some reggae. This list missed many of the greatest bands & solo artists of all time from the 70's.
I loved all the sub genres of rock, ie: soft, hard, southern, progressive, glam, punk, heavy metal and plenty more. In my late 60's and still lucky to find bands that are making great music today. I think it rubbed off on my grandson who has been a drummer in a rock band for a number of years. lol. Rock & Roll Never Forgets! Love the SP pic:)
Catherine has never and will never give up her youth. Still eye rolling to disco 50 years later.
Hi
Like her parents did to rock
Make Catherine happy! Do the top rock'n'roll songs of all times ahah
put some elvis on and you'll get a big smile from her
YAS
and they just put all elvis songs lmaooo
No stairway, bohemian, comfortably numb, smoke on the water, any classic rock I would’ve thought would be in top 10
Hasta la gente de esa época escuchaba mala música
Kirk Butler yeah I bet so to but all these songs were very popular and very good so it doesn’t make sense to me. I guess some of these just stayed on the charts longer and this is only in the us
"Stairway To Heaven" was never released as a single in the USA, so it didn't even chart. None of the others you mentioned were big enough. "Bohemian Rhapsody" peaked at #9, "Comfortably Numb" didn't hit the top 40, and "Smoke On The Water" peaked at #4. Yes, this is based on the Hot 100 singles chart in the USA.
I'm surprised The Eagles don't feature. Hotel California was massive.
They weren't exactly trend setting bands in the 70s. Those bands went against the grain.
You could see Catherine's reaction it was so hilarious 😂😂😂. She really loved the Rock and roll.
I love how pissed Catherine was at the lack of rock n roll on this list. Favorite elder for sure!!!
My fav is Catherine and rocky xD
I think Catherine really knows how to enjoy life!
This video really proves how irrelevant the Billboard charts actually are in the long term stance of things.
Well this is only the US charts, not worldwide...I wonder how much different the list would be if it was worldwide charts.
These wasn't worldwide charts.
bubbles apart from the fact that it’s based on public streaming and sales
This is only the US charts, not worldwide.
@@octavius8562 I'm just surprise that none of The Jackson 5 Songs were on here.
No AC DC, Queen? Rolling Stones?
I must say i was really surprised by the list.
Master Mundo singer songwriters, disco and philly soul were topping the charts during the 70s
Right
@@jocodabest In America, but in the UK was Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, etc...
Disco rulled the 70s
This list is terrible uk list would be better and different
For once, I’d like to see what Catherine’s childhood was like
Omigod a full profile on the elders would be AMAZING!
“I listened to them before they even became famous” og hipster
I swear Catherine is my spirit animal! Where was all of the rock?!?!
Apparently FBE only does the US lists, and not Worldwide. Which I think is a mistake on their part. And I don't feel like that list was entirely correct, but whatever.
Samantha Gerbrandt, they said it was determined by Billboard based on how many weeks each song was the number 1 song on the charts. So each one was a number 1 song. I’m assuming that there were probably a few that spent the same number of weeks on the charts so it probably knocked a few down since they can only choose 10.
Damn, Katherine was a whole mood in this video.
Not many rock songs that hit number 1 as much as pop music
Not many rock songs in 70s were released as single. For ex. Stairway to heaven was never released as a single, ofcorse none from pink Floyd as well
"It was, inescapable",Poor Catherine,i just want to give her a hug and tell her i totally understand where she is coming from.
"My boy!" There was a lot of emotion in that, many memories!
Catherine is such a mood😂😂
@Zoe Manning you good?
You should give Catherine what she wants and do (Top 10 Rock music from the 1970's)
Yees you have to after torturing her with this music
Everyone's face when Marvin Gaye comes up....memories i bet
" memories" 😏😏😏
*mammaries
@@mastermundo8105 they got it on 😂😉
I'm surprised and shocked that a lot of rock songs didn't make it. What about Hotel California? Queen? ABBA? Pink Floyd? Even Michael Jackson had some hits in this year. Oh, well.
j r it’s billboard and how many weeks it was on the charts
all these bands were releasing albums, not singles, that's probably why
They had big hits, but not big enough to make the top 10 for the decade. I'm just questioning why "Stayin' Alive" didn't make it over "Let's Get It On." SA was clearly a much bigger hit, if you study the chart like I do.
Catherine knows what’s up. What a legend
after seeing this you can really apreciate that true and good music stayed the rest was forgoten, Marvin, bee gees and things that were not on the list (ZEPLIN MAN) moved on to our generations, the rest faded
Yeah I agree but I don't understand how she didn't like the Bee Gees
@@willa6167 She didnt liked disco in general, but bee gees were one of the best ones lol
@@juancitobentos6351 yeah I agree
Catherine just lashing out at anything that wasn’t rock 😂😂
"Ma' Boy" 7:49
I love Catherine!!! She is my spirit animal.
Yes..Catherine..is a sweet child in time..wanting a whole lotta love...fully trained in rock and hootchie Coo....best soul on the panel
I love how exasperated Catherine was by a bunch of these songs, made me laugh so hard
It breaks my heart knowing how much great rock music came out back then and practically all that's in the top 10 is disco and love songs
You could see how excited they are getting it warms my heart
Seriously no ABBA?
Remember this is The USA, they were nowhere near as Iconic there as they we're in the rest of the world. If this was The UK version, there's be at least 4 ABBA songs in there.
Catherine had me laughing so much in this episode. XD
Hey
When Robert said “My Boy”, I felt that....
Me too man
Same
2:09 is why she's my favourite haha. Rock on! \m/
she's the best
Im a child of the 90s but music from the 70s are my favorite. They had so much groove and just made you wanna dance
you're not alone with that. a lot of rock, metal, hell even some 80s-synth stuff is just down my alley. Mostly cuz my mom and dad played a lot of it when I grew up XD and I just also feel it sounds better than something 'oh-wahahahahahahaha' style post-2000s stuff.
Catherin saying " it was everywhere kid, it was inescapable" should become a meme.
You know Baby and Despacito were inescapable too.
@@GanaaG yep
America 2020 Colorized

I wish I was Catherine's granddaughter
Yeah me too
Or to me Grandson
@@CholaHelloKitty why you want to be catherine's grandson😂
AMBER SEKER oh because I’m a boy
Kitten Gamer that is a very good reason to want to be a grandson instead of granddaughter
Out of all of the Bee Gees on here, how is Stayin' Alive not up there.
That's not as good as their older hits, like I started a joke, and Gotta get a Message to You. Also, Words.
Their 60s songs were better.
Because that’s there top 10 hits from the 70s.
Answer: It SHOULD be! It was just as popular as "How Deep Is Your Love." "Let's Get It On" is the one that shouldn't be here. I love the Marvin Gaye song, but "Stayin' Alive" was a massive hit!
@@zacharypatton3713 it was released in 1977
i love Catherine. (Nearly) everything aside from rock is boring for her. She is even open for Rammstein as far as i recall from Elders react to Rammstein. Thumbs up, Catherine. Love your attitude. Rock on!
Catherine is the best. I bet she got some crazy stories
Catherine's reactions are EVERYTHING 😂😂😂
I love Catherine! She's my favorite!
you should do a top ten ROCK songs of the 70s. this was all pop music.
What do you think pop stands for? Popular
@@michaelh13 well done. But rock is better
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek Better is subjective; if you mean sells more records, you're wrong. If you mean you personally think it sounds better, then I didn't ask nor do I care
@@michaelh13 I do think rock sounds better than pop in the 70’s, but i could be wrong opinionated.
All BAD pop music.
Catherine is me with pop music today 😂
I want to hear more of what Catherine used to listen to
Cuz she’s not here for their selections 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@MichelleLuvn25 He didn’t ask why there wasn’t more of what she listened to. He said he WANTED to hear them. There’s a difference.
She was obsessing over pink floyd in one episode
Cathrines reaction to the third is so metal xD
Up the horns!
Catherine is my favorite elder 🤘🧛♀️
I felt that "My boy" @7:49 damn!
He sounds very emotional, like he relates a lot.
Is "ma boy" more intimate than "ma man"?
@@rogue-4789 like he is proud of a boy from his community to become a legend
My ultimate goal in life is to be Catherine as a grandma.
I've wanted to rock, aw man. I mean I'm 16, but I've always loved 70s rock
I love the old rocker lady! "It was inescapable!" x _ x
LED zepplin
Black sabbath
Kiss
ACDC
Catherine is the coolest. Can I adopt her?
Damn where zeppelin, Clapton, AC/DC, the police, everything all the classic rock
While it is good, it wasnt popular
I agree bruv
It is the US charts Billboard
LSG its is Billboard, they have always had shitty musicians in the top.
Songwriters, disco and philly soul hit it big on the charts. Not so much rock.
i LOVE Catherine, “never got it, just never got it….. six”
The elders are my absolute favorite to watch from this channel. I hope they ALWAYS have a great time in their younder years!
Catherine's expression at the "more Andy Gibb" hahaha
Elders React:Bohemian Rhapsody movie
The elders are my FAVE! 💛
4:15 Such a Hipster
Oh, Oh! Can we have them react to 1980's? And then the 90's? And so forth?
They won't get it. Let's just stop here.
Why doesn’t Catherine have her own fbe series?!
Yeah, she's been my favorite from day 1.
SAME hippie mom love her 😆😘
Love everyone of these songs!
Fun to watch the reactions of the elders!
These songs remind me of my folks and BOTH teaching me to appreciate music before my time.
God i love Catherine, genuinely brings me joy and a smile her reactions do
She's always SO RELATABLE
Lol, that trolling they did with Catherine, so mean XD
No Hotel California?
Can you guys do a 1980s version with the elders 👍👍👍
they were all feeling it when marvin gaye came on. awwwww.
I love how literally everybody lit up when Marvin Gaye came on. Me too. Me too.
Oh my god I love Catheine so much. I aspire to be an elder as cool as she is lol
Ok but how can ABBA not be on this list...
They had big hits, just not top 10 for the decade.
Elders react to the top 10 rock songs of the 1970s, do it for Catherine!!
y'all need to do the rock charts for Catherine.
And me.
Catherine cracks me up so much.
As always Catherine is just the coolest, I want to be her friend!
Catherine is the exact expression of my feelings about this
Really? She was my least favourite in the video. Each to their own I guess
Catherine is savage AF!!! Love her to pieces!!!😂😂❤️❤️🤘🏼
yall need to turn this around on the elders for cathrine. have them rate the top 10 heavy metal songs of the seventies.
Yesss totally agreed
Heavy metal as it's known today didn't exist in the '70s. We just had Black Sabbath. ;-)
Lol I wish I could have a grandma like Catherine
Shame on them for torturing Catherine.
I was expecting 'Stayin' Alive' to be there...
Wait, never mind.
you can see the memories in their faces. music really brought people together then. :-)
Once again Catherine stays my favourite
10:15 "Oh well there's no accounting for taste." 😂
I need to hang out with Catherine so we can rock out!
Vinny Craig Catherine is the best.
Mhm😒
🤟🤟
Trying to define an entire decade with one genre. The 70's is defined as multiple genres with singer-song-writers dominating half the decade, rock: southern & country rock dominating the other half. Motown ruled over Disco which was relatively short-lived.
catherine is my spirit animal
I feel you Catherine. I feel you. More Zeppelin to the people!!!
I'm with Catherine on this one. Rock on RocknRollElder!!!!!!
"The 70s were also my Party days." I love her. 😂

Where was Fleetwood Mac? Rumors was the top album!
This is 45s only.
No, it's true.
Where is ABBA? So many hits, one after another and another
